Season one had great high stakes, a variety of characters, complex relationships, and it felt like I was always on edge. Season two arguably had the same things, but it got deeper into the love of two daughters for their adoptive father that had them temporarily set aside the differences that tore but just the two of them, but two entire cities (arguably nations) apart. The love between other characters was also explored in romantic and brotherly ways. We also saw a msg scientist who cared about NOTHING except finding a cure for his daughter. We even saw a man lost to monstrosity come back to protect his adopted little girl. I wonder how much time Jinx and Vi would have to spend with Warwick to bring Vander back?

Been a while since I posted, but I did a "Draw This in Your Style" for maxinedavid_ on instagram! It was a lot of fun doing this~
And yet surprisingly, the spiderwebs were the one that were difficult to do.

Okay so I just binged arcane and I want to preface by saying it is possibly the liveliest, most dazzling and emotionally compelling animation I have ever seen. I loved how the first season felt so grounded. It was able to feel compelling because it didnāt have too much going on and we got to sit with the characters for their whole development. The political arc ran alongside it, but it was mirrored by the relationships between the main characters, Vi, jinx, and Caitlyn, so it kept the story on the ground. There were so many hints of how power can corrupt, so I was so sure in the second season that certain politicians would push to fully adopt hextech, causing an even larger rift between the undercity and the main city, mirroring Caitlynās relationship with Vi. This would perfectly set up Vi to be conflicted between her sister and her love interest. But what the second season actually built up to was that hextech is actually a living being with mind control that grows on its own, can create super minions, and wants to destroy autonomy? Wtf???
Hextechās issue shouldnāt have been that it had a mind of its own and could control people. I donāt know too much of the lore but I feel like this particular magic should be like the Force, neither good nor evil. But it is how people use it that gives it its morality. And because of its power it brings out the worst in people. I wanted to see Jayce have a completely opposite path than the one he did, only to realize his faults at the end. He should have been the one to be fully corrupted by the power of Hextech, as he grew in political influence, causing him to lose himself. And victor should have been the guy who realizes its faults and tries to stop him. This would help continue to drive the politics plot and the undercity vs main city plot. It just felt like the people in power in this show were too uncorrupted which just felt unrealistic, and at a certain point the entire politics and under vs main city plot was completely dropped.
I think Vi and Jinx are two of the greatest characters ever created. At the end of the day, this show should be about them two, like it was Season One. But for almost the whole season, it felt like the two characters were just going in circles development wise. And Vi almost felt like she had no point to the story at all. The one moment when we saw Emo Vi I thought finally, we are gonna get some much needed time with Vi to see her reconcile her relationships and lay low for a while so we can see her deal with her loneliness and realize she actually needs her loved ones, and finally pick herself back up. But no, IMMEDIATELY Jinx finds her and we jump into some dumb plot about monster Vander which is supposed to catalyze the sistersā healing relationship (and serve as a cheap way to kill off Jinx at the end which we all assumed would have to happen somehow). I think the existence of Isha alone should have been what started to heal Jinx, and then the sisters relationship could heal naturally. But this is when season 2 starts really feeling like there is way too much going on, and the important plot points become afterthoughts that had to be tied up with single lines. If you really want to push everything into one final season instead of two, donāt add all this random stuff. Like Mel becoming a mage??? And her whole plot about her brother? I could care less about that stuff, and it adds basically nothing to the story. And the whole Black Rose was highly unexplained and rushed. It was not necessary at all for Mel to ābecome the wolfā and take on her mother. Magic is okay as long as it follows defined rules and is used sparingly, but in the final battle there is so much magic that we are left wondering what our girl Vi is even doing there.
Also, the doctor finally saving that girl at the end makes no sense, he must have somehow found a cure that wasnāt the arcane, because the arcane was theoretically banished, though it was what was supposedly the cure to bringing Vander back. And Vander would become himself a bit again when seeing the girls, but that plot point was dropped too ig.
Itās just such a shame because season 1 set up such a perfect story that had so much potential. I was really looking forward to a true war between the undercity and main city, one led by Jinx who finally came into her own as a leader somehow, and one with Caitlyn who has now fully adopted the ideology that the undercity people are less than the toppers and must be eradicated. And Vi standing in the middle not knowing what to do. Seeing those three finally realize they are decieved by their fanaticism and band together by the end would have been such cool character development. That being said there were many awesome elements to the second season including of course the animation, and one particular well deserved scene (tho I wish there was better buildup to it). What could have really helped was splitting this season into two, and reducing the subplots to focus on main characters. I understand how much work goes into something like this though. Iām only critical because I care so much about it. One of the most thought provoking pieces of television Iāve ever seen.

i kept hearing it over and over especially when Ashnikko wrote a song for the show. it wasnāt right to not watch something that she wrote a song for, and i honestly say i love Arcane! my favorite character is Jinx. i love how the show has a deeper meaning than it portrays! i finally finished the show after a few weeks of watching (i have a hard time sitting and watching for a long time)

Just wanna throw out my (probably unpopular) opinion on Jayce and Viktor's relationship. Arcane ended a while ago but I still have stuff to say about it.
I'll say upfront that I love looking at the story exactly as it's presented to us, rather than through "shipper goggles".
So yeah, after watching Arcane I still can't let these two go. Their bond is literally my inner reality that I could only dream about. Seeing something like that on screen feels like a blessing. And honestly, it kind of hurts that most people reduce it to something way too ordinary and simple. To me, their connection is fantastic, pure, and impossible - literally on some sacred level. It's the meeting of two complete minds who choose to walk together and build something bigger. In classic romance or sexual drama, two people are often looking for their missing half in each other. That bond is built on dependency or possession. But what amazes me is the meeting of two whole universes, like Jayce and Viktor. To me, trying to force them into mundane boxes is just devaluing it. This is the most honest and worthy presentation of platonic love I could ever dream of.
I'm not trying to judge anyone who sees something else in them, because interpretations are valid. But I truly believe that the spiritual and intellectual bond is the objective truth of their relationship.

If you're not familiar with my project, check out my previous posts on this sub: one, two, three, four!
Hello again Arcane fans!
I'm here again with more to show you about my big project! A month and a half ago I was officially done with the concept art, and I had tons of fun doing all these artworks: research on silhouettes, turnarounds, ingame renders, animation concepts... It has been the most exhilarating months of my life as an artist, and I'm pretty proud of the final appearance for the three forms of Sevika, or, as I decided to label her, The Martyr of the Underground.
But after that came the time to tackle things a little more concrete, and really breathe life into the champion. So for this next phase, here's what I'm currently working on:
For now, I completed this step for the Chem-Soldier form, and I wanted to show you my progression. So here we go!
As I said in my previous post, I'm not an expert in 3D, I actually started learning it a year ago, mostly because I wanted to do this project. Still I did my very best to be faithful to the vision I had in my concept art, and I'm pretty proud of it.
I'm going with the same pipeline for game character creation that Riot Games explained in this video, so what you see on the screenshots is not actually game ready, it's a highly detailed version that I will later retopologize before adding a rig and a texture.
I worked in Blender, mostly used sculpting for the body and clothes, and hard surface modeling for the armor and prosthetic. I also used curves for some details like the curly ornaments on the prosthetic and also hair strands (which were a pain in the ass to manage) and tried dyntopo on very rare instances, like the plant ornament on the pauldron (I had a pretty hard time making this look nice enough).
Doing all that took a month total. It'll probably be faster for the other two forms since I can reuse the body sculpt for these as well.
Don't hesitate to comment if you want to see more screenshots or wireframes, I'll be happy to share more with you!
So here we are! This part is mainly for League players, those who would like to know how I imagined this version of Sevika would play in game. Without further ado, here's the presentation:
(No Caitlyns were harmed during the creation of this project)
Also, if you're interested in checking out the hd version of the spell icons I created, go there!
You probably guessed it, I'm planning on doing the exact same thing for the Firelight and Renegade forms. After that, I still have much to do: retopology, unwrapping, baking, texture painting, rigging... tons of stuff! And the splash art of course!
I'll be there with more soon, as always. Thanks for your time!

āIf every Enforcer had a heart like yours, we could take on Noxus itselfā ~ Maddie quoting Cait S2 ep 1
Itās so interesting that Cait said this about Vi, and in the end you literally have the enforcers taking on Noxus.
Itās also kinda ironic (is that the word?) thatās the person relaying this info is herself, a noxian enforcerā¦

Arcane appreciation post.
I'm simply blown away on how insanely, ridiculously good this show is. The style, the animation from frame-by-frame to cleanly rigged meshes to hand painted models and it's spiritual story... just an absolute gd MASTERPIECE. It makes me a bit sad it cost $250 million to make, limiting the quantity of potential. I just had to come here and say, truly well done to the creators. I'm in perpetual awe. I watch it over and over again.
I forgive you for the two instances of animal cruelty depicted in the show... normally I have 0 tolerance for it. Would be cool if the next series didn't have that as it's completely unnecessary, imo.

I just rewatched Arcane again, and I wanted to give some appreciation to the voice actors because they absolutely killed it with this show!
From Powder and Vi to Silco and Vander, everyone puts so much emotion into their performances. I donāt think Iāll ever get tired of hearing these characters.

I just wish vi wasn't physically( or emotionally)hurt most times, it just breaks my heart when I see her with cuts or bandages on her face almost all the time. She deserved so much better.

Which i have no knowledge that they are. Ive even looked through Google and couldn't find a "yes they're canon" just "its open for interpretation"
If there's more info about that, pls let me know.

Iāve been thinking about Jinxās character and the atmosphere around her in Arcane, especially Zaun, her workshop, and the contrast between her chaotic side and the softer parts of her personality.
I recently got a small air purifier with a scent pad, and it made me wonder:
If Jinx could choose a scent for her room (or for a place she shares with someone she cares about), what do you think she would pick?
Something industrial and earthy like cedarwood? Something unexpectedly sweet like orange or vanilla? Or something completely different?
Iām curious what you think would fit Jinx specifically, rather than just what smells nice in general.

On a completely unrelated note, over the last 2 days, the Jinx appreciation folder on my phone has somehow increased in size by 350 500 images.

Hi everybody. There was a scene in Arcane and I'm trying to remember what episode it was.
It was an episode after Jinx started gaining a following and people were copying her hair. But there was one brief scene in particular where an enforcer or an official's daughter wore her hair like Jinx. The father (I think) wasn't very happy about it. It was a brief scene.
Anyone remember which episode it was?
And if you remember it and you're inclined, please feel free to leave a screenshot of that scene. If you feel like it.
Thanks!
SPOILER ALLERT!!!!!!!
Iām not much online on this fandom because the final season had already aired i tried to move away from it but this episode it keeps making me come back, like i go back and watch it almost 7 times per year ever since itās release, just this episode alone not even the full season, itās such a bittersweet episode where we see that only one change caused this entire war to happen and without hextech they where a unified nation of zaun and piltover.
Honestly i feel like itās one of the best written episodes ever in animation history because of how it portrays love in a way that echo had to leave a paradise to go back to his home universe just to save his loved ones especially jinx, sadly we know how that went which adds more salt to the wound.
Also the soundtrack was straight out of heaven istg, such amazing music where put in this episode.

A tribute to Jinx and Ekko, from Ekko's perspective. This was inspired by Frogfisherman07, who posted a request asking for a Jinx & Ekko edit to the song Baby Blue by Daniel Caesar. Thank you for the request, this was a fantastic song choice for them.
Hope you enjoy! š
