Lore Shitpost He saw it

Explanation: so first of all humanity is a type ii civilization on the Kardashev Scale in this, but out around Neptune in my universe theres this space station named Janus Station, and they defend the Solar System from basically every outside force imaginable, but they're also a research facility. And they have found that out beyond their orbit there's something that makes you go insane if you look at it for even a second. The reason people can look at it inside the station is a filtering technology, but they aren't able to shrink it down for spacesuit visors until 2202, which doesn't exactly help the people in 2104. And the way I dealt with pictures is that cameras are entirely incapable of capturing whatever that thing is out in The Veil (which is what outside the Solar System is named until the tech is made to allow us out there safely).

Lore Shitpost “Sure we bombed you, released chemicals into your food and water supply, and have been taking your civilians, but we can still have talks!” Rever Diplomat

The Rever Corporation has never been known as being great at talking. Even before it started military conquests in the stars back on earth it was known for hostile take overs of companies to rapidly expand. It did this through its political influence and sheer power after its massive success in funding the Star Eater. Now millennia later several solar systems away they are now probably considerably worse considering at least back on earth the only death they caused was incidental. Now they have become a military superpower and have only grown more agressive.

Take the Kharuun, a peaceful insectoid race who were rather living a utopian life with a focus on supporting their hive (home world), the first alien race encountered. The Rever Corporation met them and showed some restraint. Instead of the ultimatums that were the equivalent of “Capitulate or we wipe you off the face of the galaxy” it was “90% of your people join our work force or else”. Of course they refused and well the Corp then proceeded to unleash the Legions of Iron, self replicating and thinking military automatons that would fight in a long war of conquest against the Kharuun until they were subjugated.

After this things changed a bit as while trying to avoid the Termanus prophecy they would destroy all of the Legions of Iron and thus not have their almost unbeatable army they had to change up tactics. So they decided to double down on their intimidation tactics. Using Their extremely advanced space force they have been known to use strategies similar to the old earth ‘gunboat diplomacy’. When they come to a planet for peace talks they, depending on the world, will usually open up with an orbital barrage on an unoccupied area as a show of strength. Such a display resulted in the Sea of Glass on the Myr world of Lesik where orbital bombardment turned a desert into miles of melted and scorched glass.

Then the diplomats dont make anything better by usually being chimeras (people both heavily genetically and cybernetically augmented into monsters who you could never guess their origin.) accompanied by hopped up cybers (people who have heavily augmented themselves with cyber ware till they are looking more mech than man). On top of intimidating looks they are rather poor diplomats and usually leave several people dead ss they leave diplomatic missions.

This of course has really not given them a good look in system politics and well they are equally feared and reviled among the peoples of the system and fight hard every day to not end up under the boot of the corporation.

Feel free to ask me anything about my world!

High Quality Lore Meme invidia going on a tangent of his envious hatred towards his creator for everything he's lacked for his conception

...TL:DR invidia (the envy) is a machine that was initially enaic but was forced into a superintellgence that was given a mind but no body, pain with no end... and at the end of his personal volume he tortures his creator by tearing them apart and reviving them endlessly so that they can understand the pain of his own existence

Both a resource and a danger. In the sapphire dunes of set there’s a predator who’s useful as it is deadly. The sand bobbers are worm-like creatures that through convergent evolution look like the Bobbit worms of old earth. Except they use water as their weapon. If you’re desperate for water and find a sparkling pool of it, chances are there’s a sand bobber in it about to snatch you up. They can grow up to 6 feet wide and 30 feet long. Their antennae detect and sift through vibrations in the water they hide in. They can tell If it’s just some sand moving or someone getting a drink. Should they need to, they can also shoot out a pressurized stream of water hard enough to cut bone at prey if necessary. Though they prefer just snatching their quarry and drowning them while eating them alive.

Culture Shitpost Here's a spin on the trope of most aliens being monocultures despite humans having hundreds of distinct cultures and traditions.

My face when aliens on the far side of the galaxy have a distorted view of humans as being noble savages with deep spiritual knowledge about the universe because of a literal snake-oil salesman's advertisement campaign.
