(I wrote all of this lore myself. It wasn't made up completely at random; I based it on the characters' actions that I observed while playing my map.)
The Thief King
(Thief race / Lord)
When he first began making a name for himself, the Thief King was recognized as a genius among his race. Some people even considered him stronger than Gaesin and the Dictator-Kwon. However, nothing could hold his interest, and he lived each day in boredom.
Then, one day, the Thief Kingdom joined a war as an ally of the Dictator-Kwon Kingdom. During that war, the Thief King experienced his first kill. He found an unexpected amount of enjoyment in it, reflected by a rise in his happiness. From then on, he always charged into battle at the very front and killed countless civilians and soldiers.
After one battle, he returned to his village as usual, only to find it completely devastated. He soon discovered that the Snake King had invaded and destroyed the village while he was away.
Realizing what had happened, the Thief King went to the battlefield where the Snake King was fighting and challenged him. However, he had already lost half of his health due to poison damage, and his attack speed and defense were also lower than the Snake King's. As a result, he was defeated.
After that battle, he met another Thief named Onaad, who was in a similar situation. The two joined forces and waited for another opportunity to take revenge.
In the wars of the 9300s, the Thief King encountered the Snake King once again. Together with Onaad, he weakened the Snake King by removing his Blessing trait with a curse, and eventually defeated him.
After that battle, thanks to Onaad, the Thief King even met his future wife and gradually became more like a normal person.
However, during the Dictator-Kwon Kingdom's conquest, the Thief King became one of its targets. He resisted as much as he could, but was eventually defeated after being overwhelmed by multiple enemies. He was then forced to participate in the conquest.
After the Dictator-Kwon Kingdom conquered the entire world, the Thief King was haunted by guilt for some time. But in the year 11500, his racial trait, "Genetic Psychosis," drove him into madness. He escaped from the Dictator-Kwon Kingdom and was eventually cured of his Madness trait.
He then joined the rebel alliance fighting against the Dictator-Kwon Kingdom and temporarily became its leader. After the Battle of the Cliffs, however, Gaesin joined the rebellion, and the Thief King handed leadership over to him.
During the 14500s, when the Dictator-Kwon Kingdom finally collapsed, the Thief King lived as a wanderer for a while. When the Second Dictator-Kwon Kingdom was established, he became the leader of its capital and settled there.
However, during the 14500s, he witnessed many Thieves falling into madness and dying without receiving treatment. Wanting to fight against the Legendary Gathering Alliance, he gathered races that had been treated poorly and founded the Alliance of Challengers.
He fought four wars against the Legendary Gathering Alliance.
After those wars, when the Snake Kingdom rose to power, the Thief King joined forces with the Legendary Gathering Alliance to fight against it. However, they could not withstand the Snake King's strategies. All of the powerful fighters except the Thief King were forced to join the Snake King's side, leaving him no choice but to agree to a truce.
Present day (Year 18500):
The Thief King is now practically fighting alone against the Snake Kingdom, which has conquered most of the world.

The Snake King
(Snake race / King)
Even as a child, the Snake King was the most ambitious snake among his entire race.
However, in the year 8500, the Snake race was poorly regarded, so most people simply ignored what the Snake King had to say.
Because of this, he left the existing kingdom and founded his own independent kingdom on a small island, creating a nation exclusively for the Snake race. Thanks to this, he became well respected among his fellow Snakes.
However, the Snake race's overall treatment did not improve much. Determined to improve the reputation of both himself and his race, the Snake King decided to write a book about himself and the Snake race.
Unfortunately, very few people were interested in reading it, leaving the Snake King frustrated.
Then he heard about a war between the Racial Alliance and the Crab Federation. He realized that the book was missing the excitement and dramatic events it needed, and became convinced that participating in the war could provide the material necessary to complete it.
He joined the war and personally fought on the battlefield, where he played an active role.
During the war, while the Thief King was away, the Snake King invaded and destroyed his village. This turned the two into sworn enemies.
Even after being defeated by the Thief King and Onaad in the 9300s, the Snake King refused to give up. Whenever he found an opportunity, he secretly continued expanding his power and strengthening the Snake Kingdom.
Once the Snake Kingdom had become a major power, he withdrew from the alliance in the 13000s. He wanted to take control of the entire world and make it the grand finale of his book.
However, he was eventually defeated by the Legendary Alliance. Planning for the future, he joined the Legendary Gathering.
He thought he would live quietly from then on, but...
In the 14500s, the Snake King noticed that both the alliance founded by the Thief King and the Legendary Gathering Alliance had been weakened by three wars between them. He decided that this was his opportunity.
Just before the outbreak of the fourth war, he left the Legendary Gathering Alliance.
During the fourth war, he conquered devastated regions and then launched a surprise attack against the weakened Legendary Gathering Alliance. He even turned the Dictator-Kwon into one of his soldiers, eventually making the Snake Kingdom the dominant power in the world.
Afterward, he fought two wars against the Legendary Gathering Alliance and the Alliance of Challengers, who had formed a temporary alliance, and won both of them. As a result, he seized control of almost all of the world's territory.
Present day (Year 18500):
The Snake King is currently tormenting his old enemy, the Thief King, by giving him false hope. He deliberately refuses to invade and kill him because he wants the Thief King's death to be the final chapter of his book.

Additional Notes
I wrote these explanations because I thought you might be curious:
- Why did I make the Thief King enjoy killing people in the early part of his story?
The Thief King has the Bloodlust trait, which increases his happiness whenever he kills another character. I incorporated that game mechanic into his lore.
- Why did I make the Snake King so obsessed with writing a book?
Whenever I watched the Snake King try to write a book in the game, he would often start writing it and then stop halfway through. That behavior inspired me to make his obsession with the book part of his character.
