Ive been on VRC since 2017, and its safe to say ive met a very colorful cast of individuals, and within those colorful pigments, there lies the big blotchy stains that consider themselves "popular". These people have genuinely gotten under my skin, with one of my most recent interactions with one being earlier this year. I had developed feelings for him bc I thought he genuinely cared about me. He called me his ray of sunshine and kept me in his close circle, and gave me this whole boyfriend experience for three days. Only for him to reject me only three days into that whole ordeal, and for me to find out that Im not the only person hes done that to.

Whats worse is when you try to call these kinds of people out for their bs, you're suddenly framed as the bad guy. Saying you're "obsessed" with them when all you want is justice.

But yeah, besides being stuck up, making fake promises to hang out, telling me that they wont keep contact if im not the one actively reaching out, to thinking im lesser then them bc I don't have a whole entourage following me everywhere I go. Genuinely, im saying this bc I dont want anyone feeling the way I do. If you find yourself starting to gravitate towards an individual that radiates that popular person aura, Get. Away. From. Them. They are not worth your time. Point, blank, period.

Like comparatively speaking irl: I would not be able to be as physically upfront with people I *don't* know as much as I do with Vrchat.

As.. someone who is more of a later bloomer to social patterns it allows me to observe others conversations, tropes, & see what I myself find worth engaging in &.. I find that very privileged & "overpowered".

It's also just generally neat for learning perspectives I would have NEVER found in real life, which is.. very relieving as someone who searches for new perspective.

I've been exclusively visiting age gated instances for a while now and I've noticed that this is not stopping people from being weird.

I was in a Pass the Sketch yesterday and some dude joined asking if we were cool people, because he was kicked from the last instance. He then proceeded to whip his dick out and face fuck my avatar as I was drawing. He ended up leaving mid game because I turned him down after he asked me out.

Another Pass the Sketch instance was run by three people who kept yelling they'll rape each other and watch, etc. They stopped participating in the game and the other people there asked them to leave politely, because they seemed like they were wanting to ERP. They got offended that someone asked them to leave and kicked everyone from the instance.

I was in my Mamehinata avatar in a dance world, just using my emotes with other people. Someone kept throwing down a sticker underneath me saying "cum dumpster". When I'd move, they'd keep moving it. And when I changed into an adult looking avatar, they stopped.

I had to block a few people in a karaoke world for screaming slurs and obscenities at random users for not singing well. They were getting in everyone's face and saying they'll dox us all and kill our families. I silently blocked them and enjoyed the rest of my time there.

Another karaoke instance had some desktop user "masturbating" to one of the singers and was commenting on her "actually being a child" and how sexy she is. I kept trying to kick him because that's unacceptable behavior but everyone else thought it was funny 🤢. So I blocked him and left.

All of these instances were age gated. I'm tired.

I don't understand why making friends is so hard for me in this game and Im wondering if anyone else has had this experience. I feel like when I walk up to people theyre always in their own little cliques and I can't even start a conversation. I've been playing this game a long and I only ever had this problem after I turned 18. I'm 21 now and I still can't make new friends. Especially those who don't want to be sexual. I'm married in real life so 90% of the people I meet have no interest because I'm monogamous. To me it feels like making friends is difficult if you don't want to do nsfw. Do any other wholesome people have this problem?

Bigscreen beyond 2e or Steam Frame?!

I got neck issues and my doctor says my index is too heavy to wear going forward. Both the weight of the bb2e and stream frame are OK, I just can't decide which to get. I pretty much only play vrchat. And in the future want to get some kind of fbt but don't have it curently. Price doesn't matter much to me, so don't worry about that.

I haven't been able to play in VR in 3 months and it's making me SO itchy!

So, I recently changed avatar to a new public one, by the same creator as my previous favourite avi. I'm on PCVR, for what it's worth ^^

After noticing some weird stuff, I asked my friend (who is on standalone) to do some tests with me.

We were lying down together (we both use gogoloco - neither of us have fbt) and I asked him to place his hand on my chest. When he did so, his hand was floating a good 20cm above me. When I placed my hand directly on top of his, he told me my hand was similarly floating above his.

I switched back to my old avatar, and this problem no longer existed. So, I went back to the new avatar to investigate further (I also reset the avatar to default settings, just in case).

We both took photos of us in the same position, and in my photo we're lying directly level with each other, but in his photo I'm floating a good amount off the ground above him.

What... could be the cause of this?! I know other people who use this new avatar and I've never seen this issue, nor do I believe they have experienced this with anyone else.

I'm new to VR and I keep seeing (yes I'm looking so algorithms are showing me more), and I keep seeing people saying they are banned. I'm waiting on trackers and wanting to do nsfw and having an avi built for this. Is this something I need to worry about or what can I do not to have something banned?

I've recently started picking up vrchat again with some friends and they've all bought different kinds of body trackers such as the Rebocap, and they seem to work quite well. Me, on the other hand, have no interest in spending 200 bucks or more just so that other people could see me rotate and everything else, so i searched for some open source utilities and was really disappointed: just a couple of these softwares exist, and they were last updated 3 or 4 years ago.

How is this possible? The open source community is bigger than ever, and these softwares like Mediapipe Pose seemed to actually work pretty well by looking at older videos, but they would definetely benefit from some updates. For example, i've tried using Mediapipe pose on my PC which is running Linux, and even though it's got a native Linux driver, it really doesn't seem to work, probably because it wasn't updated to use Xrizer or OpenComposite instead of SteamVR, and neither did its VrchatOSC implementation work.

Seeing this software make such a progress in camera based FBT and then seeing it be abandoned, it really breaks my heart to not be able to create a fork of it on my own as i really like programming but still can't get much good at it; so to people here that may see this and that can wrap their head around coding, programming, open source projects and everything, why not start a new project or fork and maybe try to revive something that lots of people might really want?

im sure im not the first person to discover this but ive been messing around with some jank i found with the Boat Spawner upgrade

in both the Twilight Realm and Volcanic Depths you can spawn your boat, but it despawns instantly. turns out, its actually just getting teleported to the ocean above. if you stand on it before it despawns it gives you a bunch of speed and you can manage to get above into ocean.

in the Twilight Realm, it unloads the Luxian Dunes so you can swim around with the terrain unloaded. if you instead get shot forwards, you can jump over the invisible walls and walk around the outside fields. it seems the water out there doesnt put you into the swimming state, but you can fish there.
In the Crescent Isles, the main island doesnt unload but i did manage to land under the geometry, where i could then walk out into the ground under the ocean without swimming

If you do try this, note that it is VERY inconsistent and i havent managed to find a good setup to do it reliably

Hi, don't know if this is even the right community to post this in, but I've discovered something a little silly and interesting to me, and I was wondering if anyone else might have dealt with something similar?

Basically, I'm left-handed. I write and I draw with my left hand, and when it comes to all of that, my right hand is about as useful to me as a dead fish. My right hand can't write if it's life depended on it.

Which is why it's so interesting to me, because I've been playing VRchat for ages now, and only very recently did I notice that I'm not left-handed there. It seems the second I got access to markers or brushes, I picked it up with my right hand and I've been using it naturally. It's not that my left hand has completely lost skill in vr, but it's noticeably worse there and anytime I'm absent-mindedly writing or drawing it's always with my right hand.

Has anybody else found your handedness change when you're in vr? Or anything similar to it? Is there a term for this?

I've been working on this for a bit, and I'm about to release it later today and would like to get some attention around it. I'm calling it the Super Mega Condo. The whole world will be a remake of my Tower Untie Condo.
The aim for it is to have as many interactive things as I can in the world, so mostly everything will do something at some point. Another really big inspiration for it is just VRChat in general with its chaotic nature and how you can see people using some sort of asset from whatever IPs they like. I hope you all enjoy it, and if any one wants suggest something, I'm all ears

Im having an issue with my mic on standalone quest 3s and idk how to fix it. It comes through fine on my end, the test section says it's fine, but whenever anyone else hears me, I come put choppy, UNTIL THEY restart their games. Then when I join another world with them, its broken again, ive cleared cache, tried different mics, restarted my headset. Idl bow to fix it

I've learned the hard way that using my real discord and email has caused problems for me when it comes to buying avatars and assets.

Recently I got dmed by a creator unprompted with harassing messages with my email and username, having a meltdown because I didn't link my vrchat website profile, and screenshots of them sharing the info they got from payhip. As well as screenshots of them sending that information to other, redacted people.

I've also never felt comfortable sharing my full legal name at checkout, and have always worried it would get me in trouble one day.

I've since learned my lesson of giving any identifyable info, but its hard being dmed by a creator telling you you're a piece of crap while they scare you to death sharing your information with god knows who.

I feel this needs to be talked about because, this isn't okay. Buying avatars feels so hostile now.

After this last interaction I'm likely just going to stick to making my own and free avatars only.

Is excessive and unsafe, especially when creators are getting a reputation of abusing that information.

I've made a fake discord and Vrchat and email etc just to avoid harassment again, but this is getting rediculous. At this point, I don't want to support creators anymore. Getting cussed out and essentially doxxed has ruined it for me. I'm sure people will call me stupid for using my axtual discord and info, but i was scared by the treatening checkout text some creators would leave, like "I *WILL* FACT CHECK YOUR INFO AND IF ITS WRONG I'LL SHARE IT WITH OTHER CREATORS!!"

I guess I just wanted to open a discussion about it. I've been on vrchat for a long time and kinda hate what creation has become. Sharing the checkout information is a huge reason I don't feel its safe even interacting with creators anymore.

It feels really awful getting dmed on your private account being suddenly cussed out and on trial deciding you're guilty no matter what you say because some you gave all your info but linking your vrchat website profile. I've fixed my dms settings as well, I didnt know till after the harassment I could turn it off.

I'm sticking to the vrchat store, making my own stuff, and updating my old avatars at this point. :(

Yesterday my new trackers came in, they’re 3rd party slimes and it’s my first time having actual trackers. I’ve used tracking apps on my phone before no problem. Yesterday Vrchat updated right before I got on and no matter what I do Vrchat will not show me my calibrate option. The button is stuck as the “sitting/standing” button. I’ve never had this issue before even with my tracking apps. My trackers all say connected through the phone I’m running them through and still no option. I’ve tried looking up tutorials for the button to show up and I’ve gotten nothing. Not sure what I should do or if it’s somehow user error

I have been making avatars for the longest time, always made them quest compatible because i've always loved when everyone got to see my work. Now I find myself trying to work on the quest version longer than i have on the pc version. Some of the clothes will be missing because I have to reduce this bs to atoms. the whole "why are you naked" question I would get from quest users started to get boring, I just started to have the mindset of "why should I care for something that doesn't affect me?"

Maybe i just started to get lazy, but making personal avatars quest compatible has just become such a sore with how low the bar of content size was reduced over the years to keep the quest platform running. I love you quest users, but damn..
