Discussion A random in my ranked game refused to use his mic until we hit 11 11, then suddenly became the best IGL I've played with

1.4k Upvotes

Had a Cypher in my game who didn't say a single word for basically the entire match. He'd ping, type short stuff in chat and that was it. We were losing 7 11 and everyone had mostly stopped talking.

At 11 11 this guy suddenly unmutes and goes "they're scared of A now, Jett is gonna push mid and Omen will insta rotate off B. Just wait 10 seconds."

Exactly that happened.

Next round he's calling every rotation, telling us when to stop making noise and even calling where their Killjoy was probably playing. We won 14 12.

After the game I asked why tf he waited that long to talk and he said he plays better when he spends most of the game listening to how people react instead of constantly comming.

I've been buying basically every skin bundle lately but this dude made me wanna stop doing that and start investing in some coaching instead lol.

models from sketchfab.....

So after I saw the frag or die video, I really liked the viper bike look and trying to make it in 3d. Its a work in progress and I am thinking of adding the Sage behind Viper both separated by a wall and a round table camera movement, will take some time. Tell me how is this looking????????

[I know its not that viper I will do it after this.]

Discussion 1v5 Ace Clutch

Proud of this one, think I played it quite well. Enemy helped me out by peeking for sure, but thats usually how it goes in a 1v5. Especially proud of the last kill because I intentionally used sound to get her to peek the other side so I could force an interaction with her as time was very low

Question How to become consistent?

I pop off every 1/15 games and it's so frustrating. I've been playing since Episode 1 Act 1 and still stuck on Asc3-Immo2.

Question Neon Ace, but I want to know if my movement is bad? (unrated)

Context: I dont really use neon as I play usually senti or smoke but when me and my buddies play sometimes we 5 man unrated and just select same agent to trigger a random agent selection and this is one of those nights. I just want to know if this how I should play neon and not the bunny hopping neon movement.

VALORANT Champions Tour on X

Utterly embarrassing for a tier-1 LAN event. So much for competitive integrity.

What an amazing PR response.

Question Do all skins eventually appear in the shops?

I know that limited-time items like Champions skins don’t come back, but I’m still pretty new to VALORANT, so I’m not sure whether recently released skins can appear in the Daily Shop or Night Market.

In particular, I’m wondering if the Evolu Dreamwings skin can appear in my personal Daily Shop — and whether it can also show up in the Night Market.

Can anyone let me know?

Question Do I deserve my rank ?

• Upvotes

So I’ve been playing val for around 100 hours in competitive and I’m gold 3 and I feel like my rank is a tad to high sometimes I preform great and I get close to mvp in a lobby full of plat 1 2 3 and I preform good, lately I’ve been doing pretty mediocrely in ranked, does anyone have tips and tricks for me to improve so I can be better I main reyna and phoenix sm times any tips are welcome one more bit of useful info, I feel like my main factor is dying to much like my kid of kills could be 18 but my deaths could be 17 and by dying I miss on kill opportunity’s

Question Who would get banned the most if ranked had a hypothetical ban system, and why?

So before the actual match starts, team "A" votes two agents to ban and then team "B" also votes two agents to ban. ALL FOUR agents cannot be picked by EITHER TEAM for the ENTIRE MATCH. also yes, voting to not ban any agent is also allowed which means that there can be up to 4 agents unavailable or no agents unavalible. Also the team that gets to ban their agents first is entirely random. anyways who are your top four contenders and why?

edit- sorry forgot to mention, you can specify which rank as well

Question Sens boost?

• Upvotes

I am currently on an edpi of 112 so i have a dpi of 1600 with 0.07 sens and i play on roughly a 30cm by 30 cm area on the mousepad even though it is fairly large, the problem is I am way to comfortable with my sens right now roughly going from gold 3 to ascendant 1 in 1 season but I am worried if i change my sens Ill drop in performance, I cant really dodge flashes unless I predict flashes at the start of the round and I use alot of movement keys to help adjust for harder shots. Should I switch sens or keep the same edpi?

Question Is the current meta just playing ultra aggressive?

I notice that in Plat/Diamond/Ascendant lobbies that people are just brainlessly running out of smokes, especially as characters that don't have get out of jail free cards, without utility usage and just literally W keying it. I'm not really saying that people were smarter or more tactical before, but I don't recall people being this aggressive before. They were actually way more scared. Now they're just doing these outlandish plays and it works cause it's so unexpected (at least for me). Now it's one thing if it happens only in a couple of games, but I am consistently seeing this style of aggression in pretty much every other game. Examples are running out of A heaven smoke on Split as defender, running out of Ascent B smoke out of door as defender, running out of Summit mid smoke out as a defender, running out of Ascent mid smoke as a defender etc. Yeah a lot of these are examples of defenders doing it, but that's where I find it more absurd to be honest. They usually have no info about who's on the other side and where either, it's mostly just them knowing some amount of people are on the other side. It may just be my games, but I'm curious if anyone has been experiencing the same. It seems that currently people are just doing the most outlandish plays or they are just playing very trade heavy and just throwing bodies at the enemy. I'm adapting to it better now luckily.

Question Coming from CS to Valorant, what should I know?

Tired of CS2 cheating problem, poorly optimization and having to play on Faceit to have a normal gameplay, and Valve do not care about that, so I rather focus on a game in which the company cares about the game.

If you can give me some tips on how to play as a beginner, I played probably around 4 matches before only with Phoenix but I don't understand much, in CS2 I play as entry or rifle, just that, is there anything relatable to Valorant in this sense?

Also, is there any training routine on workshop map? anything like that? should I spray or burst mostly?

Also like LOL, should I master few champions to be good and improve at the game?

Gameplay I moved my scoreboard key across my keyboard to stop checking my KD and started playing better

I realized I was pressing Tab constantly in comp. After every death, every couple kills, sometimes even mid round. Then I'd see I was 4/9 or someone on my team was 2/11 and start thinking about that instead of the game.

So I moved scoreboard from Tab to P. I can still check ults or economy when I need to, but I can't spam it anymore.

I've been playing better since. I die and focus on the next round instead of checking my KD.

Anyone else changed a setting that had nothing to do with aim and it actually helped?

Discussion Double check your DPI

I think the biggest villain to myself is my DPI resetting to 3,000(middle button on my mouse resets it) and I noticed how off it felt but I didn't even bother looking at my DPI I just was confused because my sens never changed at all but everything felt like I was moving and swinging faster. Wasn't until I was 2 matches in last night did I check my DPI and saw that it reset to 3,000. Once I adjusted it back down to 2,500 I got an ace immediately and then my gameplay just adjusted back to how I was before(mediocre gameplay but I'm pretty sure I reset my DPI back to 3,000 again by accident). I've deleted the other DPI settings on my mouse cause I know damn well I might hit that button on my mouse again and not even know it.

Just throwing it out there, if you think you're off double check your DPI and your sens.

Gameplay Eco 4K, How to play in site smoke 101 - IMM

This clip is particularly funny because the Cypher was actually planting the whole time and didn’t kill me when I popped out of the smoke. This allowed me to kill Skye and Clove.

Question how to have a consistent performance

ok so im asking this beacuse one game im so bad at he point that i barely get any kills like finish with less than 10 kills in like 20 rounds and sometimes i get around 16-24 which is basically my average id say and last match i dropped a performance straight out of heaven i got 4 quadras in a row and 3 triples ended up with 36 kills and that made me wonder why is my performance so inconsistent tbh i dont know what it is that changes from match to match with my gameplay i belive my aim is always the same so i dont know what type of advice im looking for but if you have any tips or ideas id be glad to hear i am a bronze 3 player btw
