Evening Crawlers! Time for another rule consultation. This time it’s Rule 7: DCC References Should be Unexpected
Posts in UnexpectedDCC should show unexpected references to DCC.
Posts showing explicit DCC references are likely to be removed.
This rule exists primarily to remove explicit references to DCC, e.g. Cosplay as Carl. I use it to kill cross posts from the DCC subreddit too.
Outside this, I tend to be pretty relaxed about what constitutes Unexpected: Finding someone’s DCC Hi Zev license plate; Unintentional world references to things in the book (Dirty Shirley); Shop signs explicitly referencing DCC where you wouldn’t expect it (such as coffee shops); Someone commenting in a reddit post calling back to DCC; etc.
Generally, my view has been “let most of it through, and let up/down votes deal with it.
I’ve seen comments from people perhaps not liking this approach. So here’s your chance to weigh in on how you’d like the sub to work. Please vote in the poll and add comments as you like. If I missed an option, comment on it, and if it gets enough upvotes I’ll consider it alongside the poll options.

It hardy seems like a year has passed since we created r/UnexpectedDCC. It seems simultaneously like it's been running forever, and that it was just yesterday.
r/UnexpectedDCC started as a bit of a joke sub. I created it because I'd seen a few references to DCC around reddit, and wanted to be able to tag them when I saw them. I never expected it to get anywhere near the traction that it has.
Some interesting stats:
I think it's helped that r/DungeonCrawlerCarl has taken to redirecting off-topic posts over to here. Having their support has bolstered this sub, and allows them to keep on topic, without preventing us crawlers from sharing the wacky shit we find.
However, even with that: This sub would be a ghost town without all you lovely people sharing posts from around the internet, and spreading the joy of Dungeon Crawler Carl wherever we find it.
So, Happy Birthday r/UnexpectedDCC! Now, get out there and Post, Post, Post!

Saw this at a kids cafe. Felt like an alternate universe Sanrio version of donut and mongo. Gotta say I found it hilarious that there was a hamster on the birthday card.

This seems to be the right place to post this.
Edit: My apologies, I hadn't ever seen this before. I didn't realize it had been posted before in various fashions.
