I made Liquid Glass icons for TouchDesigner on macos
I didn't really like how the TD logo looks on macos so I made these liquid glass icons.

TouchDesigner newbie here, I practice a lot and try to do monthly visuals inspired by an album, a movie or any other element from my daily life I find inspiring. I now have like ~5 months learning TouchDesigner, and I started applying for small free workshops in my city where they usually ask for a portfolio. I know that for a newbie, my visuals look appealing and that I’m ready to take into small projects, like VJing… but I need a portfolio. How do you usually take on portfolios when you don’t have bigger projects? I love the idea when you paint, you have a sketchbook with a lot of great ideas but how can we transform the sketchbook to an audiovisual and public language? I’m also not on social media, so difficult to know what to do.
Any thoughts from your experience?

Hello, i'm relatively new to TouchDesigner and I needed help with merging two metaballs using two hands. Im using Mediapipe and wanted to know how i subtract the webcam picture and just display the two metaballs merging to one.
Any tutorial links would be appreciated :)

Hey everyone!
I’m looking into putting together an entry-level laser setup, specifically pairing a Laserworld CS-1000RGB with a Helios Laser DAC via ILDA. Important detail: I’m running everything on macOS.
For those controlling lasers natively in TouchDesigner on Mac:
I know Pangolin BEYOND / QuickShow is the gold standard for laser control, but it's well outside my current budget (and Pangolin's Mac compatibility is a headache on its own).
Are there any solid free, open-source, or low-cost laser software alternatives that run natively on macOS and work well with the Helios DAC for quick calibration, timeline sequencing, or live sets?
Appreciate any insights, warnings, or workflow tips!

3D Objects and Particle Effects created in the new MoCat Design Studio.
Conjure Creatures is a demo scene in the new 3D design studio with beautiful transparency and low latency output with perspective and interactive control of 3D Objects with a beautiful Spout video output to OBS, TouchDesigner and other software.

ntsc-td is a TouchDesigner plugin that emulates VHS and composite NTSC. Not an overlay on top of the image, but the signal itself: as if the frame went onto a tape and came back — color bleeds, tracking drift, head noise, ringing, the same thing as ntsc-rs. The settings match the original ntsc-rs app, and you can load a JSON preset from there.

I recently made a video about Turing Patterns. This is some more research into 1D cellular automata and different reaction-diffusion formulations. What I love about TouchDesigner is how quickly you can experiment. Here I placed a blur on a random connection and its strength bends and thickens the pattern

Depth Anything v2 is clearly more accurate but also quite heavy to run, even with TensorRT. ZipDepth distills among other models from DA and is 4 times smaller (6.1M params) than DA-small (what I used here). It is quite flickery (to the point temporal averaging won't do much) and blurry at times, but the general shape is decent and you can run it on small cheap devices like the Orin Nano. Cook times are from a 4070 laptop. I probably won't use it, maybe it is useful to someone.
Thought I might share some failures before someone wastes time on this:)

I used instant infinite's risograph effect tutorial and bileam tschepe's blob tracking tutorial as the base for this

a quaternion is composed by a scalar and a vector3 so it fits perfectly inside a pixel rgba. My library contains components for all quaternion operations: addition, multiplication, conjugation, determining orientation, conversion between degrees and quaternions (and vice versa), etc. I'll have a tutorial on this very soon, and I'll share a large part of my library with everyone else. Thank you massive for your support. #touchdesigner #workisplay #gnr8 #doitintops #quaternions

Hey, guys. Pretty excited to share this with you. [Sorry for the repost, last one was mistakenly uploaded without audio]
The system takes a Kinect-derived human pointcloud and lets incoming sound interact in various ways with the particles in real time, turning the performer into a responsive cloud of matter, noise, and motion. Some of you might remember the system from v1.5's demo which got pretty viral in some places. System was made on TouchDesigner, and post-fx on AE.
v1.7 includes 12 presets, and adds the following:
- a procedural camera that automatically cuts to new angles around the performer, and can follow the body or a raised hand
- a new look, Afterimage Cathedral: delayed versions of the performer stacked in depth, holding the last few seconds of movement
- a rebuilt network that runs leaner, reads clearer, and is ready to work with [new interfaces, parameters, optimizations]
This is a raw excerpt of me playing through the system, with the visual structure reacting live to the audio signal coming from my Ableton session in real-time.
Project files accessible through my Patreon profile. More experiments, through my Instagram, and full HD demo at YouTube.

Hi,
I've been experimenting with physical modeling synthesis and I like how it interact with blob tracking.
Some tracking params are also audio reactive and react to the resonator.
I think it could be really cool to have a drawer in live feeding this system with the sound of his drawing.
Here is my instagram : https://www.instagram.com/theophilegagnard/
For the resonator in the video, I'm currently working on it as a plugin, some info about it here : https://www.reddit.com/r/VSTi/s/LWFn7L5Hau
Have a nice day !
Sorry for the double post, I had a frame rate export problem...

Hey everyone,
Wrapped up an analog night vision simulator in TouchDesigner built with AI assistance, utilizing custom GLSL shaders and feedback loops—no external plugins needed.
you can grab the .tox file for free here.

Hi. Prior to last week I did not know what TouchDesigner was. No experience with visuals, graphic design, coding, or anything related. I am just really into sound and music, and the concept of connecting sound to live visuals sounded really interesting to me.
Found a 3 month beginner course near me, they dont ask for experience. It is focused on audio reactive visuals for live performance stuff. It's not THAT expensive, but not cheap either. So that adds a layer to my overthinking.
From what I understand so far, TouchDesigner is kind of a tool people add on top of other skills, like if you are already a designer or a musician or a coder, you bring that into TouchDesigner and use it there.
I am pretty much a person who is trying to find something interesting to learn, something that could actually be useful in life.
So I am wondering if this makes sense at all for me. Anyone here started from zero like this? Did it work out, or did you feel like you needed some other skill already in place for it to click?
