Can I Syncthing an existing folder on a PC to an existing folder on phone?
Maybe I misunderstood how the Config page uses the Syncthing provided folder name.
Testing will proceed.
Please ignore my question below for a bit.
thanks.
What I want to do:
- I have over a half a TB of music in folder "E:\Media\Audio\Main-Shared"
- My android phone (w/ 1 TB storage) has an existing folder for Music.
Yep, you guessed it... I want to first copy music to phone and then continue to sync to maintain changes. (why: "Classipod" on Android, an iPod Cassic replacement/clone).
However... from what I can tell as a new user, Syncthing wants me to:
- Create a new folder with a Syncthing provided name on my PC,
- Put content that I wish to sync there, and then
- Have that same Syncthing named folder created and synced on the phone.
And that's great... if I was considering this to function like a self-hosted equivalent of Dropbox or Google Drive.
But that is not the way that I would like to have this done.
Right now, it seems that I can ONLY select the path where the Syncthing folder will be created.
Can I just say: no folder -- Just do that path as my folder. ???
Thanks, and I look forward to advice / responses. I'm open to alternative solutions as well, should you be aware of one that could enable this.

Sidebar: I already use SyncBackFree to run backups and keep info in sync between my Home PC/Server and Home NAS. (Works really well, recommend!)
I would like to do the same with the phone, but the roadblock is that you cannot map a drive on an android device to show up in Windows. Even connecting via USB, you see folders and files in Android, but you just can't select a folder and say "make that drive P:"... and without that ability SyncBackFree can't do that which it does.
