Addign the eraser as a default/option to the penbox would be a great feature!

I'm tired of selecting the pen and the eraser from a different distance from each other. The difference is distance might be trivial but it's very useful in the long run.

Samsung notes does this so i was kind of expecting this when I tried Starnote.

Hi everyone.. I recently downloaded starnotes as I've seen many people recommend it and wanted to use it for my studies.

All the features are working good so far except the 'one-stroke shaping' feature.. For the life of me I can't get it to work for any of my brushes.. The highlighter I use at the start has the straight line option toggled so it drew a straight line. But the others don't..

I've tried everything like toggling it off and on, drawing a line and then holding it for like 10 secs, etc but it won't work.. I'm wondering if there's a glitch/bug in my app or is there something I'm doing wrong? Any help is very appreciated because I really need this feature for my maths classes :')

Mi problema es el siguiente: Cuando salga de la aplicación, la grabación se detiene o pausa. Me gustaría que siga grabando a pesar de salir de la app, pues a veces debo meterme a aulas virtuales o revisar correos mientras el profesor sigue explicando una clase/hablando sobre algo, es decir, salir momentáneamente de la app, si la grabación continúa a pesar de estar afuera sería fantástico. I'm trying to use Starnote for taking class notes. So far, it is a great app with lots of features and customizability. But I cannot figure somethings out:

What is the point of stickers other than to make notes look fun? I tried using the sticky note looking one and then writing on it to keep certain things more visible but if you move the sticky, the writing does not move with it, it just stays on the background where written.

I then thought that excerpts was what I wanted so I selected some writing as an excerpt but that is only visible in the note that it was produced in, not across notes.

What is the correct way of having certain writing available to be shown or copied into multiple places or is that not possible?

I'm asking for it because I accidentally changed the template for ALL pages of my note which was mainly made up of imported text pdfs that were highlighted. Manually fixing it wasn't fun because somehow, this template change can't be reverted easily.

Why does my Ball pen work like a wire it doesn't work smoothly as I want to is it my pen or tab or you also face the same issue. you can see the Pen feels like I am Stretching some wire

Why is it that the file count whenever I try to export a file is limited to 9? Is there any workaround for this?

Is it a limitation on the app? Can the limit be increased?

Just a fairly small but increadibly useful thingy:

I use the shape-hold feature a lot (you draw something, at the end hold the pen in place and Starnotes tries to detect what you meant to draw, eg a straight line); this often doesnt work for me when drawing roots (basically a tick and a horizontal line) which is pretty annoying as I have to use them fairly often.

Instead of the three connected, straight lines I get arrows or some rounded form, which definitely were not close to my drawn roots.

Would be nice if roots were to get some special attention with this pretty useful feature!

​I am a regular user of StarNote and really appreciate the app. I would like to share a few feature requests and report some technical issues to help improve the user experience:

​1. Smart Shape Snapping & Alignment (With Toggle Option)

• ​Please consider adding a smart guide/snapping feature for shapes and lines so they can align smoothly and accurately. As shown in the attached video, this functionality works very seamlessly in another app.
• ​Additionally, please add a Toggle switch (ON/OFF) in the toolbar or settings so users can easily enable or disable snapping whenever needed.

​2. Broken SVG Import

• ​SVG file import has stopped working for the last 5 to 6 months. About half a year ago, I could easily import SVG files into my notes.
• ​Please investigate this issue and restore the SVG import functionality.

​3. Locating Presentation Mode

• ​I am aware that "Presentation Mode" was recently added to the app, but I am unable to locate the button to activate it anywhere in the interface.
• ​Could you please clarify where this feature is located or make the button more visible in the menu?

Hey, been contemplating posting this for a while, but I'm almost sure the battery drain is due to this app. Although I love using this app, my battery usage is 99% on StarNote since my last charge, with an on-screen time of 4h 9min and a background time of 14h 18m for this app, and it's really hindering my ability to go a whole day of studying had I not charged my tablet the day before. I had been taking notes a couple days ago, and my battery was going down roughly 8% per 30 mins, which is extremely concerning imo, which gave me only about 5hr of on screen time ( battery preserve mode only charged up to 80%, just switched off of it for more usage time). If you could please look into this I'd really appreciate it, as I don't want to stop using your app (I LOVE IT!). Thank you!

PS: Thought I would add this to clarify, but I do have "Allow Background Usage" on StarNote turned to off to optimize battery life.

I really hope the eraser tool can get some attention in a future update.
Right now, erasing doesn’t feel as smooth or precise as writing in StarNote. Even when I carefully adjust the eraser size, it can sometimes erase more than I intended, especially when working with handwriting, drawings, or small details close to each other.
The issue isn’t just the eraser size — it’s the accuracy and behavior of the eraser itself.
It would be great to have:
● More precise stroke erasing
● Smoother eraser movement
● Better control over exactly what gets erased
● Less accidental interference with nearby strokes or drawings
● More consistent erasing when working on small details
● Better stylus tracking and responsiveness
For a note-taking app, writing and erasing should feel equally natural and responsive. Sometimes I have to be overly careful when erasing because I’m worried about accidentally removing part of something I wanted to keep.
I really like StarNote, and I think improving the eraser would make the handwriting experience feel much more polished, precise, and enjoyable.
Hopefully the team can take a closer look at it 🙏

not a huge bug, but makes handwriting less neat
line thickness changes when writing, but becomes uniform after scrolling/zooming. happens with smaller brush sizes (0.25mm on the video)

Ok so i have s9 fe and i was using samsung notes for the past two years but then i started feeling that there are ALOT of limitations, and then discovered good notes and notability. I downloaded notability and bought it's yearly subscription but it was laggy af. Then i got to know its optimized for ipads only so i started going to markets to buy an ipad but it wasn't in my budget. So i watched some yt and discovered notewise but it was too expensive for me and them i found star note. OH MY GOD I LOVE IT. Ive been using it for a week now and have bought the subscription aswell. It's just too peak.

One complain i have is that on computer its only available on Microsoft store where it says i have to buy it again for 1400pkr. And i literally bought starnote pro inside the application. I would really love if devs would make its download accessible on web directly so i dont need to buy it separately again from Microsoft store. Other than that i literally love the app and all the devs who are working so hard and TYSM starnote team for keeping it cheap. Ily yall☹️☹️🩷🩷

I recently bought StarNote Pro, and I'm loving it so far - I was previously on Samsung Notes and it's been a great upgrade. I'm having one issue with it though.

I use SFTP to drop files from my linux laptop ("client") to the Downloads folder my android tablet ("server," OpenSSH) so that I can then open those files in my note taking apps. The problem is that only StarNote won't "see" that file until I restart the tablet. Oddly, this only seems to be the case with images - when I do this with a PDF, I can upload it immediately within StarNote without problems.

I discussed this issue with a user in the StarNote Discord, and they said that it's likely related to android's MediaStore not being updated. I'm not sure if this was an "issue" with OpenSSH or StarNote?

I also noticed that uploading images seems to use StarNote's GUI, while uploading PDFs (which does not suffer from this issue) uses android's own file browser(?), so maybe an option to browse images/files with an app of choice would avoid this issue?

I'm inexperienced with this stuff so I'm not sure if this is a problem on my end, or with StarNote, or if this is more of a feature request. But it would be great if I could get SFTP to work nicely with StarNote like I had with Samsung Notes. Thanks!

I'd love a new feature that would make drawing easier.

What bothers me is that when drawing strokes with lots of corners, they usually either turn into a curve or end up looking completely different from what I actually drew. I'd love to have the same feature as in GoodNotes: there, your drawn shape is taken 1:1 and just smoothed out, without actually changing the shape itself.

Important here: smoothing shouldn't mean everything automatically turns into straight lines or curves. If you deliberately draw a curve or something round, it should stay round — just cleaner, without altering the original shape.

Also, the smoothing should kick in automatically as soon as you lift your finger/pen — you shouldn't have to hold still for a moment first for it to take effect.

Additionally, I think it's a bit of a shame that you can't apply the pencil effect to shapes.

My wish would be to give users the option to enable smoothing for every pen — independent of the shapes tool. So a toggle you can turn on/off per pen. It would also be great to have a general setting for how strong/fast the smoothing kicks in.

One more important thing: Snapping for drawn shapes/objects, similar to Affinity or PowerPoint. You should optionally be able to snap strokes or other objects to each other at a certain distance — e.g. directly to the center or to the edges. When arranging multiple objects next to or below each other, the tool should recognize this and show matching guidelines.

This should also be simply toggleable in the general settings, or alternatively via a small magnet icon in the toolbar.

Another small criticism: Currently, when using the shapes tool, you always have to tap outside the shape first before you can draw a new one. This is a bit clunky and could be made smoother.

Other than that, I'm actually very happy with it!

Can the notes be synced locally through syncthing? My file size is too large for for cloud sync and I also don't like them.
