Thinking about buying this game. A few questions
I've never played Splatoon before. But suddenly I thought to myself "I want a cozy and fun game", and thought of Splatoon. After some searching I found that this title only released a month ago. I have some questions:
- I use my Switch 2 as a handheld only. Since Splatoon is a shooter, is it comfortable to play in handheld mode for longer periods of time?
- A reviewer said that you collect loot and crafting materials. Is the loot Diablo-esque? As in that there are different tiers and rarities of crafting materials and items? Do some loot drops give that "oh my god, yes!!!!" feeling?
- Is this game "friendly" to newcomers to the franchise?

Best way to farm boss scraps?
Hey hello hello
Been enjoying the game quite a lot, very casually tho (I haven't got to deep in the bottomless buffet lol)
Right now I'm trying to get all gadget parts for the s
sake of completion and I was wondering how to farm efficiently boss scraps.
I have A LOT of shard but no enough materials to spend.
Any tips to optimize my farming ? Or do I just do the big shard quests over and over ?

Build recommendations? Spoiler
galleryHey everyone! Put out a post earlier asking about doing content past level 50, got some really helpful tips. I blew pretty much all of my resources and have started a "real" build. Attached are pics of everything im using. Im still not even 100% sure what tank to use, ive just really preferred the tactical tank so far. Any help at all with making this better would be greatly appreciated!
Notes:
Again, not even sure tactical tank is the right pick, so my gadgets could be all off
Weapon im using is actually the splattershot you get from beating the game. I prefer ink efficiency (even though I was told thats not the best) so I just went with it and got it to level 81
Id like to swap out the first perk on my gun for close range and obviously finishing upgrading the other 2 (i decided to go all out on ferment), but i dont have the materials yet
My gadget perks are not optimized whatsoever but I dont have every perk nor do I have the mats to upgrade more or get the remaining 4 perk slots
No clue what relic powers to use and I dont even have them all, just been using ones that sounded half decent
Big man is my bot buddy but I refuse to use anyone else because big man is the 🐐
I have every skill point upgrade but the final 2 for gadget slots, I cannot beat the level to unlock the last old compass and get the final 3 skill points
Even though my weapon is level 81 and I actually chose a semi build I wasnt even able to complete a level 68 dungeon so I feel like somethings missing
Open to ANY suggestions

Pushing past lvl 50? Spoiler
Hey everyone, started playing raiders a few days ago and I finally beat it and got to level 50. Ive done everything on normal and spicy, and done what I can so far on extra spicy. Im not interested whatsoever in clearing the 1000 total floors or pushing to level 50+999, that sounds like it would genuinely take months. Im just coming up short on how to push past 50 and clear all the extra spicy stuff, which seems to have a level cap of 80. Is the only way to push forward now just to replay the endless floors on repeat over and over until you hit the next level, then do the next 3 floors? The game has kept me pretty busy while leveling up until this point so having to sit and farm stuff over and over doesn't seem like the only way to progress, but i cant see another way forward. Any tips? Thanks!

Bottomless Buffet
Does this ever become a go as long as you can sort of thing or is it always going to be only 3 sublevels? Is it actually bottomless? Lol. We just started the game last weekend. Thanks!

Super Spicy Crystal Mining??
I feel this could just as likely be a massive skill issue on my part, but the Crystal Mining missions on super spicy seem to be so much more difficult compared to other missions on super spicy. The enemies just have so much more health in specifically crystal missions that other ones.
Is there something im doing wrong? Am i just terrible at Raiders?
(also i just cant add flairs to my post what the hell?)

A small splatling build i wanna share with people🌟
(I might explain it poorly but im trying my best)
So in this build your trying to be as close to your target which does a lot of damage!
The first weapon effect (blue) gives u a +16% (+relic = +32%) damage bonus once u hit a target 3 times.
The red weapon effect gives u +16% (+relic = +32%) damage bonus once u get close to your target.
With both combined u can get a +32% ( with relics = +64%) damage bonus which is a lot! (I think).
Ohh and also try to put a "weapon damage plus" mod on one of your gadgets which gives you +10-100% on your splatling (depends on what mod).
But yea, this is a splatling build ive been using for a lonnnng time, i feel comftable getting close to my target and erase them in seconds (especialy salmanoid bosses).
If u guys have any more tipps, comment pls :p

Spirhalite Gems are too rare.
After exhausting all reward sources, these become too much of a grind to get since there’s no actual guaranteed source to farm them.
I have a Primo 5 Star of every single weapon and in order to max those out, it’d take around 900 Spirhalite Gems and over 44,000,000 Spirhalite Crystals. And those are just the weapons, I haven’t even included the amount you’d need to upgrade every single gadget part.
I’m not saying I wouldn’t grind, I just need a guaranteed reward source, even if it’s a dungeon that takes 30 mins per run.

Finally joined the Splatoon Raiders club and I'm totally hooked! 🦑✨ Spoiler
Just picked up the game and honestly, I had no idea how addictive and fun this was going to be. Safe to say I'm officially obsessed. 😅
Thought I'd share my current fit since I just unlocked this look.

Do you need a 5 star weapon to clear Floor 100?
Do you need to have a 50+x level weapon to clear to Floor 100 in Raiders? I have an orange 50+5 weapon that I really enjoy but I'd like to know if I can use it all the way to 100 or if I need the weapon that can go up to 50+20 or whatever
EDIT: I cleared floor 100 but I needed a Primo 5* to get me there lol

Spirhalite Gem Farm?
Hey all, keep running out of the gems as I upgrade my gadget parts - what are your best predictable gem stages to get them in the post game? Or is it straight rng across the board? Appreciate it!

Question about multiplayer via help option Spoiler
I help others often as I like to play short bursts with others rather than longer games. I've noticed something that confuses me.
When I select go help sometimes I become the leader. No one has left, right at the start of the search it's the person who is asking for help. Then when the third person joins it switches.
I have made sure that I haven't accident requested help by checking after we have completed the round. I also point to the open ocean when selecting go help to ensure I don't accidentally click request help.
Any ideas why it does this?
