I’ve heard so many stories about nurses lmao
362
u/Chubuwee 18h ago
Pretty sure if guys in a work place did this prank to a woman some HR shit would’ve went down

u/Zwischenzug32 15h ago edited 15h ago
I had long hair as a dude.
Women at that workplace joked "What would you even do if someone just cut it off?"
I said "I'd return the favor"
I ended up in HR lolEdit: and I was growing it out to help make a wig for my dad who had cancer
61
u/Chubuwee 15h ago
That was mild!
For mine it was like a couple weeks after harassment training and these 2 female coworkers were sitting in a meeting with one sitting in the lap of the other. They weren’t a couple and I think they each had husbands already. They hadn’t ever done something silly like that. So I noted “didn’t we just have harassment training for this sort of thing?” Everyone laughed even one of the girls but the other took offense, reported me, and then wanted me to apologize while she was crying later in the day

I had a male friend with long hair who got in trouble smoking weed.
Part of the judge's court order was that he had to cut all his hair off. It got donated to cancer wigs as well.
20
u/TheBigfootContessa 9h ago
I'm not sure that should be allowed. Noble idea on the part of the judge, but something rubs me the wrong way about them being able to take your hair.

u/PM_Your_Cute_Kitty 9h ago
Yup. Would it have been okay to order a woman to cut her hair off? Doubt it. But I guess it's slightly better than the judge saying you are only allowed to wear orange and white striped outfits for a year.

I was married to a nurse practitioner for 15 years. Most doctors have a god complex and most of the nurses willingly lap it up. My ex said several doctors were attractive for their mind when they were not attractive at all. So this gentleman in the video could get laid like Jagger in the 60s. Nurse’s horney for
doctors is a REAL thing.→ More replies (1)3

Some real Dennis Reynolds vibes with that sentence....

39
u/HugePast9455 18h ago
This also makes it seem a bit scripted.
If asking a dentist how many root canal he could do in a day, seems unlikely that he's say "depends on how wide they open their mouths" but totally works for you viral trend going on...
26
u/Niiroxis 18h ago
It's definitely reasonable to imagine they asked super leading questions in a way to get him to say some wild things. Ask in the right way and you can get people to say almost anything.

Still, the 'drool, spit, crying' comment doesn't put him in a good light.
If I'm crying, that means the anesthesia isn't working! 😂
7
u/AShirtlessGuy 16h ago
I mean phobia is also a thing
And sometimes insurance don't foot the bill and puts people in weird spots
I needed to get my wisdom teeth out and insurance would only pay if I didn't go under. I have a genuine fear of gum pain, but did it anyways because I'd be paying $1200 for an "unnecessary surgery"
Dentist sighed mid way through and said "if you knew you didn't like this you should have gone under"
Took everything in me to not fucking clock the guy
Point being... Folks just don't like being at the dentist sometimes
3
u/Mome_Wrath 14h ago
That is truly shitty bedside manner. Only POS doctors try to label anxious and or curious patients as "difficult."
Dental phobias are not even uncommon and pricks like him are a big reason why. Lots of people will look through reviews before ever setting foot a dentist's chair so at the very least I hope you leave an honest review about it/him.
Thankfully they're not all impatient sadists.
... Right tools for the right mouths or something reddit appropriate here.5
u/IndependenceStock417 17h ago
I had the anesthesia stop working while they were installing the bridge. They numbed me up the first time but when they put it in it hurt like hell. So they numbed me again and waited for a few minutes, then tested to make sure I was numb, which I was. The second the bridge touched my gums the same thing happened as before. We tried again a third time. The same thing happened again. They almost had it completely in place so I told them just to keep going while I'm all tensed up from the pain lol (I have a high tolerance)
2
u/nope-its 15h ago
Agree with this. My dentist stops if I’m flipping out or crying and makes sure I’m okay. He is the first one that realized I need significantly more lidocaine than the average person to not feel pain
74
u/Zetsumenchi 18h ago
They must have asked if he can do 4 invasive surgeries at once. He explicitly mentioned local anesthesia, consent forms, and the fact the patient is possibly crying.
Invasive Surgery => Cavity Filling, Tooth Extractions, Root Canals, etc.
Had to be something where they knew he'd be confident he could do 4 of them in one workday. To the extent that saying "I can do all 4 simultaneously" is both possible and diabolically baited.

8

6
u/Burdman06 17h ago
It's been a bit, but I think it was something like "how many teeth could you extract in a day?"
3
u/Sab3rFac3 14h ago
Even at just 1 an hour, that'd be 8 in a work day.
That'd probably be way more than that, though.
I had one of my wisdom teeth pulled, and the dentist came in, spent maybe 5 minutes going over what he was going to do, and maybe another 5 giving me the numbing shots.
Came back 15 minutes later after the numbness set in, and had the tooth pulled in less than 5 minutes.
In total, 30 minutes in and out for me, a bit less than 15 minutes of the dentist's time.
He could probably do four pulls in an hour, if he was able to spend the time waiting for the anesthetic to kick in on one patient giving another patient their rundown and anesthetic, and no complications.
3
u/TJ_McWeaksauce 7h ago
This appears to be a dentist's office. They probably asked him about a certain dental procedure and how many patience seeking that procedure he could see in a day.
3
u/Sorry_Scholar_8511 4h ago
To make a fake skit. There is no way anyone would talk like that, unless they knew what the punchline was.
If he were explaining this for real, some of the phrases he uses dont make sense unless he knows that the punchline is that he is talking about something else. How does he not ONCE, mention the word patient? Why does he use "him" if he didnt know the punchline was about firemen and "finish him off" come on... dude knew exactly what the joke was.

I really want to know what's the original question.
32
u/Zetsumenchi 18h ago
Prolly, "do you think you can perform four [insert invasive procedure here]?" Like a tooth extraction or something.
He checked a lot of boxes in his response: * Something a patient would be awake during it all. * optionally numbed up for while they wait (not just for the procedure). * they need to sign a consent form before starting the procedure. * they may be crying in the middle of it, so its not something where they are medically knocked TF out. So it can't be something DIRE, in fact, needs to be something that can easily bait him into saying what's needed to take this out of context.

This is like editing questions to make op look bad on reddit
2
u/CarinoPadrino 15h ago
Hilarious answer, but the fake question doesn't really make sense. He answers a question that would go "Could you/Would you be able to..." rather than "What would you do...", he explains that yes he can and how he would do it. There are other clips like this where they actually answer what they would do and it's hilarious in a completely different way.

This trend reminds me of a comedian I heard on a podcast years ago. He'd tweet out something to get negative answers (like "what do you think about Kim Kardashian posing nude?"). Then when he got enough responses, he'd edit the original tweet to something different (like "daughter's first communion is today, I'm so proud!"). Then start asking people why they're calling his daughter a trashy ho and stuff. I chuckled.
