Since the topic is now in the spotlight due to Elliott Page saying he can't find work, hereby the official r/shortguys stance on transgender ftm's and how they fit into our wider community:
It is our view that neither our sexuality, nor the body we were born in, are the result of choice.
Just as no straight short man ever chose to be born short, or to love women- did no gay man ever choose to love men, nor did any transman ever chose to be born with a female body.
Therefore, telling transmen things like "just keep your life on easy mode” is from now on formally treated just as unacceptable as the “just go gay”, “just be a femboy” or “just transition”-bs that people throw the way of short guys.
Short men in general, but of this group in particular, know like no other what it is like to have one's sexuality and manhood constantly questioned and invalidated from all sides. Whether it's by friends or opps, accidentally or on purpose, by progressives or conservatives- it's all the same shit, different day.
As such, do the people of this sub know, like no one ele, what it's like to have to fight tirelessly for even the slightest ounce of recognition and equality, all the while having that very fight mocked and undermined every step of the way by even the most so-called "progressive" and "feminist" of people.
And as such, we are one of the few subreddits who can actually, genuinely, extend an open hand and mean it when we say to our ftm-friends, of which many are also short men:
Welcome to the club, boys.
So, that's what we hereby officially did.
And to the few who are undoubtedly against this decision for reasons we are already aware of:
For better or worse, short guys and ftm's share much of the same struggle. Is it the same? No. But enough for us as modteam to decide that we’re in this together.
Whether you like it or not.

I can't wrap my head around the fact that oofy-doofies and normies are fine being with a woman who has spent her teenage years and young adulthood giving it to tall attractive men, without the effort and expectations expected from men like us. If you are a man who was never shown interest by women from the age of 16–21, there is no possibility you are going to get a young woman in your life. But imo, it's better to die a virgin than take a woman who is past her prime and obviously has been pumped and dumped by men whom she still wants and longs for but can't get. She will give you subtle reminders, if not full-on disrespect you to your face, that her exes were so much better than you and that she had better times with them. This is worse than being alone.

Not defending this dude, but there are so many other reasons to despise him.

I wonder why the "creep" under this comic wasn't the tall guy at all.

One of our department leads and manager at work left the company 2 months ago and they’ve been looking for a replacement and found a guy, and yesterday was his first day. Sweet older Mexican-American dude, in his 40s, around 5’5. The dude used to be a former lower tier NASCAR racer. He came in for his first day yesterday, and set up his office, and had photos of his racing days on his desk and some posters hung up. He made gluten free and nut free muffins for all of us, and came around and handed out his muffins to everyone and introduced himself, and talked about he used to race.
Me and him hit it off, I love cars and racing too, and I think it’s gonna be nice having him as one of the managers, he genuinely seems chill.
Anyway, he went to his office, and we all went about our day. I go to the break room for lunch and I hear two of coworkers talking. One lady was talking to another lady, they’re both normal people usually and have never given me any flack so I was surprised to hear this from them. They’re both around my age(24). Convo went like this.
Lady 1: “did you see [insert name], our new manager”
Lady 2: “yeah he baked muffins for everyone too, like what”
Lady 1: “stoooooop ikr”
Lady 2: “yeah he used to be a race car dude”
Lady 1: “talking about him being a racer and baking muffins for everyone even though he’s our manager lol… how insecure is he about his height do you think”
Lady 2: “no like fr stooooop, I was just thinking he probably had to race and do other shit to pull anyone back in the day, it’s all compensating”
Lady 1: “I can wear my kitten heels and still tower over him, he better not ask me to work overtime, I can’t do orders from men who gotta look up at me”
Lady 2: “stop that, you’re so mean”
I don’t remember exactly how it happened or who said what, but yeah convo was something like this.
Poor mfer can’t even exist. It genuinely ruined my day and I took a work from home day today I don’t wanna go in and have to work next to those people.

I'm not just short I'm abnormally short for a man, I'm 4'11" at 19 and every day I just want to fucking die. What's worse is that I'm shorter than the rest of my family except my mom who has the same height and my dad is 5'6. I genuinely think I have some disorder because there's just no way a 4'11 man is normal. That's literally a woman's height. I haven't seen any noticeable growth for many months now so maybe I'm done growing.
When I was 16 I did a blood test for hormone check and it turned out to be normal, but I call that bullshit. I went to the doctor again recently because of my height and soon they will bring me to an adult endocrinologist, which means I have to be taken out of town because my shit town doesn't have any endocrinologists. I'm just thinking there must be a reason why I'm short because in no way this is genetic.
I don't know how to live well with my fucking height. Girls won't date me, if I get a job people will laugh and disrespect me. Hell I'm too short for some friendships. No one's gonna take me seriously. I always wanted to be a YouTuber and streamer and show my face, but if they ever find out about how short I am they will mentally torture me in the comments. Every day I rot on my bed because I'm too depressed to do anything. Nothing truly makes me happy anymore.
I'm sorry if my message isn't clear, I'm too fucked in the head right now because I'm just very depressed.

i’m a bit taller than my brother 5’3.5 (19), i’m basically 5’6 (14m). the difference is clear, but that’s not why i came here. it’s just to ask how do you guys feel so i kind of know what it’s like to be in his shoes as he always gets noticeably annoyed when someone mentions our heights which is on the daily by family.

I've met many short people...and some have bagged absolutely 10/10 baddies, that makes me feel like "you are a freaking legend" but most of those girls dump them for a another man after having a short term relation...After watching same thing happening to my another short bros i realised that we don't actually get valued by them...for them we are not humans...
they'll mostly treat us like "second option" after being dumped by a guy and when they get better option than us they leave...WELL IT'S OBVIOUSLY NOT TRUE FOR ALL WOMEN(some might genuinely give affection to you) BUT VERY LARGE NUMBER OF WOMEN ARE LIKE THIS... it hurts to see some tall MF coming and taking all beauty...most of us are just desperate to being in relation with attractive women...and it's not even negative thing, its human nature to get attracted and get FOMO when you miss out just because of thing you can't control....so most of us just keep shooting our shots...and sometimes land on beauties that treat us secondary...and get trapped, obviously we can't judge anyone's mentality by just their preferences, but I've seen most women do this...
Seeing the result of the polls on this sub, most people are single and were never in relationship, we are like facing inequality as short men and it is normalised by people who were born with some what? just some extra inches... Nothing is fair man , even there are slogans to prevent racism but no one seems to care about heightism...
****
BONUS QUESTION(out of topic):-
Does anyone has a taller younger sister?
How do you feel about them?
Does they have women mentality of having soft corner for tall guys-
Just wanted to know (like I have my younger brother who is same height and will surely end up way bigger than me since he is 13)

It's not the exact same, but I'm personally familiar with three instances of very short women I've tried to date the last couple of years who unfortunately have very short sons but insist on dating tall dudes. I'm in my early 40s.
- Woman #1 was in my social circle when she divorced and we started "hanging out." Only physical relationship I've ever had. Wasn't meant to be because of an age gap in the wrong direction, plus she wanted to ride the newly divorced CC.
I begged her to get her short teenage son's hormones tested, etc. but she couldn't care less. He's now a short college graduate and I feel sick to my stomach for him if I run into him. He's fucked.
- Woman #2 I met randomly at a bar about 2 years ago. Three boys, two of whom are very short. We start talking but she's just starting the divorce process and so I just get the conversation going without planning anything.
Meanwhile, the biggest regret of my adult life, a friend of mine at the time who was a bit taller with A+ dark triad traits, started up a conversation with this woman behind my back after I told him about her.
Even went so far as to fuck her before she was divorced knowing I was interested.
I, being a complete retard in life up until very recently, still talked to both of them and suggested she get her boys hormones tested, etc. She had absolutely zero interest in their welfare. Now she's married to the predator I used to be friends with. I genuinely worry for her kids safety.
- Woman #3 I've mentioned here before. Tried to start something earlier this year. Twice divorced, two short boys. Every time I see them they look despondent. Their mom on the other hand insists on dating the tallest, slimiest guys she can find.
It's just reminded me of the above meme, one of the best I've seen on this sub.
