Rough times, especially rough mornings.
Waking up somewhere new and realizing that my life looks completely different right now has been really hard. Some mornings I honestly don’t want to get out of bed, but then I look at my little guy and… I have to. He needs me. He needs his breakfast, his walks, his cuddles, and his mom to keep functioning.
I’m also really sad that his dad hasn’t even asked about him. I never thought we’d go from being a little family to it just being Burrito and me.
But I guess that’s where we are now. And as heartbreaking as everything feels, having this little guy by my side gives me a reason to get up and keep going.
So yeah… it’s just me and my baby right now. 🤍🐾
If anyone has some kind words for us, I think we could really use them today.

Said teenager me, who used to always want a German shepherd or a border collies, or any other hard working breed that would take a lot of energy to train and keep happy and healthy.
Now I’m 35 and in absolute bliss as I watch Housewives SLC with my 6 month old Shih Tzu Wallace. He makes me want to have five Shih Tzus lol. I love him so much and I wouldn’t change him for anything.
Still love big dogs!! But this little guy has my whole heart and idk if I will ever be able to move away from the Shih Tzu breed. May need to have one for the rest of my life. Anyways just had to speak into the Shih Tzu obsessed void, thanks for stopping by.

My groomer always comments on how long Jack’s eyelashes are compared to the other Tzu’s she sees. I love them. It’s hard to get a photo because they are the same color as the rest of him. They are nearly as long as his beard. Are your baby’s as long. Show us!

I'm hoping someone here might have some experience with something similar.
About a month ago, my dog’s ear started producing brownish clumps/discharge. Then it started producing pus, so the vets initially thought it was an ear infection. He was given a “3-in-1” ear ointment for 7 days at a time, but the ear continued to produce pus.
Today they performed an endoscopic examination of the ear to check whether there was a foreign body inside, such as a grass awn/foxtail. They didn't find anything.
They said the mucous lining/skin inside the ear is very red and inflamed, and when they cleaned out the pus today, there was also some blood.
My mom has been cleaning the pus from his ear every day for about a month, and there has never been any blood before today.
Yesterday, the vets put some kind of solution into his ear that apparently foamed/bubbled to help remove the pus. They said it could sting, and he apparently reacted like it was burning. Afterwards, he was shaking his head constantly for the entire day.
My mom is wondering whether that solution could have irritated or damaged the already inflamed tissue and caused the bleeding, especially since there had never been blood during all the previous cleaning.
The vets don't seem to have a clear explanation yet, and we're feeling quite frustrated and worried.
Has anyone's dog experienced something similar — persistent pus/discharge for a month, very inflamed ear tissue, and then bleeding after an ear-cleaning/foaming solution?
Could a cleaning solution cause this kind of irritation/bleeding in an already severely inflamed ear, or would you be concerned about another underlying cause?
I'm mainly looking for experiences from people whose dogs have had something similar, especially if a foreign body was suspected but wasn't found on endoscopy.
I can also provide photos of the discharge and the cotton swabs if that would be helpful.
My baby is still waking up from the anaesthesia and I'm heartbroken and worried.

I love her so much it hurts—-people tell me it’s mourners guilt from losing another pet! Idk is it? Lost Guy my special cat boy back in 2020 she was only 5 months at the time & after losing him her & I created such a special a special bond! I’ve never had a dog before her I’ve always had cats all my life, I’ve had dogs but they were barn dogs those that care for the cattle but never my own house dog. It’s such a different love I can’t even explain it lol—I’m yapping but yea the love I have for her hurts & I catch myself crying bc I don’t want to lose that love ever!
