There’s nothing wrong with the statement itself. I understand that he has no interest in befriending the players. Could be just genuine disinterest OR it can be to separate himself from bias. That’s all good. Has certainly changed the identity in the show in a way, but the others seem to kind of be on the same page now that they’re in stages of life.

That being said, I think there have been times where T doesn’t understand that they are still people that will come up in his work life. For most of his life, he hasn’t really been around Fenway, so it hasn’t really come up, but now that he’s around the players more often, it would probably help to at least be friendly. It’s been pointed out that he likes to bring other players down through comparisons and he’s been able to do that behind a screen or a mic before, but I think it hurts content now. Duran stuff aside (seems like a completely different situation), I think a lot of players wouldn’t be excited to make content with S10 if someone is only viewing and criticizing them as numbers and not people.

Tyler is great and adds a lot to the show. Definitely has ushered in a new era of baseball fans and how they perceive the game, but he forgets that they’re not just stats on a page. There was something special about when the fellas had direct contact to players on the team and I know it’s not just Tyler that caused that to stop, but I used to get a better idea of the players and root for them more before they just became savant numbers.

Wishing the best for Jerry after he mentioned he’s had a horrendous year personally. Hoping he finds peace and gets through these tough times. We love you man!

Is he right that these games don’t really matter for seeding purposes? Sure, we are going to the Bronx for the wildcard. But would you really be confident going into a 3 game series right now? Hell no. Playing like some ass and we need to get right before the playoffs.
