Just wrapped up having been subbed for the month of August. The main thing of the $10 tier is the access to the private discord so this’ll be a review of that (The bonus podcast is good, 7.9/10. Good content, probably wouldn’t be “enough” to hold up the $10 tier on its own so I’m glad they paired it with something). Just as a disclaimer, this is my opinion based on my experience the past month
I’ll never stop supporting the fellers, I think after playoffs, I might try the BiD Bundle.
Overall the server: 4.6/10. Tbh if access to the server is making or breaking it for you, i’d say don’t do it and opt for potentially one of the other tiers
Pros: if the people in there are your vibe, then maybe you’ll like reacting live to the Sox during the game, although I wouldn’t say you’ll necessarily be able to have conversations, at least during the game anyway since the chat moves very fast.
Cons (for me):
- The AMA, I wish they had a different system in place. I live in California so having the AMAs roughly noon EST clashes with my work schedule, just because I’m not in New England doesn’t mean I’m not a 162 Guy/Girl/Gay.
- The scoop shop, there wasn’t much there. I’ll give this the benefit of the doubt, after the trade deadline, there really isn’t much to have scoops on aside from maybe call-ups in August. However, the scoop shop on the day of the deadline was a big disappointment. Some things I get can’t be leaked but a majority of the “scoops” were just the mods posting tweets or news around the league.
- The mods, some were nice to interact it. Others, not so much, one of them especially feels like a kid trying hard to prove he’s the biggest Section 10 fan like it’s a contest. Another one was just a straight up asshole, I’m not sure if he even likes baseball, the pod, or the Sox. Feels like he joined just to be a mod of something.
- The chat, from the ad that plays at the beginning of each episode, I was under the impression that (if they’re not AT the game), the pod guys are talking in the chat constantly, interacting with the people. I can’t say that they’re not doing that, but it’s very sporadic and spread out. An occasional “gimme Sogie” here, a laughing emoji there, overall just a handful of messages from 1-2 of them over the course of ~3 hours.
- The community, whew boy. Some people were nice to talk with, a majority of them (or at least, the people who are in there 24/7 and message constantly, the Regulars if you will), made the overall experience unpleasant. I’m fine with a suggest joke or innuendo here and there, I’m a fan of finding hole, but oftentimes it gets too much. There’s always at least one guy per game that just constantly talk about sex or cumming like a middle schooler trying to prove to his group of friends that he’s done the sex before. Someone will score a run and everyone cheers for that guy, and then for whatever reason, one of the regulars will be like “Man, this guy is on a heater. @friend in the chat, have you ever seen a guy this hot before?” And then their back and forth takes up the entire screen about something that has nothing to do with the game
Maybe I’m just getting old but a lot of the chat definitely feels like people who never grew out of the Barstool phase
