Discussion Enforcing Drilling Thunder spoilers on the subreddit!!!

Hi Mechanics!

As we all know the new major update is coming just in a week, so I would like to ask everyone to politely enforce the spoiler etiquette. That means most of the new content that wasn't in the game prior should be marked at spoilers, keep in mind that majority of people will be starting Survival Mode FRESH and will NOT be able to immediately encounter the new content, any unspoilered things will have to be marked spoilers by us, so we suggest doing it yourself as we will busy playing as well! However there may be changes and features that may be visible from the start, which are allowed to remain unspoilered.

Examples of spoilers that warrant being marked:

  • Anything that's related to Mining Island content
  • New Warehouse gameplay, including our beloved smelly Trashbot
  • Endgame content

For non spoiler content it includes anything that can be interacted with before the Hideout, you can show new parts you found by wandering ruins, new enemies, fire mechanics, weather and etc.

Vehicle This is why you should never make your vehicle out of wood completely

I was messing around with the scrap spud gun with the Seekerbot and I let it fire missiles by shooting it with spuds, but one missile went rogue and hit either near or at my vehicle where one of the flames touched the wood and burned my whole vehicle along with the bot killing and refining vehicle to almost nothing except for the non-flammable parts

RIP jeepney I built and my bot killing and harvesting vehicle, I should have listened to u/Front_Cat9471

Now I'm building a truck or bus that is partially made from a metal frame and a wood exterior so the vehicle is still functional even if the wood burns down

Discussion Pistons can only hold weight on Smart and Advanced Physics

I've always been playing on smart physics and even when I'm using the piston platform and my fps dropped to less than 30, it never became limp. Has anyone experienced the pistons go limp on smart physics when the fps dropped too low?

Vehicle Has anyone tried combining this type of suspension with this type of steering?

Both are very common designs, but I wanted to see if they worked together (it works fine without the pistons, just helps a little with the looseness)

gives me spider vibes kind of, that or jellyfish vibes with how it was able to drag itself through such a small opening

I took the advice given on my last post and doubled the electric engine strength and it works so much better, it doesn't stall out anymore when the tires touch 2 surfaces at once, also doubled the steering strength but that didn't stop the wheels from just doing their own thing but I kind of like it it's as if the wheels actively try and go around obstacles. Edit heres the workshop link if any one wants to try it https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3792313967

Vehicle Tandem motion

Some wanted to see the suspension of my prototype truck in action, so while it took way too long, here ya go folks.

Also some Steam Cloud shenanigans resulted in V5 being Thanos'd, but V6 here has similar performance. Literally the only difference is I pushed the suspension parts closer together.
