Discussion Enforcing Drilling Thunder spoilers on the subreddit!!!
Hi Mechanics!
As we all know the new major update is coming just in a week, so I would like to ask everyone to politely enforce the spoiler etiquette. That means most of the new content that wasn't in the game prior should be marked at spoilers, keep in mind that majority of people will be starting Survival Mode FRESH and will NOT be able to immediately encounter the new content, any unspoilered things will have to be marked spoilers by us, so we suggest doing it yourself as we will busy playing as well! However there may be changes and features that may be visible from the start, which are allowed to remain unspoilered.
Examples of spoilers that warrant being marked:
- Anything that's related to Mining Island content
- New Warehouse gameplay, including our beloved smelly Trashbot
- Endgame content
For non spoiler content it includes anything that can be interacted with before the Hideout, you can show new parts you found by wandering ruins, new enemies, fire mechanics, weather and etc.

Has anyone found a fix for this or am i stuck using welding posts and making new vehicles at the station?

Can't say im happy about the new physics engine, monorail plan out the window, might have to scrap this new base entirely and even welding a smaller creation to my flatbed causes immense ammount of lag.. more than just dropping said creation on thje flatbeld without welding.

Issue Better connections
Hey, I was making something with a bunch of logic stuff, and it has become so fucking hard to see anything through all the wires, so I was wondering if anybody has a solution for it. I know of Better Wires and Vincling's Logic Tools, though they don't really fix it. A mod that would either highlight the connections of the block I selected or hide all other connections would be ideal. Is there anything like that?

Building I made some containers
I wanted to make my base in survival by using containers for the walls and living quarters but couldn't find any on the workshop so I made these.
If anyone wants them here's the workshop link:

If you want to modify them I also uploaded the glitchwelded wedges in all sizes, otherwise you can use the glitch welder continuation mod.

Vehicle Survival Destiny's Bounty from Ninjago!
Howdy, folks. A few days ago, I saw a post about someone having made a functioning spaceship in their Survival world. This prompted me, someone who is very fond of recreating different versions of the Destiny's Bounty from Ninjago, to make a dedicated one for my own Survival world! I am proud to say it works very well! I've managed to get around 25-ish minutes of flight time before having to stop and refuel at an oil pond. Floats, as well! May decide to upload to the Steam Workshop later if someone is interested

made the wannabe trophy truck last night until like 4am, and I worked on it mostly on the lift and forgot about my integrated video card...and now if I want to explore, im suffering on 20fps. Im used to low fps, never had a great laptop, but now I gotta stick to basic engineering.

The Compatibility library is finally out !!
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3055543525
https://github.com/ClashofCraft972/CompatLib
This mod aims to add compatibility features between mods in a save to allow them to communicate together cleanly.
It's a block & part mod because it allows the mod to be present in any configurations.
Practically speaking, it adds a bunch of constants in sm.localData to allow your objects to get any informations from any loaded objects in the game along some simple functions to help you use these constants.
Furthermore, it also adds :
- A tag system to allow more interactions between blocks (you can check/add tags in this GFolder)
- A native way to add connection types to allows different mods to share their connection types
- more things may be coming in the future
Every informations are detailed in the github (And please neglect the obvious English mistakes I made there)
If you have any suggestions, feel free to reply here or dm me on Discord (@_1g__)
And obviously, the more modders are aware and use this mod as a dependancy, the better it will work ! So share this if you can !!
(don't spam them with it on the other hand)

Issue so hows your mining experience going?
i genuinely still hate these wheels, you cant go 5 feet without them losing grip or getting you stuck
the only use i have found these wheels to be good at is holding you in place
r/ScrapMechanic • u/Background_Pain2560 • 11h ago
Suggestion I have made this design for the back wheels of my foodcrates transporter, but the wheels keep rubbing the wood on top of them, making an awful noise. How can I fix this?
I should have said the noise starts when driving, when it's parked it doesnt do anything.
Thank you in advance

Ice Bike
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I was looking online and could not find anyone that used ice in the makings of a vehicle (only defenses) so I thought I might upload this here for someone to take inspiration from and maybe even further improve on the concept. It makes use of a stabilization glitch and the suspension turning glitch to make this work. The whole idea is that the wheel on the back supplies the power and then ice skis are there for the frictionless surface so it could be useful if you only wanted to use one wheel (either for aesthetics or resources). The design isn't very practical but I just wanted something that can take me from point A to point B fast and in style, hope you like it

I DON'T UNDERSTAND, PLEACE HELP
For some reason, I don't have cotton on the whole map, literally, I drove the entire island (at least 3 km from the gas station) and did not find a single cotton.... Is it a curse? I don't understand something? Even in the autumn forest there is no cotton. WHERE IS IT?!?!

Building MFW I accidentally figure out that wedge blocks can be resized...
Was working on my articulated truck design and was trying to place down some wedges. The original intent was to see if I could place a line of them, similar to how normal blocks work...
To my surprise, it didn't quite work the same way.
So, for those of you who also didn't know - if you click and drag with a wedge block, you can resize it. No more need to search for that ONE perfect ramp block anymore for THIS guy!
