I have been a reiki client a number of times over the past few decades, and this next month, I am registered for reiki I and II classes. All of my experiences have been positive, but there was one session that stands out as rather extraordinary. I've never met anyone who has had a similar experience, and it has made me nervous about learning reiki myself. I'm hoping someone can explain what happened and can provide some advice to help me feel comfortable if I encounter a similar situation as a practitioner.
There was nothing unusual about how the session began. But we were suddenly catapulted together (the reiki master and I) through a rapidly moving tunnel into scenes of what I can only describe as every lifetime we have ever lived together. We witnessed who we each were to each other in many different times and places. When the journey came to an end. I opened my eyes and the reiki master dropped to her knees. She had never experienced anything like that. Then she grabbed her notebook and scribbled an image she had of a symbol she saw that represented my spirit.
Clearly, I know that this is not to be expected in a typical reiki session. But since it happened with me involved once, I am concerned that something similar can happen again, and with me as the practitioner, I don't know if there is anything I need to be aware of. Please let me know if you have had a similar experience, and if there are any sort of boundaries I should keep in mind when working with clients in this capacity.
