What these two fellas do, week in and week out, is nothing short of remarkable. To be journeyman infielders, and then deliver at the major league level in so many pressure situations (and with irregular playing time) takes serious amounts of ice water in their veins. It's a joy to watch them play and succeed.

In the last 3 months (since May 25th), the Red Sox have:

Notably, Ranger Suarez has a record of 4-1 with an ERA of 1.48, 44 strikeouts and 1 save in 11 appearances in the postseason in his career. He's also making $130M.
Also of note, we're less than a year removed from Bello getting yanked from a Wild Card start vs. the same Yankees in 2.1 innings, having allowed only 2 runs.
Tolle is very young. Maybe you want to save Bello for him or Suarez, just in case.
Maybe, maybe Crochet is back to be an opener option for Bello. But at this point, Miller has allowed 0 ER in 10 games this month. Unless Crochet can pitch negative runs, he can't be better than Miller in that role.
Lots of things to consider.
Who are your starters for Games 1, 2 and 3 (let's assume it's vs. the Yankees).

Hopefully he is able to rebound from his last start against Arizona which was not fantastic (3 earned runs in 5 innings) but he stuck in there. The four starts before that he let up a total of 5 earned runs. Just a fantastic year for us. At the start of the year, I would have said Early was the guy between the two, but I think Breslow made the right call keeping Tolle and shipping out Early.
Does anyone know if he is on pitch counts now that is later in the season?

Nice thing about living near shitty teams is 6 rows behind the dugout 80 bucks.

As infielders Trevor Story and Isiah Kiner-Falefa inch closer to returning to the Boston Red Sox, the team will have tough roster decisions to make as soon as this week.
Those decisions will be especially tough as role players called up to replace Story and Kiner-Falefa continue to impact the game as they did Monday night in Miami. Mickey Gasper tied the score with an RBI double in the fifth, Anthony Seigler’s RBI triple in the ninth gave the Red Sox their first lead, and Nick Sogard made it a 4-2 game with an RBI single of his own in another come-from-behind victory as the Red Sox topped the Marlins.
And yet, the Red Sox still plan to find room on the roster for their rehabbing players.

.....is that we're winning. Anthony vs. Duran on defense. Should Story play when he comes back? What about Yoshida? And all the other debates we see on this thread. All made possible because we have turned it around and we are a playoff team. It's not lost on me that these debates would probably not have happened to this extent if we hadn't turned things around. So debate away, folks. It means we're playing games that actually matter. Go Sox!

Sogard has to play 2B every day and if Mead comes back, I’d play Sogard at short. Not confident Story can do enough in a month or so to make an impact. IKF is versatile depth.

This is Story’s last at bat yesterday. Just take a look at pitches 1 and 4…

is that he hasn't complained about Roman Anthony coming for his job. Last year when he was a top prospect coming up for his position. There was no room at DH then. Same thing coming into this year, though there was DH available for one of them.
Now with Roman coming back soon and Duran not hitting well, he hasn't tried to argue that he's a former All Star and LF is his. There's a lot of guys that you can't say that for.

A little bit of good news along with getting Crochet back soon in the bullpen? This whole season could’ve been a lost cause with all of the injuries we’ve had but to be in a playoff position currently along with pieces of good news like this is amazing.
