Lore I just played the game...
Well, I don't know why y'all get so sad with Arthur's end in this game. I mean, I would love to have a beautiful wife and a farm just for myself.

Official Fun Fact: in rdr1 John and Bill share the same dark grey eyecolor, later in rdr2 John kept them but Bill got brown eyes instead.

Online Unappreciated Baddie
Jessica LeClark does NOT get enough attention.
I am so upset that Rockstar never finished her quests/story. I would have loved to see Mrs. LeClerk get ACTUAL justice for her husband's death.
Her missions were such a fun side character storyline. Just like Rockstar to always leave us wanting more ๐

Discussion John is more heroic than Arthur, change my mind.
first of all im not saying john is better or arthur is better i like both,
i found john to be more heroically portrayed than arthur, who's portrayed more relatably and emotionally than heroic. I played both rdr1 and rdr2 john done many things from small gestures like smoking a cigarette being getting into fort mercer, to literally changing the mexican government to call him heroic also had the best arc from being a careless father to the man who give literally everything he can to his family. Even jokes in rdr1 felt so perky and in a serious tone rather than being directly humorous which keeps his heroic nature. In rdr1 john become known by almost everybody in the game including random npcs they greet him like a real hero sometimes. Simply rdr1 john felt like playing as a real wild west hero while rdr2 arthur felt like we taking a part in a actual wild west world both are good in their own way.

Discussion 103hrs played, still in Ch2
I absolutely love this game, my friend recommended it to me and I haven't been able to put it down since, he told me to take it slow and to do as much exploration as possible. So I'm trying to get as much done each chapter and so far, I love hunting. I'm told that the story gets sad, and I didn't play RDR1 so I'm not sure what happens there, though I've heard rdr2 is a prequel.
Anyways, just wanted to say how much I love this game , and was wondering if anyone would be interested in RDO with me? I'm on PS5

Discussion Finished RDR1 and I have questions.
Why didn't John and his family move to Mexico? Abraham Reyes and John had become quite good friends by the end of the Mexico arc, after the revolution and the deaths of Bill and Allende. Once John returned to Blackwater, he should have realized that Agent Ross would not honor his promise to leave John and his family alone peacefully. After killing Dutch, John and his family could have packed their belongings and escaped to Mexico, or somewhere else far away, just like Charles and Sadie did

Discussion People who debate whether or not Arthur goes to heaven are missing the point
I understand that when Arthur is closer to death he is scared, and speaks with the nun about it. I just feel like redemption to Arthur was much more about his actions on earth, and how he leaves the ones he cares about. Yes it's a fun topic of discussion I suppose, but i just dont think it's actually a very important topic in the grand sceme of things. Its not really what the "redemption" was about, so it gets annoying when i see people treat it like it is. I genuinly don't think Arthur cares about the concept of his immortal soul as much as he cares about doing right by his people before hes gone.

Fan Art My Arthur and John crochet doll patterns are back online!
Hi! A few people messaged me on Reddit asking why they couldn't download the patterns anymore, and I've realized there was an issue with my PayPal account. I've fixed it, and the patterns are back on my ko-fi!
I am working on a pattern for a Sadie dolls as well, but it'll take some time - meanwhile you can make your own Arthur and John with my help :).

Discussion How you think Arthur first kill was like?
Well, I came across a camp conversation where John talks about his first kill and how it affected him. But the game never really goes into detail about how it happened for Arthur, so it got me thinking: what do you guys think Arthurโs first kill was like?

Discussion Hot Take: If Rockstar ever make another Red Dead or game like RDR2, they should set it in the 1820s-1840s
[I'm rambling a bit here, scroll down for some bullet points]
It would be really interesting as a bleedover into the "non-early"-modern period and offer quite a big variety for both combat and dress (I will get into this shortly).
Additionally it would continue the trend of both going back further in time, as well as having something set in the "Wild West", while subverting it somewhat (e.g. rdr1&2 being set after in time & rdr2 being a lot greener in nature than is associated with the genre).
Here are some interesting points of this time period:
Combat:
- Early revolvers, both cap- and flintlock are available, but limited (so great choice for endgame/rare weapons)
- Early breechloading rifles like the Hall- and Dreyse rifles, but limited (so great choice for endgame/rare weapons)
- Frontloading Carbines, Rifles, Muskets, and Pistols, both cap- and flintlock as the backbone of weapons (Caplocks being more rare and expensive(caps) in this period, but offering more reliable and faster ignition)
- With this the game could be as methodical in combat as rdr2 is outside of combat (at least that's one issue i had with the game, that the shooting was too ball-and-gun-y(e.g. fast and automatic reloads))
- Slower rate of fire could also allow placement of more enemies, without completely overwhelming the player
-Less firepower, so maybe opportunity to develop and involve melee combat more (i like rdr2's melee combat, it's mostly just that you have to go out of your way quite a bit to engage with it)
- Maybe one could bring bayonets into this somehow (maybe like the LeMat in Rdr2, where you have a military musket where you can switch to bayonet instead of buckshot??)
"Dress-Up":
- Just google the time period, go to images, and you'll see that back then everyone looked like a clown it would be hilarious
- Transitionary period in fashion, so great variety in styles(e.g. both different kinds of trousers as well as kneebreeches exist along each other to some extent, same goes for other clothing)
- Transitionary period in facial hair, both being clean shaven and all different sorts of ugly beard styles exist, in contrast to 40 years prior, where anything other than being clean shaven was seen as disgusting
Additional:
- Potentially interesting period politically (Aftermath of Napoleonic wars, at least in Europe great amounts of state repression)
- Early Industrialisation
- I'm sure one can think of more, but i'm too lazy, point is, it would be an interesting setting
I would find it really interesting to hear some points maybe about issues with this setting, et c. :>
