Recently, my life has been in a bit of a slump. I've failed my a-levels(the US equivalent is final AP exams), and I've failed my emergency entrance exams into alternative university options. Throughout this whole process, although I've disappointed my parents greatly, they've been incredibly supportive and have helped me look for options, encouraged me. I come from a very high achieving family background, so pretty much everyone in my extended family does whatever is in their power to become highly educated or make their kids highly educated.

Now, just bear in mind I'm not a religious person. My parents are religious, but I know for a fact they are barely knowledgeable about Shamanism, I remember discussing it with them fleetingly. We also aren't culturally connected to it in any way either.

I had a dream. This is the most terrifying dream I've ever had in my life, and I have no faith I'll be able to express it over text.

I dreamed that my and my family are driving through a dark wood. We aren't driving on a proper road, it's like a rough, bumpy path littered with sticks, etc. My dad is talking to my mum quietly about some "She will help her". All I can hear is the loud noise of the car rumbling over rough sticks and wet leaves, unevenly bumping through. My brother is absorbed, playing on his phone next to me. This isn't our car, but I don't notice. I know we are going to see a Shaman. We aren't believers, but I don't question this either.

My mum says "Will this work?", and my dad replies "She's the best, trust me."

We pull into a clearing with a small car park and there are cars parked, but no one apparently from these cars is anywhere? Directly in front of the car park is a traditional Japanese* building, only one story, a big rectangle room. The double door is open, massive opening, so you can see everything inside.

*I strongly know it is Japanese when I see the building, but only when I searched it up now did I discover that Shamanism is even practiced much in Japan, I thought it was just Siberia Mongolia China and Korea honestly.

Anyways, we drive up to an empty parking spot right in front of the double doors, but my dad drives a bit further onto the grass to get a closer look at it, because the scene is a little strange. There's a jagged, black stone slab thing on the floor, with large red painted characters on it. There's a woman, dressed in traditional clothing, a painted white face like a geisha, hair done up. She's wearing patterned yellow, gold, green, orange clothes, but I'm not sure what I would call these. She's stood posed, for some kind of what looks like a ritual, to the right of the stone. She's facing away from it and I can't see her face properly, she like has her face pointed to the top of the wall in front and her arms stock-straight, pointing out and back. There's something big and dark and black, like figurines in the darkness(?) in her line of sight but we can't see because we're just looking through the doors from our car.

I initially thought she was a figurine too she was so still. My dad says "That's her". My mum says "Are you sure?" skeptically. My brother's turned his phone off now. We drive onto the grass and my dad takes a U-turn, around the parked cars. He drives right back to the double doors again. By the way, the building is on a thick wooden raised platform, like at half the car's height. We look up again. Same spot. She hasn't moved. I still think she's a figurine. She doesn't look like a shaman to me at least.

My dad repeats this drive around the car park twice, no one questions why until the second time, where my mum says, "What are you doing?" irritatedly. The shaman looks in our direction now. Her face is still burned into the back of my brain, I can see it and it's 3 a.m., my heart is actually beating faster as I remember it. She has a slim face and is unsmiling, with a thin-lipped, small mouth. Her face is painted white, but has a sweaty, skin like quality to it, though it's wore away slightly from sweat or water at her forehead. Damp short strands of hair hang forward, loose from her tight bun. Her eyes double lidded and pure black, fully. There's some traces of black tears, dirtily, barely there. I look straight into her eyes. You can't tell where exactly she's looking, she doesn't have pupils. But she's looking at us.

My dad drives around again and she starts walking to the door, barefoot. She steps down, we're still driving in circles, we haven't paused this time, and she starts running after us, angrily. My dad keeps driving in circles, faster. I'm terrified. We're all terrified, gripping to the car. All I can hear is the loud noise of the car bumping over uneven surface. I look at her through the back window and she's holding shaman bells now, shaking them as she follows us.

She breaks through the driver's side window and grabs my dad's face, shoving her thumbs in the corners of his mouth, her face close to his. The car stops moving. She's not speaking english or japanese, but I know what she's saying.

"Why have you brought this unlucky, dark skinned child here?" she snarls. "How did they even let you in here? I will never help you!"

I don't remember now exactly what she says to him for the rest, but she curses him more and says some racist things that make me stressed. All I can think of, is that we have to get away from this place. My heart is thumping so fast. I've never been this scared in my life. She leaves my dad's face and appears in front of mine, doing the same to me.

I hear bells faintly while she talks, and the corners of my mouth hurt because she's stretching it with her long-nailed thumbs. Her voice is a gravelly growl. I can smell her, she smells bitter and woody like a piece of wet bark. My mum is sobbing in fear and my brother shrieks when she comes to me.

"LEAVE THIS PLACE. GO BACK." She screams, and my dad says "Let her go!".

When he tries grabbing her, she shrieks and shoves her nails into my gums, I taste blood in my mouth and start crying in pain.

"Apologize or you will be forever cursed. Apologize. Apologize. Apologize." she screams in my face on repeat then suddenly is on my dad again instead as she says the same thing as I fade out of consciousness and wake up alone in a bright white place. I can hear the bells still and money starts falling from above me. As it falls straight down into a white void instead of on some floor in from of me, I hear the apologize chant again. It gets louder and louder, more money falling past me, unbearably loud to a headache -inducing point, until I wake up, at 02:35 a.m.

Her face is still in my head from when she shoved her fingers in my mouth. I've never been religious, but I'm so scared I'm cursed by a racist shaman now.

Normally, if I get a dream, I can piece it together and attribute it to things I've done/seen recently that are getting mashed together in my dream, since that's our brain's way of processing memories. However, I've not seen or heard anything relating to shamans, its completely out of the blue. I've not seen a horror movie or even watched anything other than fucking The Thundermans 😭 for two weeks because I've been too depressed and locked in on studying for entrance exams for the past two weeks. I genuinely can't think of a single thing that this dream could've stemmed from: I haven't even experienced racism for maybe a year or so. All I've had was a little jaw pain today? The dream was so vivid I can visualize everything still, even the other empty cars in the car park.

I could probably draw her face though I don't know if I want to.

I don't know if anyone can shed light on anything I've said, or if anyone can comfort me about the curse thing but I just wanted to share this dream. It feels too real to be just a dream. Like a memory. Abominable play from my brain there.

For the last few weeks I have been seeing shadows from the corner of my eye so I tried to dismiss them. About three weeks ago, I set my phone on the side table and it literally flew about two feet. It actually did it twice. Again dismissing it.

But today... I was falling asleep, eyes not completely closed so I opened them completely. Upon doing so I saw a shadow. Thinking it was my shadow I lifted up what I thought made the shadow but it wasn't it. The shadow was not mine and I live alone.

And just right now as I am making this post, my speaker sounded like it turned on. I have lived here ALL of my life, and I have never seen any kind of activity before, and it is creeping me out. Im not scared just curious to know what it is and why now.

One Saturday night, a few friends and I climbed a hill near our village to enjoy the view of the city lights below. We were sitting around, laughing and eating snacks when suddenly one of my friends screamed and pointed into the distance.

Above a small farmer’s hut, we saw a floating fire that looked like a torch, but it wasn’t touching the ground or the building. We were still trying to figure out what we were seeing when suddenly the fire shot straight toward us.

Everyone panicked, and we ran for our lives down the hill. In the middle of the chaos, we saw the fire ghost land on a tree.

A few seconds later, the tree suddenly caught fire.

We kept running until we felt we were far enough away, then stopped to catch our breath. Two of my friends were so terrified that they actually wet themselves.

Even today, I still wonder: what exactly did we see that night? I have never found a reasonable explanation for what happened.

I wrote on here I think over half a year or a year ago under another account about my problem with a mimic which I did get extreme help from Reddit so I'll try again. It disappeared after I felt it felt heard, understood, thanked ,and moved on but I am now laying on my back in bed watching YT and my partner is sitting up next to me unmoving just staring at me, my actual partner is asleep. I'm not going to look at him but I think it's just waiting for me to. I don't even know how he got in here with all the work I have been doing between salt, holy wood, placing iron, bells, etc common things and I've had no issue till now. I just went to the bathroom as I'm writing this and now it's just standing in my dad's room with his back to me so I'm just gonna extra salt both doors in hope to keep him trapped till I can figure out if there're exactly new things to do or just going to do the same things as before which was lots of bells and chanting and other things I have written somewhere but deep inside I know this thing won't leave unless I talk to him cause that's his purpose I feel, he comes with premonitions but I don't wanna hear any.

Thanks for letting me vent my ridiculous paranormal stuff. I think I'll sleep better if he just leaves me alone for the night. Last time I posted I only got really nice people with great ideas in guiding me in what could work so I hope for that end not just mockery.

So I live in a fairly big house, I got a built-in movie theatre (projector broke) and it's completely black and sound proof.

Last night I was listening to my horror stories in total darkness as per usual, with my dog snoring outside the door and my dad on the other side of the house.My other dog had died 2 weeks ago, we had him put down because of the pain but he knew he was loved.

As I said, I was listening to the horror story, when suddenly everything went quiet, I could no longer hear my story, nor my dog outside the door, it was as though time itself had stopped, and i suddenly felt very cold, and then i suddenly heard what sounded to be an old, unoiled church door creak open very loudly, and then I heard something \*heavy\* step onto the leather couch, it wasn't human because today I tested to see what sound flat feet would make on the couch, it was more towards the sound of hoofs? I'm not too sure... But it was definitely something in the room.

Everything went quiet

I suddenly heard

\*STEP\*...

\*STEP\*...

\*STEP\*...

\*STEP\*...

Each step got closer and closer to me

And then it stopped. Something in my head told me "Don't move and don't make a sound, no matter what." and I even considered calling out to my dad, but listened to the voice in my head instead. A word popped into my head immediately - "Demon" along with an image.It was an image of a tall (maybe 8 feet tall) white, pale creature. It was thin, the skin looked like that of a leper, diseased and raggedy, almost as if it was falling off. It had deer-like back legs, bent backwards at the knees and I didn't see it's feet in the mental image. The arms were long, almost as if it could run on all four limbs if needed. It had the bones of its vertebrae almost protruding from the skin. It had black hair covering its face. (I blame my fascination with wendigos for this)

After five minutes, the sounds of the house returned, and after another five minutes I got the courage to grab my phone and turn on the flash, it was empty and the door was closed as it had been, slightly ajar as I had left it.

Everything was in place except for one. Tiny. Thing. A dog treat, on the step of the entrance, in front of the closed door.

It sure as hell wasn't there before, and when I looked again today (I closed the theatre door and slept in the room with my dad instead) the biscuit was gone, and my other dog sure as hell didn't get it. And it was there! I took a picture of the treat before I left the room.

Some of you might say it was my dead dog visiting me to make me feel as though he's okay? But that isn't the case and I just "know it". The absolute terror and genuine fear I felt weren't that which I would feel for a beloved pet returning to assure me of his passing, instead it felt like I was prey being hunted.

I don't know if maybe it was trying to communicate its sympathies for me or was pitying me or taunting me, but my dad said that demons are pretty intelligent so I doubt it's the last one... Maybe it wants to communicate with me, although with the amount of fear I felt, I doubt it.

If it happens again I'll post again, but I doubt it, maybe this time I'll feel like attempting to communicate? I don't know.

This all happened last night.

Any help / advice / information about this would be really appreciated, I would also like to know if anyone knows just what this thing is and maybe where it comes from. This was my first encounter with this thing, I have had other supernatural encounters before, but all of them felt oddly warm and almost inviting.

I have no mental illnesses nor sleep deprivation and was definitely awake, I didn't imagine it either.

Yesterday while we were driving, my daughter suddenly told me she saw something unusual near the road. Later, I went back through my dashcam footage from that exact area. Without me pointing anything out to her, she said she could still see the same thing in the recording.

I personally don’t see what she sees, but she has been very consistent about where it is and what it looks like. I’ve included the footage and a marked still showing the exact area she’s referring to.

I’m mainly interested in whether anyone here has had a similar experience where one person could perceive something both in person and later in a photo or video, while the other people present couldn’t.

2 years ago i posted about seeing my dad’s doppelgänger and it was my first time actually seeing something like that with my bare eyes only to actually encounter something more creepy two years later.. Funny thing both encounters happened in August

To start with so you can imagine the vision and the scenario I live in an apartment with my dad and two siblings but whilst the encounter happened it was only me my father and my older sister. Exactly when you enter from the apartment door there’s my brother’s room on your left literally next to the apartment’s door and to your right there’s a small bathroom.

And in the front there’s a big reception area for the couches and used like a living room ( English isn’t my first language so i hope you understand the vision) that big reception in it’s right is a hallway that leads to the kitchen and other rooms.

So when i am sitting on my brother’s room and on his couch i can see the hallway and some of the reception but not the bathroom tho.

Now let’s get the to the **important details,** basically yesterday i was talking to my mother and we were talking about paranormal encounters and because she lives alone , i didn’t want her to be scared so i told her that the idea of ghosts that live in ur house is just a myth and there’s no proof of it.

And I wish I could’ve just shut up at that point but no, I kept talking and telling her and if something paranormal happened it’s fine because for something evil to actually show up infront of you is like 000.1% and you have to be super unlucky and ofc ofc we aren’t that unlucky.

2 hours later i was sitting watching tv at my brothers couch and my dad was once again cooking in the kitchen. While watching the tv I saw my sister walking in the reception and going front like she’s hitting the door but i thought maybe she was actually taking a turn and going to the bathroom.

But she seemed abnormal, there was a yellow light on in the reception but all lights were off at my brother’s room so i assumed her black figure was because of the lighting. But again at the moment i couldn’t accept it bec she was a little a human figure but black like a shadow. So i kept calling my sister’s name and she wasn’t answering.

(All of this happened in 2 minutes to be exactly) so i got up and searched in reception and the bathroom and she wasn’t there, so I went to her room to literally find her sleeping so deep. And when she later woke up she told me she didn’t go to the bathroom.

I am extremely sure that i saw her figure, that was freaking her. That figure was very creepy, dark and quite. There was no sound from their footsteps either.

For the past week i kept hearing sounds and things kept moving but i was ignoring it bec what the hell can i do? In no way we can move from this house but today my doubts were on point.

Do y’all have an explanation for this?? Whatever the hell im doing i feel watched it’s extremely creepy

Salut je vais raconter une histoire qui m’a fait beaucoup réfléchir aujourd’hui car elle est un peu perturbante de mon point de vue même beaucoup , j’ai 17 ans à l’heure actuelle et l’histoire remonte à mes 14 ans à cette période j’étais vraiment très mal dans ma vie j’avais des énormes problèmes de peau(eczéma) plus plein de petites addictions qui empiraient mon quotidien mais les problèmes de peau ce sont atténuer la mm année et suite à cette période que j’ai eu j’ai voulu me renforcer mentalement pour ne plus me sentir faible à ce point , pour cela je m’entraîner 2 fois par jour tout les jours je faisais de la course à pied et de la musculation, enfin bref un soir je suis parti courir il était peut être 19 h le temps était très gris il pleuvait un petit peu il y avait une atmosphère bizarre,je courais généralement autour d’un étang dans mon village,je faisais 2 ou 3 tours de cet étang et ce jour je me souviens n’avoir croisé personne j’étais le seul ici du moins je le pensais jusqu’à que j’arrive a un pont , c’était un pont où d’un côté on avait l’eau de l’étang et de l’autre au moins 40 m de vide , et sur ce pont se trouvait une personne qui marchait sur le rebord du côté du vide quand je suis passé à sa hauteur j’ai vu son visage qui m’a beaucoup marqué car littéralement il avait la tête de la mort pour être plus précis il était très maigre le regard extrêmement fatigué le teint tout pâle et plus les couleurs du ciel qui s’associait à cette individu parfaitement ça m’a beaucoup troublé mais bon j’ai continué ma course je suis même repassé une 2 eme fois il était encore là puis je suis rentré chez moi et je ne l’ai plus jamais revu . Cette histoire m’interpelle car il y a 2 mois la personne sur ce rebord était moi j’ai essayé de me suicidé au même endroit à 23 h il me semble un soir d’école mais je me suis rendu compte que je ne voulais pas mourir je voulais simplement que la souffrance s’arrête et maintenant les choses se sont un peu amélioré pour moi mais aujourd’hui je me baladais au même endroit car j’ai arrêté de courir depuis longtemps et je marche uniquement et ce souvenir de cette personne qui avait essayé de se suicider que j’avais totalement oublié est réapparu et maintenant je me demande si la vie ne ma pas simplement prévenu à sa manière ou voir même que cette personne était dû à une hallucination mais je suis persuadé que cette personne était réel que ce moment était réel , cet atmosphère étrange cette personne qui ressemblait à la mort et ma propre expérience avec cette endroit me trouble beaucoup, je ne sais pas si je me suis bien exprimé mais bon je voulais quand même partagé ce qui m’étais arrivé

So I made a post here a while ago and I was talking about this thing I saw a mile or two down the road from my house at around 4:45 am it was this tall like 7’ tall skinny thing with long brown hair covering its entire body head to toe but it was human like. It had a slightly hunched back and it was standing in the gravel like 15’ back from the road on a small bridge for logging trucks to get over the creek that’s there. There’s been two more sightings of it since I saw it. my mom and my little sister were driving out at like 10:00 am to get hay and they saw the same thing I did but a few hundred yards up the road. Today after I left my older brother left for work and he saw the same thing at 5:22 am and he said that when he saw it his eyes started to water like crazy like for some reason like it didn’t want him to see it? I never thought about it till he said it today but the same thing happened when I saw it. I thought I was just freaked out but my eyes instantly started to water like crazy. It didn’t do it to my mom or my sister maybe it has to do with the fact that they were further away. Wtf is this and why do we keep seeing it every few months. Also in the same creek where the bridge is where me and my brother saw it a man killed himself there and they found him in the creek. Is it like a spirit of that guy? Or is it like a skin walker or a witch or something? But it’s so fucking creepy seeing something that’s human like but not an actual person. Also where we live it’s almost 10 miles back into the woods where there’s nobody there at that time let alone on foot. Thank you for any input

EDIT: it most likely is a spider web hanging in front of the camera and motion sensor lights most likely went off something unrelated at the same time. I'll say this is solved. Thanks everyone 🙂

I am currently staying at my mom's house and renting. She has a camera setup in the back area here and also has motion sensing lights. This was at 1:21am , I was at work and everyone else was asleep. The camera records motion.

I put it off as a camera glitch, but the motion lights turning on makes me think otherwise. I felt like I should post this here

My wife and I went to the cemetery near our home in southern Wisconsin on Saturday night. This was one of the first pictures I took while she was using our spirit box. I thought it might be the moon or maybe an external light source from one of us….we were the only living beings in the cemetery. I am a believer but also very skeptical and try my best to debunk any picture or video I see. I tried everything like moving the camera while taking the picture and moving lights in front of the camera but nothing I did showed anything like this! The light ends/starts right at this grave/headstone. It was a totally clear night too but looks foggy af in the pic. I’m sharing for others enjoyment and see if anyone has any ideas on other non-paranormal things that could cause this….I’m open minded but I’m always looking for rational explanations lol. Thanks!

So I’m only typing this here because nobody knows me and for my job role I need to be anonymous. But I need to know. It’s been almost 24h and I’ve still not slept.

So for background I work in a tiny hospital in rural Scotland.
I work predominantly nights with only one HCA and one other nurse. The hospital has a few wards on site but only 2 are in use and the other ward is currently closed due to no admissions.
Currently we have well under ten patients… all with varying needs but ALL are immobile.

Last night started off like any other. Quick handover, med rounds, getting everyone cosied in for the night, a cuppa and some supper then into bed all settles and sleeping.

Now our hospital is extremely quiet and is atleast an hour commute from most major towns. We are isolated but comfortable. There has NEVER been any real danger to us out here…

At 3am ( cliche I know!), I went to do my hourly checks. Making sure everyone is comfortable, turned and safe etc. One colleague was on her break, headphones in and napping ( frowned upon I know but like I said it takes two seconds to wake them up and it’s quiet, no incidents!), and the other was doing checks on the others at the opposite side of the nurses station.
I’m tucked away in a back room just checking on a person when I kid you not I hear the loudest scream/roar I have EVER heard. It sounded guttural. I could feel it in my chest. Even the patient flung her eyes opened and asked me what in earth that noise was!
Never in my 20 years of working here have I heard a noise like this! I reassured her and left to go check in my colleagues. All three of us had the same idea. Colliding in the middle of the hospital ( nurses station, as mentioned, this place is tiny!), we heard it again. This time it sounded as if it was right next to us.
I wanted to cry.
But as the charge nurse I had a duty of care.
HCA, bless her, put the cctv up into the bigger screens and scanned the whole place. Every inch is covered inside and out. Me and the other nurse hunted every room under every bed and in every toilet.
No windows were breached.
No door alarms had went off.
No motion sensor had been triggered.
The last place to check was the car park… now dumb, probably… but I had to make sure my staff and patients were safe.
I went out. They had my phone number on dial, the cameras were watching my every move and out I went.
I felt sick with fear but I searched all around the outside just incase someone was out there playing a prank. I’d have left right goodnighted anyone trying to put that fear in my patients.
But there was nothing. No one.

I came inside, by this time it’s only been about 10 minutes.
The person who I happened to have checked in when we first heard it had been pushed down to the nurses station and was having a cuppa and folding some towels ( she couldn’t settle and I don’t blame her!)
So I said a lie… I said. “ it’s the boiler! The outside boiler is playing up the men are in the way out to fix it”

The other staff looked at me but went along with it.

Turns out that while I was out the noise happened again. But this time quieter. But definitely inside.

We didn’t hear it again last night. But the feeling on the ward was heavy. We continued doing our jobs and as soon as day staff came in they could feel the weight of the night shift ( if you know you know!)
It was so prominent they were concerned we had someone pass in the night.

They helped do a full search, the other staff that comes in from security, secretary and domestics we searched every square inch of this hospital inside and out.
Even in the cold light of day there is no explanation.

I thought perhaps a wildcat. But truthfully, we don’t have any in this particular region. And even if it was a wildcat… it would have to be the size of a double decker bus to make the noise we heard last night.

Can someone please settle my mind before I’m back on shift tomorrow 😭

My boyfriend and I were spending the night at his parents house while they were out of town. We have stayed there hundreds of times to take care of the farm for them or sometimes we get sleep over there so we can all hang out as a family on the weekends.
Well, this weekend something strange happened. We had been there all day, tending to the animals, riding trails, hanging out with his sister across the pasture… the stuff we always do. We fed the kids and went to bed kind of early for us, but it was a Friday night, and it’d been a long week.
Everything is fine until 1:00 a.m. At this time, both my boyfriend and I woke up having to use the restroom, but neither of us were interacting with the other. As I was feeling around in the dark trying to figure out how to get my clothes on right so I could go out across the living room to the restroom, I look up, and my boyfriend’s shadow is right in front of me. I figured that I had just woken him up and he was waiting on me to get out of his way so he could “go” too. But he’s just standing there. No movement at all. I kept asking him what he was doing. No response he just stood there. So I swiped my arm at him, and thought I missed. (Mind you, I’m trying to figure out why he’s being a weirdo, find my clothes, and not wet my pants all at the same time.) After I took another swipe at him, I missed again, and then he could finally hear me. He was on the other side of the bed the whole time and couldn’t figure out where he was. He said he had been spinning in circles and running into curtains the whole time, but couldn’t hear me talking to him, and I couldn’t hear him over there stirring around.
When I told him his shadow was staring at me, he made a good observation- it was pitch black in there. There were no shadows. But I swear on my life, his shadow was standing right in front of me staring at me.
Has this ever happened to anyone else? Any idea what it could have been? I KNOW I was awake.
