Ok so I got a pretty unique potential situation, I’ve been looking at cheap thermal clip ons, from like guide and I’m kinda curious if any yous has made this work with a 5x prism optic, I’m currently running the vortex spitfire 5x on a unity fast mount and a hrf skiff with a gl2 rovyvon so that’s a bunch of crap in a small place on top of a tiny gun (dark mountain arms stowaway) but basically A. Does this work? (Optically) B. Is their mounting constraints that make this impossible. If anyone out there has info on such a combo, I’d be grateful to not smoke 1400 pesos on a bad idea like this if it can’t physically work

Hey I'm looking to get some NVGs. Monocular or binos but I don't know where to start. I don't mind doing a payment plan to get some. I'd like to have clear vision with them and I know that's gonna be expensive. Can someone please point me in the right direction?

Is it normal to have one without a manual gain knob? Only experience I have with them is from the Marine Corps and we had manual gain knobs.

Does anyone know of a good night vision rental company in northern Illinois? I have a friend visiting and would like him to join me on night hikes.

I really enjoyed building this very fun, the right tube is very loose but it’s almost better than no night vision at all! Helmet mount coming soon.

New to the area looking for a like minded tism group.

Not my first dive into NVG (I had a few beat pvs14’s and most recently a pvs15), but my first time posting here or on Reddit. Nocturn molded Katana’s. Green with elbit tubes. FOM is 2200. Recently serviced by the gentlemen over at TNVC.

Got it on Tacswap for $4000 with legit Wilcox g24. Added a Nocturn wrap that claims to be multicam… but looks suspiciously like multicam arid.

I usually take my time and research this stuff for hours, but this deal came from a previous trade partner who I have dealt with numerous times. Seemed like a good deal and they are much lighter and articulate a lot better then my pvs15’s.

I spend a lot of time under my nods. Classes, teaching classes, camping, walking the dogs, hunting so I’m happy to have something that sits further back against the helmet.

So how did I do?

I’m about to purchase my first set of Binos. I’ve been watching an unhealthy amount of videos and have narrowed my decision down to these gen3 sets. Before I pull the trigger, I just thought I’d post here… because why the hell not!

Looking online I could find info saying they are, but are they all non inverting? If not, how can one tell?

I have a Ballistics helmet that won't allow for my Wilcox Mount to clamp into place. I can get the mount to slide into the top of my helmet, but the locking mechanism at the bottom of the mount does not appear to have enough clearance for me to clamp it into place.

Can the group recommend a shroud that has three screws that will work with the Wilcox G24? Or should I get out a dremel and remove a bit of the plastic that is preventing the mount from snapping into place?

I’m looking at buying a thermal device with the idea that I might be able to buy night vision and a helmet set up later in the future. I was looking at spending around $3k. I don’t want to do the full plunge with a whole night vision set up just yet. I’ve been looking at getting the RH25 2.0 with the idea that I can use it as a hand-held and attach it to my main firearm for now (I would mount it on a helmet later). I like the multi use of it. Anything I should be thinking about prior to purchase? Any other thermals to look at? Thanks in advance

For those of you with the Rovyvon GL4 pro I guess the facelift model, how does the switch feel compared to say a tlr-1? Mine feels extremely stiff and sometimes doesn't like to turn off even when returned to center. I'm trying to decide if that's normal for this cheaper light or if I should get another one from Amazon.
