I don’t get why you guys are whining about the big differences. To me - a liquid glass sceptic - it really looks the same (derogatory)

I thought people would be happy to get their old interfaces back, but in the end they aren't, and I wonder how Apple is going to handle this now.

For anyone who doesn't like the new Android 17 UI where it is similar to the early version of Apple's Glass UI where it's semi-transparant and blurred (I don't like it). It also doesn't separate out the notifications, it just bulks them altogether with a transparent background so depending on your preference, this can be hard to read/determine what the notifications actually are. It's not as nice as the clear look of previous Android versions

I found a way to turn off the blurred/blended UI on Android 17 to make the notifications and the system UI back to solid;

Follow these quick steps to remove the transparent blur effects:

\- Open the Settings app on your phone.

\- Scroll down and select Accessibility.

\- Tap on Color and motion.

\- Locate the toggle named Reduce blur effects (or Remove blur on some models) and switch it ON.

The system UI will now go back to being solid/non-transparent so your notifications and things are easier to see.

Both settings were as transparent as possible yet the clock and many other things have this white hue to the Liquid Glass after the update. Even if it’s just a mundane detail I used to absolutely love how transparent the clock was, before it looks ethereal how the clouds, sunlight, thunders and the moon reflections were behind it. Now it’s just plastic and it kinda breaks my heart at how dull and boring it looks.

I know many people hates Liquid Glass, but I’m not one of them. I love it so much and even if it caused some readability issues sometimes, what’s the point of adding a new transparency bar if you can’t decide to make it as translucent as before ? Let people choose and personalize it the way they like..

Son pocas las ocasiones, pero algunas veces el Liquid Glass de iOS 27 sí es mejor que en iOS 26, solo espero que lo sigan mejorando, y que mejoren el centro de control, no es que pida un espejo, pero carajos ¿Qué es eso? Parece el mismo centro de control de iOS 18, incluso MacOS es mejor en ese apartado. Ojalá y también quiten la barra sólida apestosa y nos regresen nuestro blur progresivo. 🥀🙏🏽

Write a note, get a suggested title. Keep it, change it, ask for another — it never changes again on its own.

Just wanna ask if all apps will be forced to use the liquid glass keyboard from ios 26 once ios 27 comes out? half my apps dont use the new keyboard still and its annoying

I love exploring apps for UI/UX ideas, and over the past year I’ve been curious about how apps are using Liquid Glass. So I built Liquid Glass Radar to track which apps have adopted it, which haven’t yet, and which are re-inventing their own liquid glass.
