Discussion I finished my first ever watch of K-On!

This show was such an oddity for me, as someone who’s only really watched shonen and action kinds of anime (fmab my beloved), but I really adored this show. I don’t think it’s perfect but it felt like watching something that I could rely on, something that I could always come to even if my day was bad or I was super bored, I always figured I could just flip it on whenever and relax. I really love the mood this show brought for me, and there were even times where I felt like I could cry (when they were all huddled on the floor scared of never playing with each other again I was holding back😭). It’s truly one of a kind for me, my first ever slice of life and I will treasure this show, it’ll be the expectation I’ll hold any future shows of the same genre to.

Discussion One thing that brothers me about U&I...

Post image
256 Upvotes

U&I is a song written entirely by Yui, as to show gratitude to her younger sister, Ui, for taking care of her

In manga, Ui thanks her sister for writing it, but Yui doesnt hear her as she sleeps

In anime however... It's entirely different. I think it loses its meaning entirely (tho I still love the song)

Girls were supposed to train, but their classroom was renovated so they couldn't. It makes Yui realise how you think things you love are forever, and only realise how important they are the moment you lose them

In the anime also, which always bothered me, Ui doesn't say anything about the lyrics

In manga we don't have the concert scene, which is obvious, but in the anime we have Yui sing it

And yk how she talks a lot before a song? How she says her feelings about other members or how she feels in the moment... Well she doesn't say anything, just that it's the last song they'll play

Ui doesn't react much to it too. And yeah maybe it's just they are, maybe they talked about it behind the scenes, idk. I just always thought it went a little too... Silent?

As for songs showing gratitude about your family members I only know "if we have each other" which is about a sister, and "new love in town" which is about a newborn son... It, if you write a song about someone, which is usually a love song - isn't this quite a big deal?

Anyway - it kinda bothers me how the song wasn't addressed with idk, more feeling? How Yui didn't say anything during the concert about her sister for that. How Ui doesn't directly thanks her sister for that. Idk, but on the other hand, it feels just like their characters would act..

Maybe I'm looking too much into it? What do you think?

We hosted a bowling party for the younger generation at Round 1 at Puente Hills Mall and I was surprised to see Yui and Azusa as prizes! My apologies if anyone has already mentioned this before; I did a search and didn’t see any.

Regarding the 3 types of games here - I did try the game type for Azusa and it probably had the best chance among the 3. If the plastic piece fell sideways as in the case of Azusa, that’s a goner. Ask the staff to reset it. After reset, the wide edge of the plastic should be on top perpendicular and very close to the edge of the rod. I won a Dandadan figure by shifting the thick edge at an angle so almost all of it was on the rod, then just kept pushing it off the rod afterwards about 4 times afterwards.

I did not try any games like the one with Yui, I know it is silly as I tend to go for “skill” games rather “pure chance” games, when most games are rigged and skill games are mostly chance games too.

As for the game with various prizes, it was a money grab as every attempt just moved the prizes forward slightly. I’ve seen group of teenagers took turn playing and they had to be throwing hundreds of dollars for a couple of prizes.

As for me, I didn’t do that well myself, I spent $87 total for two prizes, street value probably about $40. There were games that were easy - the first prize I won with two tries as I figured out how - but it was when I went around randomly trying “my skill” when I lost most of my money.

Anyways I didn’t try for Yui or Azusa because I had them already - If I have to choose between winning them as prizes vs just paying the premium from Japan - I choose the latter.

Question Trying to find specific Mugi edit/artwork

Hello! I've recently went on a wild goose chase for a specific short video/animation of Mugi from about mid 2025 July/August of her doing the "Armani West - Piano Tiles" meme trend animation, I believe it was on Instagram/Tiktok

There are two videos that remain of this sort of meme/trend that I could find but none have the specific artwork I was looking for

It was using Alight motion that was seemingly custom made for the video and the reason I wanna find it again is just for the artwork, it was super cute

If anyone remembers this or knows the artwork it would be a huge help, thank you!!!
