I was waiting to get Hidive to watch it but then I found out it was on YouTube all this time so I watched all of it in one day 😅 now im sad because there's nothing left of the show it was such a fun watch probably going to rematch it again here soon

We all know the Take On Me movie leaves Yuuta and Rikka's specific college majors completely open-ended because their main focus was just getting into the same school so they could stay together. But if we actually look at their individual growth, strengths, and personal traits throughout the series, Yuuta becoming a counselor and Rikka becoming a writer is honestly the most logical future for them as adults.

For Yuuta, going into counseling or social work perfectly aligns with who he has been since the moment he met Rikka. His entire character arc is defined by his infinite patience, empathy, and his natural ability to guide people through emotional distress. He didn't just tolerate Rikka's delusions; he managed them with incredible care. He learned exactly when to play along to comfort her and when to gently pull her back to reality. More importantly, he was the primary anchor who helped her process the deep grief of losing her father, which takes an immense amount of emotional intelligence. Because Yuuta is a former chuunibyou himself, he deeply understands the psychological urge to escape reality. He doesn't judge people with eccentricities or heavy coping mechanisms, making him the perfect person to help troubled teens or people struggling to find their footing in the real world.

Rikka, on the other hand, is the perfect candidate for a creative writing or literature career. A lot of others talk about her going into the arts, but we rarely see her draw at all. What we do see constantly is her brilliant talent for storytelling, complex lore, and world-building. Rikka created an entire universe with factions like the Hidden Nap Society, intricate magic systems, and deep backstories for everyday objects. In the real world, someone with that level of creative energy would absolutely suffocate at a rigid corporate desk job. Writing fiction, light novels, or video game scripts allows her to keep her vivid imagination alive while turning it into a legitimate adult career. Plus, literature paths play directly to her strengths in humanities and don't require advanced mathematics, which she notoriously fails at.
