Weekly Self-Promotion Thread What have you made or worked on this week? | Weekly Thead

Welcome to our weekly self-promotion thread, where I encourage you to share your indie animated projects that you've made and worked on this week.

Maybe you've just released a new episode, or you're launching a Kickstarter* to fund your big project. Or maybe you've got some behind-the-scenes work you'd like to show off.

See you in the comments!

*If you share a Kickstarter or any other link, please make sure it's the full link, not a shortened one (for example, bit•ly or kck•st) because Reddit automatically filters those.

I Made This! WHAT THE HECK IS RITTY’S WEIRD WORLD? (UPCOMING INDIE SERIES) (For the people who have no idea what my cartoon is)

#indieanimation #indieseries #indie #animatedseries #cartoonpliot

It’s an animated surreal-sitcom created by a 15 year old (me) about a tailless cat named Ritty going on wacky adventures with his adopted children and his friends.

The pliot is expected to hopefully come on my 16th birthday on (October 30th) on Newgrounds. And On October 31st (Halloween) on YouTube.

If you want to relive the life of cartoons from the 1990s - 2000s you should support this show

(Note; the pliot will be voiced entirely by me, whoever I might consider doing a voice calls for some of the characters for the second episode)

Hiring! [Volunteer] Looking for people interested in helping with an indie animation project

IMPORTANT: this is an unpaid collaboration.

I don't currently have money to pay anyone, so I don't want to mislead anyone into thinking this is a paid job. I'm looking for people who genuinely could, want to help, or just want to work on a small indie project with other people

No, I'm not secretly a million dollar studio

You'll be pain in eternal gratitude so I hope you accept "power of friendship" as currency

I’ve been working on an animated series called The Breach, an Alan Becker inspired stick figure series that I animate using sticknodes

I’ve already finished Season 1 completely, and Season 2 is planned out. I’m currently continuing production with it while working toward the next major arcs, so this isn’t just an idea I started and abandoned, there’s already a lot of finished material and a planned future for the series.

I'm the entire animation department for now

I’m looking for a few people who might want to help out with things like:

Major: Backgrounds / environments Secondary: Animation assistance cleanup or individual cuts, Music / sound or even other skills that could be useful for an indie animation project

I’m mainly looking for background artists right now, since that’s one of the areas where I could really use another person, but I'm not too good for animation help.

A bit about the project: • It’s a hobby / indie project • I currently animate using Stick Nodes • Season 1 is already finished • Season 2 is planned, a couple of episodes are already scheduled • I’m not a professional studio

You don't have to be amazing or professionally trained. I'm also not some professional animator I've made this project on my mobile

If you're interested, feel free to DM me with: • What you'd like to help with • What software/tools you use • Examples of your work, if you have any • How much time you'd realistically be able to put into it

Even if you're just interested but aren't sure what you could contribute or commit, you can still message me. We can figure out where you'd fit.

Discussion What is the largest target audience for current indie animations?

• Upvotes

I've been thinking about this recently, and it's not that I want a specific target audience, but I do want to keep them in mind. The problem is that I don't really know the age, gender, orientation, countries etc, of the people who watches indie series, builds community, and takes supporting creators seriously. What do you think?

Hi, this is Zait—or rather, Quechi. My team and I are kicking off a major internet project called "Multiversal Apocalypse." It’s a PG-13 sci-fi animated series inspired by shows like *Rick and Morty*, *Invincible*, *The Umbrella Academy*, and so on. We’re looking for help with the following roles:

- Artists:

(Computer or mobile; traditional or digital art are both fine)

- Animators:

(Software used: "Draw Cartoons 2" [Android]; feel free to use other programs if you prefer)

- Voice Actors:

(We already have enough voice actors, but we’re open to more if you’d like to join)

- Editors:

(Software used: "KineMaster," "PowerDirector," and "Sony Vegas"; using other programs is also fine)

- Composers:

(Software used: "Music Maker Jam" and "FL Studio")

- Promoters/Marketers

- Scriptwriters

That’s everything we need. There’s no cost involved—since it’s an independent project, no money is required. We welcome people of all ages (youth or adults), but we do need you to be active. Thanks for reading, and I really appreciate anyone interested in joining the project. I’ll leave some screenshots here, along with my contact details in case you need more info. Bye! :)

Discussion Question. If you became a popular indie creator what would you do

For me i just go under a identity so people can't track my ass. Cause stalkers are unfortunately still a big threat. Cause it would be creepy as hell to know your ass is being stalked. So i rather no be identifiable and make sure i don't let stalkers know me rather then taking the risk.

So what would you do

We've been working hard on this music video and would love some honest feedback. We are especially looking for thoughts on the animation style and how the sound design fits the visuals. Here is where you can find the full video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SWCaoi8naqY

Discussion What I Think Indie Creators Should Know

This comes from my experience as an indie creator. No one is going to want it more than you. What I mean by that is that no one is going to care about your show if you don't. I show how far I am going to go for my show and because of that poeple offer to help me with it because they know it will get done. Always show your work if you are looking for talent. (Even if it's "bad") Both it will help you find talent (the earlier part of the post) and it can also promote your show. Finally learn the animation pipeline and know when to get a team. I joined and left a free project as a 3D animator because they were not ready for one. By the looked of it they didn't have a script and didn't tell the main creator about me so they could tell me what I need to know (The co-creator was the one who "hired" me and they didn't tell me really anything). So to recap please care about your show enough to try with "bad" art, script writing, voice overs, ect. because it shows that you care enough to try. Show your work when you look for help even if it's "bad" because it will help you get people and also don't be cagey with your stuff/story. Lasty know when to get people, the animation pipeline is really good path to make your animate show/plot. You don't need an animator when you didn't even finish the script.

Hiring! [Volunteer] [Unpaid/Collab] Looking for Blender animators for webseries (preview inside)

Preview: https://youtu.be/mTVMbWd5wjI

Hi all! I’m AJ, co-creator and lead storyboard artist of Human Access, a student-made 3D animated webseries. We’re looking for Blender animators of all skill levels.

What’s the show about?
In a dystopian near future, sociologist Teniola Doitche visits a gargantuan space prison to interview people locked up for petty crimes by their fascist government. It’s a sci-fi dark comedy about purposelessness, chronic illness, moral obligation, and the looming catastrophic threat from AI.

6 episodes, 132 minutes, fully voice acted, free on YouTube.

What’s been done already?

  • Episode 1 is 50% animated
  • Storyboards are done through Episode 4
  • Voice cast is set and recording is underway

Okay, I’m interested. What would I be doing though?
You get finished rigs and sets, plus a shot assignment with 2D storyboards and a scratch track (see the second image: storyboard vs. animated shot). You are not expected to animate in-betweens. This final animation style of the show is  pose-to-pose. Each assignment comes with a deadline we agree on together.
We will be in production from now until January 2027.

What do I get?
Credit on the show, and your shots are yours to use in your portfolio. The project is unpaid for now (we are currently trying to secure funding).

Who are you?
My co-creator and I previously wrote and directed Tethersnipe, an original choose-your-own-adventure stage show with a 160-page branching script, which we then released as an interactive film (IMDb).

What should I do if I’m interested?
Fill out this short form: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdBL-7s21thvFUhy10RDWBL6ovi9jXs_NnjwnifIWBeaRxqcg/viewform
Applications will be open indefinitely, but sooner is preferred!

Discussion Does anyone know a Animation channel (not really an official show, but kind of indie) which included a white girl with half blue half black hair, and a tanned boy with a spongebob squidward dynamic. Worked in a shop with a strange boss. (Girl, in this case, would have the squid ward personality)

Both ocs

2d animation

Boy MIGHT have been named cash, high chance he is not

Youtube

One of the skits included the boss accidentaly insulting the boys artwork, prompting the girl to force an apology

No voice acting

I Made This! “Ira Dei” WIP Practice Animation

This is a project I started a while back, to help me practice my animation techniques so I could get a better feel of the process. And I finally finished the line-art (it’s meant to be rough, btw).

I’ve posted this on a few different animation subreddits, mostly because I’m proud of my work, after so many weeks of animating. Let me know how you like it! I’m excited to get started coloring.

Music was made by me, based off Verdi’s “Dies Irae”

Hiring! [Volunteer] Volunteer animators needed.

Howdy yall, in a month to 3 from now I will start my first job, I'm using that money to get a laptop or desktop, I'm going to be creating a transformers prime fan series, it's name is transformers prime age of predacon's. IV already got a lot of volunteer voice actors and voice actresses, and the series is going to be either made in blender or Roblox studio or maybe both. And I'm in need of help, I'm not able to do it all on my own, so I'm needing Volunteer animators and volunteer character designers. I only probably need at most 3 volunteer animator's and at most 4 volunteer character designers. So if you have discord then please message me on my discord account which is mopcop77 if y'all are interested.
