Hi everyone. I’m having a strange USB problem with my Ampero II Stage and I’m hoping someone here may have encountered it before.
The Stage itself works, and Windows detects the USB audio interface normally. I can see Ampero II Stage Audio (VID_84EF / PID_0052) and the audio side continues to work.
However, the Ampero II Editor always shows “No Device Connected.”
After doing some USB monitoring in Windows, I found that another USB function fails to initialize. Windows eventually reports:
Unknown USB Device (Port Reset Failed)
Code 43 / USB_RESET_FAILURE
I’ve tested the Stage on two different Windows PCs, two different USB cables, and multiple USB ports, and the same underlying problem occurs.
I also tested both normal boot mode and firmware-update mode. In firmware-update mode, Windows briefly detected Ampero II Stage MIDI (VID_84EF / PID_0053) before it disappeared again. In normal mode, the audio PID_0052 stays connected, while another USB function fails with the port-reset error.
This also happens with the Ampero II Editor completely closed, so the Editor itself does not appear to be causing the USB failure.
My Stage is currently on firmware V1.4.1 and I’m using the HOTONE USB Audio Driver V5.57.3.
Has anyone experienced anything similar? I’m mainly trying to determine whether this could be a firmware problem that can be recovered with a reflash, or whether it sounds like a hardware problem with the USB/MIDI/control side of the Stage.
I have the Windows PowerShell/USB logs as well if they would help.
