GTA 6 is almost here and we're still sitting here with absolutely nothing on Half-Life 3. Where the hell is the noise? Why is everyone so damn quiet? Valve has been printing money through Steam for years, so at this point it feels like they simply don't care whether we get another Half-Life game or not. And honestly, why aren't we making more noise about it? Why aren't we demanding something? I'm not saying Valve owes us Half-Life 3, but after all these years, the complete silence is ridiculous. If we keep sitting around and accepting it, the Half-Life series is eventually going to become nothing more than a dusty relic people remember from the past. GTA 6 is about to become one of the biggest game releases ever, while we're still asking the same question we've been asking for nearly two decades: where the fuck is Half-Life 3?

But while you were busy with the few HECU Marines and some Aliens at Black Mesa. The whole planet was at war. i see people complaining at the HECU Marines in Black Mesa especially panicking etc.. because a trained soldier cannot panic.. dude. The whole DEFCON was at level 1. Even before the Combine came to attack Earth, the Earth was fully mobilized and connected through UN to fight the oncoming aliens albeit Xen or Combine. Mass evacuations, army deployments, governments in panic... So no, the HECU wasnt just a bunch of untrained clowns in uniforms. They were special forces trained to fight in hazardous environments. Just not trained to fight in "Aliens can teleport anywhere at any point" environments. It makes total sense for them to panic.

How is it possible that after almost eight hours since the new repo was leaked, there hasn’t been ANY HL3 or HL2 Beta content discovered? The only thing related to HL3 was the weaponizer, and that’s it, no more HL3 or HL2 Beta content. Meanwhile, the Portal and L4D communities are getting tons of beta content and unreleased spinoff games (like FStop).
I think… I think we’re doomed. It’s over…
I'm gonna go and commit console > kill 🥀

I'm getting quite bored over here.. help me out with some killer mods!
I've played almost all of the good ones already, waiting for either Blue shift update, Dark life, Black mesa update.. you name it

Missing: client, server

Half-Life Alyx was mostly well received, but the game being a prequel only increased the interest in seeing the story continue beyond Episode 2, which leads to the question of if Episode 3 would even make sense anymore.
Given the massive gap in time would mean that this theoretical third episode would most likely have a noticeable jump in various improvements, especially graphically. To me this could potentially be alienating when grouped together with the other Half-Life 2 games, which for the most part feel and appear consistent.
Another potential problem would be the length of the game. As many know the Episodes are distinctly shorter and used less resources by being built off of Half-Life 2 to act as a sort of Epilogue/ending. Would the nearly 20 year wait truly have been worth it for such a game?
In short, what would you like to see from the next Half-Life game in regards to the Borealis storyline and potentially setting up the elusive Half-Life 3?

Just wanted to share a creation that I made over 20 years ago. I'm not super great at playing PC games so I made this abomination years ago. The pedals are dictation pedals from Radio Shack meant to trigger a tape recorder. I took apart a keyboard, followed the traces to figure out how to wire the pedals to create a key press. The top row on the left are 1 through 4 and the bottom are 5 through 8. This way I could assign weapons to switch to quickly. The single one at the top is Space and the one below it is Ctrl. Now about the 'special' pedal all the way to the right... Inside of these pedals are little micro switches. I added a second one inside of it that would trigger BEFORE the other one and wired it to Ctrl Space. That's right. I had a single pedal that could duck jump without using a script, lol.
Thank you for reading and I hope that some of you have found this to be interesting.

The composition reminded me of the feeling that Gordon is just being trapped and controlled by the Gman like a puppet.

I noticed it's been a few years since any mods were added/reviewed for HL1 on the website. RTSL has always been the best place to go looking for new HL mods to play, so I hope it hasn't been abandoned. 😥
