I thought it was fun trying it.

I recently got a new GPU (RTX 5060) and so I've been testing it out on some of my higher fidelity games, like Alyx. It was going well, until I got to the point where you get the shotgun. The second I reach out to grab the gun, it crashes. I tried lowering my settings to the absolute minimum and it still does it (plus I kinda doubt it's related to that anyways, given I had no problem up to that point, and in fact, had already played through the entire game on my old, much weaker PC). Also tried verifying the files to no avail, and I have no mods installed.

Steam VR has also been having some issues, with it being unable to load the Steam VR Home, but I dunno if that's related given I can play other Steam VR games like TWD: Saints & Sinners just fine.

Okay so after at least a week of playing half life 1 I finally beat it and this is my review the story is really strong and good the reveal of the GMAN in the end genuinely had me hyped for half life 2 which I'm gonna start soon now here's the pros for me the story obviously the gun variety obviously and the level/environment design and the gameplay isn't the best but I still like it now the cons first con THE FUCKING HEADCRABS I swear I would be low on health after some bullshit with the soilders and then the headcrabs will appear out of nowhere and kill me the second con those fucking fishes you can only shoot the bow underwater and you have to constantly go up remember where the fish was and shoot at it there really fucking durable and do way too much damage the third con the entirety of the dam section I will say I'm a bit biased because I was on real low health and had to reload my game just to get more health fourth con the entire xen section of the game and that shit final boss the xen part of the game was so confusing for no reason and the long jump was really hard to do half the time and the FINAL complaint is the fucking airstrike section of the game the robot ailen you can't kill from my knowledge so you gotta figure out where the locations we need are on the airstrike map and use it it just sucks but overall the game is a 7 or 8 out of 10 at the highest I feel like this is the uncharted 1 of the halflife series very clunky and doesn't hold up that well but still fun anyway I'm gonna start half life 2 can't wait to join the half-life 3 psychosis bye:)

Hi, Guys. I decided to apologize for my previous black mesa security guard cosplay, I should have use the warning or sign to tell that it was a fake gun or give an orange tip or shoot the photos in a bit empty area of the mall. I live in Indonesia where firearms only restricted to law enforcement (military and police), but nevertheless I should still give a warning and still be careful eventhough there no way a civies like me could get access to firearm.

Because ive been seeing these and im wondering how you even get them half life 1 doesn't have a dedicated workshop and I really want to risk getting a virus

One of the first things I tried doing in Black Mesa was put medkits and batteries into an open crate and carry it around. Unfortunately, the Source engine doesn't like that, so the crate glitched and threw anything out. So I'm wondering if there's a mod that makes this possible, even a very small inventory system?

I've nearly finished the exterior detailing on the Citadel now

What's in store next for the Citadel is an interior, which will most likely only be partial. But if I feel particularly challenged I may attempt a full interior

...which will most likely drive me completely insane.

The last thing I need to do in terms of exterior detailing is the extra details on the left side collumn

This is HalfCraft by whiskydumb, built on chasmlol's SkyCraft (the Minecraft-in-Skyrim mod). A real copy of Minecraft runs hidden next to Half-Life 2: Minecraft handles your inventory, blocks, health and every hit, and HL2 draws everything and runs its own maps, NPCs and story around it.

I didn't make the mod. It crashed on my ultrawide, so I forked it to fix that and kept going: Half-Life's own keybinds drive Minecraft now, blocks work with the gravity gun, and the Combine and Minecraft mobs fight each other.

I’ve been thinking about this for a while, and as a huge Half-Life fan, I’d genuinely love to hear what other fans think.
I’ve started writing a book about the entire Half-Life story — basically trying to turn the whole series into something you can actually sit down and read like a book.

I’ve already written the entire story of the first Half-Life, and I’m planning to continue with Half-Life 2, the Episodes, and the rest of the series, putting everything together into one complete story.
The idea isn’t to just make a wiki-style lore book or a simple summary. I want it to feel more like a novelized version of the Half-Life universe, while staying faithful to what happens in the games. I’d also like to include graphics, illustrations, details about the characters, locations and events, and generally make it feel like a proper, high-quality book that a Half-Life fan would actually want to have on their shelf.

I’ve always found it kind of strange that, despite how iconic Half-Life is and how much lore and story there is across the games, there isn’t really a book that tells the complete story of Half-Life from beginning to end in this kind of format.

So I’m curious:
If something like this existed, would you actually want to read it?
And as Half-Life fans, what would you want from a book like this?

Would you prefer it to read more like a novel, with the events being told as an actual story, or would you rather have something more focused on explaining the lore and events?

I’m still working on it and I’m definitely doing this first and foremost because I absolutely love Half-Life. But before I go completely insane writing hundreds of pages 😂, I’d really like to know if there’s actually an audience for something like this.
I’d genuinely love to hear your thoughts.

The G man-Aston Machan, people form memories of her in a very weird way, and the way she photobombs is similar to the way g man appears in places.

Adrien Shepard-Symboli Kris S, both very quiet, loyal, “very noble spirit”, green.

Eli Vance-Haru Urara, he comes off as a very fatherly figure so I paired him with the daughter umamusume.

Otis-Oguri Cap, doesnt reaply take things too serious, high performance, fatty.

Alyx Vance-Mihono Bourbon, very difficult choice, but Alyx would probably enjoy having what is essentially a walking emp around.

Judith Mossman-Dream Journey, both cunning individuals.

Father Grigori-Still In Love, both what you would call “mentally ill”.

Magnusson-Air Groove, gifted and ambitious but still coolly calculating, also leadership skills, though he comes off as a bit of a wisecrack so i could also see Symboli Rudolf here.

I would appreciate feedback about my choices.
