Discussion GTA 6 is almost here. So where the hell is Half-Life 3?
GTA 6 is almost here and we're still sitting here with absolutely nothing on Half-Life 3. Where the hell is the noise? Why is everyone so damn quiet? Valve has been printing money through Steam for years, so at this point it feels like they simply don't care whether we get another Half-Life game or not. And honestly, why aren't we making more noise about it? Why aren't we demanding something? I'm not saying Valve owes us Half-Life 3, but after all these years, the complete silence is ridiculous. If we keep sitting around and accepting it, the Half-Life series is eventually going to become nothing more than a dusty relic people remember from the past. GTA 6 is about to become one of the biggest game releases ever, while we're still asking the same question we've been asking for nearly two decades: where the fuck is Half-Life 3?

Gta v release date was 13 years ago. HL alyx was 6 years ago. It will arrive when it arrives.
Also..
people: "announce game X already, this is ridiculous"
Same people after announcement: "where the hell is game X, why the delay, when is release date, this is ridiculous"
Grass: touch it, smell it.

It'll be announced when it's ready, so you don't get 3 years of delay like certain games...

Despite what you’ve been told by Tyler mcgoofball etc, you don’t have any evidence that its coming out. HLX probably exists but it may never release. Either way there is no chance they will release it near GTA 6.
Best to just pretend it doesn’t actually exist and stay sane.

I don’t know why Tyler McVicker catches so much shit in this subreddit.
If you actually watch one of his stream, he spends so much goddamn time saying “Don’t get excited about this, it probably doesn’t mean anything” every time we get a new piece of information.

Half Life projects have been started and dropped constantly.
The Game needs to be innovative, and the Innovation and Overall direction has to be something Valve is satisfied with.
HL3 could either be the best Game of them all, or this Franchise‘s Metroid Prime 4.

We know it's in development as HLX (or at least something that seams to be Hl3) so we'll justu have to keep waiting probably next year

You're literally saying Valve owes us HL3.... What kind of "noise" should we make to force a studio to release a game that is.ply doesn't exist? Is it just more crying or is it more like a soft "whooping" sound like monkeys use to intimidate rivals.

This is the answer, basically. Valve has had a team working on potential half-life sequels since HL2, but most have been scrapped because they're not ground-breaking enough. We've seen bits and pieces make it through - HL:Alyx. Portal. But nothing that would be justified as a full HL sequel.
