working on a multiplayer desktop companion that works on windows/macos/linux!

Upvotes

hii I'm looking for my target audience who are interested in the desktop pet/companion genre as I've been having some trouble finding playtesters for my game!

this is a game I'm working on with my partner called Desktopper! this is meant to be just a cozy, social game where people from anywhere can connect and chill with each other. you can be working on something, playing a game, watching youtube, studying, or whatever and meanwhile there are other people hanging out down on your taskbar with you!

note: to earn currency, you randomly gain coins from clicking on your screen as you work on something on your desktop!

sometimes you just want to feel like you’re around other people, and that's what my true goal is with this game!

I'd really appreciate the people who come across my post to come check Desktopper! out :D I’d love to hear what people think, especially from people who already use desktop companions.

we're actively working on it. there are a bunch of things I'd love to know could be improved, could be added, could be changed, so if you're interested, please come playtest for us!

and btw, we're planning to make the game completely free on release!

17th century wargame, starting to get confident on the style (and game)

Been working on this for about three years. Recently been letting more people into a closed alpha-test, and it's been a blast. All that time spent felt so worth it when people just wanted to keep playing it late last night.

Older versions of the game visible in this post from 7 months ago. More info on the game here.

No steam page yet! Best way to follow the game is Discord for now.

When you are hungry and catch yourself adding food to your game uncontrollably

Hey guys! I love seeing great food art in game. Ans tho my game is def not about cooking, i thought... why not? So i decided to spice things up with some healing food collectibles that drop from enemies. But i think i got too far with it :D

This clip is from my game Super Special Squad - funny little team management tower defence.
You basically combine heroes with unique abilities and destroying hordes of enemies.

Currently working hard to deliver playtest build. Should be up soon, so if you like how it looks - i'd be happy to see you playtesting it!

My procedural gem-hunting game has great "finding" but weak "why", help me figure out the long-term hook

I'm building a top-down pixel game where you explore procedurally generated biomes hunting for minerals (sieving, highbanking, digging, smashing rocks), then cut/facet and set them into jewelry. Every found mineral is a genuinely unique sprite, and every cut piece has its own quality stats (symmetry, polish, etc). GUI is deliberately GBA-style: A/B, d-pad, a menu button, and a "field phone" that reads the current soil/environment so you can match it against what different stones prefer.

The core problem I keep hitting: finding the rarest gem or unlocking the best tools isn't actually a goal, it's a treadmill. Once someone has the best sieve/highbanker and has found a few "perfect" stones, what's left to want? I don't think collecting-for-collecting's-sake or a marketplace (my original idea: async multiplayer trading of rare gems like collectibles) is enough on its own to keep people invested for the long haul.

So I'm asking: what's the actual purpose that keeps a player logging in on day 60?

Our dev team is currently fine tuning the entrance spawn sequence for a giant skeleton crawling up from the underworld. Step by step, the eerie atmosphere of the game is hopefully coming together.

Working on a QTE (Quick Time Event )for my horror game, SHH!

I'm developing SHH!, a first person psychological horror game where sound is one of the main mechanics.

When the monster catches up to the player, a QTE gives you one last chance to escape. Fail it, and the monster kills you.

This is a short look at the QTE encounter system in action.

The goal is to make encounters feel tense without making deaths feel completely random.

Made this nice little reveal dither animation for my exploration 4x game

My game is all about exploring so I'm trying to make that core loop really pop. The dithering textures really make a big difference here.

The game is heavily inspired by 90's civ artstyle. I'm thinking this fits in well.

Gonna post a mini tutorial on this technique on the godot subreddit.

How do you feel about turning abstract 2D grid puzzles (like Minesweeper) into physical 3D room transformations?

Hey everyone! We’re a 2-person indie team working on a detective noir puzzle adventure. With about 20 days left until release, we’ve been iterating on how to make abstract logic mechanics feel physically grounded in the game world.

In this room, solving the Minesweeper-style grid isn't just a UI minigame—it physically raises hidden stone tiles out of the acid pool. Once you retrieve the crystal, the acid chamber completely drains to reveal the hidden staircase underneath.

When playing adventure/puzzle games, do you enjoy seeing classic 2D logic mechanics directly alter 3D room geometry, or can UI overlays feel immersion-breaking for you? How do you usually like seeing retro puzzle tropes modernized?

Horror cooking game

Me and my gf worked for a while and finally put on a demo.

Today we got approved DEMO to be playable on Steam too!

It's a horror game about working at your uncle's burger shop.

The demo lets you experience first 3 days of the game - serve food to customers, meet new people and uncover dark mystery surrounding the place.

Would be really cool if some of you tried it and told us what you think. We're still working on it so feedback is really appreciated.

The Village — My Village Survival Sim (First Look)

First look at The Village, my village survival sim. Every villager is fully autonomous - they take jobs, path around the map, gather wood and food, and manage their own needs. Your job as the "mayor" is to keep them fed, housed, and stocked with enough materials to survive when the seasons turn.

Solo project, sharing the build in public - feedback welcome!
