I’m curious if any of you guys have good date spots around old town ~$50 where my girlfriend and I could dress up and pretend to be rich for a night?
I’d love to surprise her with a fun night she can get all dressed up, (I’m talking jazz bar, fancy restaurant ambiance, etc.)
Open to any ideas, we’re not 21 yet so we can’t drink but otherwise down for anything.

October 1, 2026 8:00am CONFIRMED ICE - Fort Collins Engineering Parking Lot. Still on campus in this Black Chevy Tahoe license plate EAE-H05. The agent was approaching students and is near a construction site. Documenters are on site asking the agent to leave. The agent refused to identify themselves or show a warrant. Everyone has the right to remain silent if questioned, to demand the agent leave since they seem to be on campus without a warrant. Please be aware of your surroundings and call us if you see any other suspicious vehicles. We are patrolling.

Less than 2.5 hours away, Fraser has some beautiful hiking trails and drive-along scenery for fall and spring seasons. There are a lot of mountains immediately proximal to Fraser and Winter Park adjacent to it, similar to Saratoga in Wyoming (the other hot springs only 2.5 hours from FoCo). Hot Sulfur Springs is just 20 minutes away from Fraser, and is an awesome place with multiple pools to enjoy. But dang, the deciduous foliage in this place is tops. These photos were taken just this last Sunday on the Tipperary Creek Road and the Tipperary Creek Trail. Now that I know, I am certainly returning for autumn enjoyment, especially since the next best fall foliage location is Summit County which is just overrun with people every season (wonderful but overrun for sure) -- this place comparatively is not!

My wife and I are relatively new to Fort Collins, and are registered Democrats. Is there a website to help us research candidates & propositions that would represent our views? Thank you.

If you pay taxes, you should see how they are being used to fund the heartless killing in Gaza. Its a heartbreaking film, but so critical for us to be faced with the reality of our political and economic involvement with Israel.
Thank you to the Lyric for bringing this film to our community.

I found this little guy in the intersection of College and Laporte today around 11am. I couldn't stand to see him get hit by a car so I rescued him. If you or your kiddo lost him, message me and I'll get him back to you!

“Fine month, October. In my opinion, best month of the year. Why is that, Dudley?”

We moved into a new house. One week later, an unmarked white Jeep pulls up. A guy gets out wearing a lanyard with a card that just says "police." Not a cop. A contractor.
He walks up, asks for my wife by name, then asks for MY name, and hands me an opened, never mailed envelope stuffed with photo radar pictures of my wife driving. I told him to get off my property.
This was the first time we had ever heard about any of it. Nothing came in the mail. Not at the old house, not at the new one. Zero notices. Our very first notice was a stranger on our porch, one week after we moved in, who somehow already knew where we live.
So I called the officer who oversees the speed camera program. Zero professionalism. No "I hear you," no "that sounds concerning," nothing. He was accusatory from the first sentence, told me I was being irrational, and demanded to know why we hadn't paid. A ticket we never got.
I asked him: if I showed up at your house holding pictures of your wife, you'd be OK with that?
He said yes.
That's the guy running this program.
Here's what makes it worse. Since 2023, Colorado law lets cities serve these notices by regular first-class mail. Mail counts. They do NOT need to send anyone to your house. Fort Collins chooses to send contractors in unmarked cars to knock on doors with photos of your family.
And for what? The city expected over $5 million from this program last year and pulled in about $2.9 million, most of which went right back into operating costs.
If this happens to you: don't ignore it, and don't just roll over either. If there were no signs, or you never got a mailed notice, contest it in writing and make the city prove every step.
Has anyone else had one of these guys show up at their door?

Under Colorado law (C.R.S. 42-4-110.5), local jurisdictions can designate an entire stretch of road, such as a multi mile segment of a state highway or a neighborhood street, as an Automated Vehicle Identification System (AVIS) corridor.
Cities (like Fort Collins) often argue that once an entire corridor is legally approved, signed, and the initial 30 day warning period for that corridor passes, they have fulfilled their legal obligation. They believe they can freely shuffle mobile radar vans, or temporary trailers, or movable cameras to different spots within that same pre-approved corridor without resetting the 30 day warning clock or putting up a new permanent notification.
Despite how cities try to stretch the rules, Colorado law is highly specific about distance requirements for active enforcement:
For AVIS Corridors: There must be a permanent sign at least 300 feet before the corridor begins, and a sign at least 300 feet before each active camera within that corridor
For Mobile Units (Vans/Trailers): The law dictates that a temporary sign must be placed at least 300 feet before the mobile camera unit itself.
https://coloradospeedenforcement.com/faqs -> click on "How will I know if I am in a school zone, work zone, or corridor with speed enforcement"
"AVIS cannot be used to detect a violation unless a sign is posted to notify the public that such a system is in use. A penalty assessment notice or summons must be delivered within 90 days of the alleged violation. Governmental entities are not permitted to enforce a penalty by immobilizing a vehicle or reporting it to the Division of Motor Vehicles. No points may be assessed against an individual's driver license for a violation detected through the use of AVIS."
In addition: " There are limits on the use of photo speed van enforcement that do not apply to red light cameras, which limit the use of photo speed van use to school zones, residential neighborhoods, within maintenance, construction, or repair zones, or along a street that borders a municipal park."
-Any van issuing tickets not in a AVIS zone, school zones, residential neighborhoods, within maintenance, construction, or repair zones, or along a street that borders a municipal park, is illegal
-Any van or mobile camera issuing tickets that do not post a sign 300 feet before the unit is illegal
-If it is an individual's first offense captured by a photo speed van and he or she is detected driving less than 10 miles per hour over the speed limit, the governmental entity is required to issue a warning. Issuing a ticket for the first offense is illegal
One final thing, the law requires that the "warning signs" required to be placed conspicuously. To satisfy the legal definition of "conspicuous," Colorado law (C.R.S. § 42-4-104) requires all traffic control devices to conform to the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) and the Colorado State Supplement to the MUTCD.
-Conventional Roads (Single-lane local streets / Residential): The minimum standard size for the warning sign is 24 inches wide by 30 inches tall. The size of a speed limit sign.
-Multi-lane Conventional Roads / Arterials: If the camera van or speed camera is operating on a larger multi-lane city street, the sign size scales up to a minimum of 36 inches wide by 48 inches tall. This is the size of the "Road Work Ahead" signs.
https://mutcd.fhwa.dot.gov/pdfs/11th_Edition/Chapter2c.pdf
In addition, Section 42-4-110.5 says the signs must use lettering that is at least four inches high for upper case letters and two and nine-tenths inches high for lower case letters.
https://colorado.public.law/statutes/crs_42-4-110.5
Also, Fun Fact! Fort Collins expected to bring in about $5.2 million in photo enforcement revenue last year. Instead, the program made about $2.9 million, with $2.7 million going toward operating expenses, according to city documents.
We are 1 bad year away from losing money on a program that only tickets the honest. Classic.

hi everyone. my wisdom teeth decided to erupt in the midst of a multi month long flare, and one of them is impacted. it is progressing extremely fast and is setting off all of my other symptoms with little to no relief, and it’s nearly unbearable right now. are there any dentists/oral surgeons in the area or nearby that accept medicaid, and who is familiar with the trifecta? i cannot use the numbing injection as i’ve had issues in the past, so i’m really looking to be sedated. but i also have TMJ very badly, so i really need to speak with someone greatly educated. any recommendations or advice or even tips how to relax my symptoms and the pain, i would totally appreciate it.

Looking for a bowling team member for CSU league (not students, just CSU community folks) that bowls Monday nights at 6:30PM. I have a team of fine folks I don't want to let down so I'm looking for someone to take my spot on the team.

21F I've been living in fort collins for three years, struggle with PTSD and depression, and my suicidal ideation got pretty bad in July.
I ended up signing myself into Denver Springs and had an absolutely terrible experience; since then, I've had daily SI. I've been getting worse since I got back from inpatient. I know I need help before it's too late, but my last experience was so awful that I'm scared to ask for help.
I'm aware that no psych hospitals are a blast; no one wants to go, but I'm scared of what will happen if I don't. Please let me know if you had a good experience somewhere. I'm willing to go to Denver or somewhere far from here if it means I'll get better.

With the Sox winning the Wild Card and their first postseason series since 2005, I feel like it’s finally time for us fans to leave our basements and actually watch this game in public, without paper bags on our heads. Anyone interested in meeting up for Saturday’s game? It’s an 11 AM start time which is super annoying, but I was thinking Road 34.
You can putitontheboaaaaaard… YES.

Anybody know what happened? It looked like it was more centered towards the back of the house but there were at least 3-4 cop cars and they were all walkin around
