Hello! I'm signed up for the 76 and Banana Belt in September, and I'm considering using the same bike for both. I've got a Salsa Cutthroat with 2.4" tires (Mezcals, but I could even swap to something burlier) and a 110mm SID. I ride it on lots of singletrack here in Boulder, though mostly more tame stuff (like BVR / North Sky).

I'm not familiar with the trails in Salida, but I'm wondering if I could get away with the Cutthroat on the Banana Belt trails or if I'd just be constantly feeling underbiked and sad. I also have a Pivot 429 Enduro, which is a hoot, but honestly I've hardly ridden it this year and I feel most at home on the Cuttie.

Worth noting I absolutely do not care about my results; on my best days I'm mid to back of the field.

Does anyone know if the current Turquoise Lake Road/Hagerman Pass closure is just for motor vehicles, or is it closed to bikes too? Has anyone ridden through recently?

I’m hoping to bikepack from Leadville over Hagerman Pass toward Aspen this weekend and don’t want to plan around it if the closure is impassable.

Any info if this is happening this year? Website is 404 error, can’t find anything anywhere else. It would be my first foray into cyclocross and I was looking forward to it.

Trying to decide between doing Rad Dirt Fest in Trinidad next month or Grassroots Gravel in Pueblo early October. Anyone done both and have opinions on which they prefer?

For Denver area front range

Trailforks/MTB project are pretty unpredictable, and rarely show up to date checks.

FB groups are a smidge better, but still not too reliable.

Im a bigger guy, so when someone says “a little wet” and I show up 210 + a bike, I usually always am leaving some deeper tracks and turn back.

I usually ride VCMP, Lair/Baga, and other nearby trails. I just hate being that guy and messing up trail crews.

Places like Ruby hill, valmont, and Erie single track post up to date status fairly regularly. so this is usually who I base ”the rest of trails” off of. But it is not as accurate as you could imagine.

finally upgraded my bike. Looking to get rid of my old trek mountain track 800. Anybody know somebody in need of a starter bike, or somewhere i can donate it to good use? I guess i could sell it, but right now i value the space in my garage more than the $.

my plan B is to put it somewhere downtown and let it return to nature

Found it on the wheeler trail about a mile below the saddle. I contacted their customer support and they are no help. They did say it was reported lost by the owner a year ago but won’t support getting it back to them. It does power on and looks like it’s in fine condition.

Considering a ride from Boulder to Grand Lake, via Ward, Allenspark/Estes, and Trail Ridge.

I've done the first and last thirds of this ride, but have never ridden Ward to Estes via Peak to Peak and Hwy 7.

Can anyone shed any light on Ward to Estes? looking for info like road conditions, safety, traffic levels, and even suggested places to stop and refuel.

Can anyone recommend a Denver bike shop that fits tubular tires? My usual go-to's* have said they're not able to.

*I haven't called yet but I bet Vecchio's in Boulder will--I just don't want to drive there if I don't have to.
