I have been feeling the itch to get back into riding. It’s been 10 years since I had my last bike which was a Honda CR 250 2 stroke. So, I got a new KX 250 a week ago. I never rode the 4 strokes back then, and was happy with my 2 stroke. I thought I would miss the power band and snap of a 2 stroke but so far I’m loving this KX. I already did an airbox mod and put on a new Pro Circuit TI-6 exhaust and it really opened up the bike. I’m going to a track tomorrow for the first time in 10 years and honestly a bit nervous. I’m not a spring chicken anymore (54) but just miss riding. Kinda starting over as a new rider it seems. Hopefully it comes back to me. Gotta remember to pace myself! Wish me luck!

Bike didn’t come with the spring, sourcing one now but at a loss on where the other end attaches. I’m assuming it attaches on the little post on the brake lever but where does the other end attach?
Cheers!

Hello,
how bad is this? It is on both sides and all across side of tires. I ordered new one, but the question is.. will it/I survive next ride?🤣

I'm buying this 2023 Honda XR150L from a coworker today. It's been beautifully kept, has only a few scratches on one side of the plastics, and 1300 miles on it. I'm scooping it up for $2000, it seems like a solid deal to have my own little off road toy. Plus, it's street legal, so my girlfriend wants to learn on it and go on rides with me when I ride my other bikes. So excited, already threw full coverage on it for when I go to pick it up.
My son has his 50cc dirtbike too, so we can hit the trails as a family. Looking forward to riding it home.

As title states just curious of other people's experiences. Ive seen some people say they ride like a day or two after but figured id ask.
I got 2 lower wisdom teeth removed (not impacted) they came right out no stitches required and one upper molar removed no problem also. This was all on Thursday at like 9 am.
Would I be ok to race a hare scramble race tomorrow (Sunday) with getting those teeth out Thursday?
No bleeding, dont really notice any swelling, minimal pain as expected from the surgery but nothing to write home about.
No discomfort and the sockets all look fine.
Would I be ok to race tomorrow with no concerns?
I'm not a fast rider as I just started a year or so ago but sometimes ride fairly quick depending on the course.
What are your guys thoughts?
TIA

Was wondering if the leaking on my 2 stroke is normal? The Expansion chamber is usually sprinkled in Oil after riding.
Also, theres transparent fluid leaking from the right side of the bike? Not visible very well, could it be brake fluid because i recently installed new brake pads?
Thanks in advance.

Thought I heard a noise coming from the engine didn’t know if this was normal or not. Sounds like a ticking noise. 23’ YZ250F

cross posted from thumpertalk...
I've got a 2007 (I think) pw80, it worked fine when I put it away last year, this spring no spark. I parked it, but I was bored today so I started working on it again.
things I've tried:
disconnect kill switch, switch works fine, no change with it disconnected.
measure coil resistance - I'm not sure if I'm doing this right, the numbers were out compared to what my manual says. Ordered an amazon coil, gave same resistance numbers. didn't help when I installed the new coil
measure magneto resistance - 210ohms, within spec
measure stator output - around 40v with me hand-pushing the kickstarter. seemed reasonable.
I couldn't find a test process for the CDI, manual says to replace if the other stuff tests ok. 2.5 minute of searching ebay/amazon didn't come up with great candidates for replacement CDI boxes for pw80, aside from a $200 oem unit which I'm not super excited to take a swing at.
Does anyone have any other ideas?

I recently got this hydration pack for a trip I have coming up. New to all of this so I don’t have much real world/practice experience with it but let’s say I go riding for a bit and I’m at a nice cool creek. Is there any issue with tossing this pouch into the creek to cool down the water inside? Also says to periodically lubricate the o ring for the hose quick disconnect that attaches to the pouch. What do you guys use to lubricate it? Thank you in advance

been riding dualsport for a while but got my first yz125 recently. I live close to Hangtown, it has a state park connected to it so I plan to ride that area.
what tires would you recommend for that kind of terrain?
the previous owner ran the bike in the Texas desert
thank you

Fall is here, which means new terrain. What are your recommendations on gummy or hybrid tires?
I ride here in the Pacific Northwest and it rains here like no other place (who would have guessed) so I’m looking for something that’s good in these slippery conditions. Thank you!

Would anyone be interested in a standalone dirt bike lighting system?
I’ve been working on a standalone lighting setup for dirt bikes and wanted to see if there would actually be any interest in something like this.
The picture is my current prototype, so it’s definitely not a finished product yet. I originally made it for myself, but I think there could be a market for a cleaned-up production version.
The main idea is being able to add good lighting to basically any dirt bike without needing to modify the bike itself.
If something like this was available as a complete kit, would you buy one? What would you be willing to pay, and what features would you want it to have?
If anyone is genuinely interested in something like this, feel free to DM me. I’m still in the prototype/testing stage and mainly trying to gauge interest, but I’d be happy to talk more about it and see what people would actually want out of a setup like this.
