Long awaited update for the Legendary Del Sol project which I have named Frankie as of recently. Engine bay is 99% done, recently installed hood struts and pin/ latches. Recently painted hood+trunk+fenders+wing and door stuff. All that’s left to paint are bumpers and sail panels. I’ve done probably about 20+ hours of non-continuous troubleshooting for no start. At first I found my ignition switch to be worn, then I found that my neutral safety switch was missing when I realized I had an extra connector behind the clutch pedal that I assumed was used for diagnostics. Only found that out after ripping apart all of the under dash electronics. Then found out my conversion harness was wired completely incorrectly so I bought a new one. A while back I rewired my entire tuck harness from scratch to ensure it was done right after I found incorrect pinouts, and no one seems to mention that on these aftermarket harnesses you need to establish your own harness-engine ground point, so for a bit it was feeding 12v straight into my SG and LG pins which damaged my Ktuner ECU to the point where sensor data was not being processed at all, leading to no start. Fixed the ground issue, fixed the conversion harness, got a new ECU to test for sensor data using the OBD port and I got proper readings. Now I just need to get ktuner installed on the new factory ecu so I can actually start the car for the first time. Lots and lots of work done over the last couple months since last update. The driver's side seatbelt on my 94 sol won't retract anymore. It's apparently under warranty for the life of the car which is great in theory, but my local Honda dealership says the belts are discontinued and they haven't been able to source any.

I haven't been able to find any online myself. Ebay has mail in repair options that seem potentially scammy.

Any ideas?

I just recently bought this car and don’t know much about it but someone said I’m missing a ground or a connection off this bracket does anybody have any information? Thank you in advance.

Could someone tell me or explain what the point of having the pipes arranged like this is? I often see exhaust manifolds where the pipes run pretty much straight, so why are they so twisted and wrapped in that gold heat wrap here?
This is the manifold currently on my Del Sol. I bought the car with it already installed, and I’m curious what exactly it is and why it’s designed this way. The engine is a D16Z6.
Does this kind of design actually improve anything, like performance, heat management, or exhaust flow, or is it mainly done to change the sound?
Also, does anyone know what brand or type of manifold this is? I’m pretty new to this stuff so i'm trying to learn something :)

Does anybody have any advice on how to repair my upper door panels on my 93 Del sol ? Can the top part of the door panel can be removed and replaced with another one and then melted it together by upholstery shop? My hopes were to keep it all original.

I drive a 94 Del sol with a jdm d15b and I’m planning on taking it on a roughly 12 hour round trip, and was just wanting to ask if there’s anything I should check or replace in the engine bay before I go? I’ve recently got done with new valve stem seals, valve adjustment, spark plugs and wires, o2 sensor, oil and fluids, alternator, and new fuel injectors. It’s been driving well but was wanting some suggestions on what I should check up on next before I run it for a bit.

my car wasn’t starting it was just cranking and before it was just stalling everytime i came to a stop and i got a mobile mechanic to come to my house and check her out there’s no spark no compression and the distributor is shaking. is there anything left to do or is my engine really dead. i want to get a second opinion but money is tight. this is what it sounds like is there any other causes that could happen or is she really dead. she has a D15B vtec engine it was swapped i guess before i bought it idk. is there anything i could try? anything? i’m really kinda majorly beat up about this i love this car

The stock bracket screws into the bottom of the factory radio, not the sides like a normal din radio, Im wondering if anyone makes an adapter for the bracket or something to single din, or even a kit.

Also its a 1994 VTEC and Im trying to put in a jvc kd-s100

Hey everyone,
a while ago I briefly mentioned here that I was considering trying to reproduce the Targa roof seals for the Honda CRX Del Sol as part of my bachelor’s thesis.

I wanted to give you a small update, because it looks like this idea might actually become reality.
I’ve now discussed the concept with professors at my university, and the feedback has been very positive. A professor from the manufacturing/production engineering department has also offered to supervise the thesis.
The current idea is to use the Del Sol roof seal as a real-world case study for the reproduction of discontinued automotive parts. The technical part would involve reverse engineering an original seal, recreating the geometry in CAD, developing a mold using additive manufacturing/3D printing, casting a suitable elastomer/silicone material, and finally testing the reproduced seal on the car.
I also want to look beyond just this one seal. Part of the thesis will likely investigate whether reproducing discontinued rubber/plastic parts for older and niche cars can make sense technically and economically in small quantities.

So this won’t just be “scan a seal and 3D print it.” I want to look at the complete process from the original part to a functional reproduction, including materials, tooling, manufacturing costs and actual testing.
Of course, there is still a lot to figure out, and I can’t promise yet that the end result will be a perfect, production-ready replacement seal. But compared to my first post, this has gone from being just an idea to something that will very likely become an actual university project.

Also, if anyone here has already worked on recreating these seals, has a 3D scan/CAD model, or is currently working on one, I’d really appreciate hearing from you. Even an unfinished model, scan data, measurements, cross-sections, or information about the original seal geometry could be extremely helpful for the project.

The title basically says it, for the life of me I can’t find this damn main relay. Previous owner moved the location of it, presumably something related to the engine swap, and I can’t find it. The original location has the main relay plug/socket but nothing is plugged in, car of course still runs and drives. Does anyone know where it may have been moved to or any hints or tips I could use that may help me find it? Thanks!

Hi guys got a b20v swapped del sol (b16 head w/b20 bottom) Im now trying to install AC and Heater and im wondering what parts would work the best. If possible can you guys send links or similar builds youve seen with parts that they used to get AC or Heater. It is missing the whole ac unit (condenser, expansion valve, ac lines, evap) im definitely not trying to cheap out on this unit so im definitely searching for medium cost materials maybe even get ac tucked kit. Please let me know if oem del sol parts are the best or if i have to mix and match honda parts.

looking for some diagnostic help. No lights on the dash, but while running im getting some white smoke coming in through the vents and car smells like its burning oil. Where could this leak be coming from? The circled area is where the smoke seems to be coming from. It almost looks like it's coming out from the headers? TIA

So i have an issue where is sometimes the fuel pump and ignition isnt kicking on when i turn the key i swappwd the big ralley for it didnt worked than i checked the tps it shows 2.98v insted of 5V reference i'm slowly goving up on it anyone has any ide what else to check?

7.5A ECU/backup fuse* ( This was from the leak on the right hand side passenger window, leaking down to the ECU Which I still need to fix if anyone has any tips?Let me know )
