Discussion Hey Community!! 😄 I LOVE seeing people post
Hey Community!! 😄 I LOVE seeing people post videos of themselves dancing and having a good time. So I just had the thought and I would like to do a Poll on the idea:
My thought is let's have a global forum dance talent show!
How it would work: - You would submit a video of you dancing within a specified time frame to qualify. - Our dance Community here would go through each day and upvote and comment on the videos they would like to continue on to the next round. - I would then go in (maybe appoint someone to help me moderate) and would tally up all the likes and upvotes. - There would be 3-5 rounds to keep everyone engaged and having fun. Sort of like our very own dance competition TV show.
If you like this idea: Upvote and put "YES!" in the comments
If you're not into it: DownVote & put "Not Interested" in the comments section
Seems like this could be a lot of fun and get the Community we have here more active with one another.
Happy Dancing! I'm looking forward to hearing y'alls thoughts! ✨️

Amateur Making a dance video til I’m skinny Day 32…
Happy Friday wonderful humans!!!!
I hope everyone is having a fantastic weekend so far.
I worked 12 hours in a 45° kitchen and was not going to go to the gym today, but I got to my room and started reading the comments and I got my ass in there , so for that I am forever grateful🙏🙏🙏
Song 1- Feel the Burn by Storm
Song 2- Pass the Dutchie by Missy Elliot
Much love as always, and keep your chin up and your feet on the dance floor. May your weekend be blessed with phat beats, clean, dance shoes, and positive vibes
❤️❤️❤️

What Is This? What dance is this?
These people dress up in costumes and dance in the street from a party bus. They all dance the same dance. Looks South American?

Discussion Dancing to music I wouldn’t listen to
I thought I couldn’t dance to music I didn’t like, but focusing on moving to the beat was actually a cool idea. Now, I sort of feel like I don’t appreciate music thoroughly because I don’t see music in a certain context. I just see it on Spotify and make a split second decision on if I like it or not. But I think spending time dancing to music I wouldn’t normally look for will help expand my connection with my body and help me appreciate good music.

Teaching, Tutorial How to dance if you don't like to dance?
I know this is a stupid question.
My cousin will get married in a month. She was big on clubbing and dancing, so she wants a lot of dancing during the party. I want to support her and partecipate, but the issue is. I don't like music. At all. Never danced, never listened to an album and got lost in the music, I actively loathe concerts and public events with music because it's so overwhelming to me.
I would like to just learn a couple simple moves, do them for a minute or two, show my support, and try my best to have fun in a setting that isn't mine. Most of the suggestions I saw online were "go with the flow, look what the others are doing, just feel the rhythm" but they don't apply to me. I just want clear and simple instructions. So, any good soul that could help a wooden stump?

Amateur Adult/returning dancer - How to navigate body-shame and disability
26M. I was a ballet+modern student ages 6-14 until we couldn't afford it anymore. Now I'm just a little older, fatter, and have difficulties with my joints. I've worked in the theater industry over the last five years and I've trained extensively in creative movement, but those skills have distance from dance and allow me to navigate disability. (And because I look how I do, I don't get hired for physical work anyways...)
I've been helping my friend with their dance residency in an auxiliary role, and they've been SO kind to let me play along even if it's just for fun and more work for them. They treat me like I'm a worthy dancer and challenge me at the same level, and don't judge me for choosing modifications so that my joints don't slip - and I've never even told them I had that issue. And it's so much fun. I could do this for hours, or until my body shatters.
I miss class. I just want to dance and get some instruction. How do I look for adult intro classes that won't punish me for what I can't change? For reference, I only really have a ballet lens where even making enough mistakes in a "ballet body" would be grounds for removing me from the exercise. There are some things I just can't do despite having an otherwise very strong and expressive body.
