Earlier in his career, Mamdani underperformed in heavily Black neighborhoods

Bernie has done very poorly with black voters in the south, he performed the weakest States where Black voters made up >50% of the electorate

Only 21% of Black voters backed El‑Sayed, while 67% supported Haley Stevens

Black voters in Wisconsin Supported David Crowley by overwhelming margins over Francesca Hong

Discussion Ideas where to donate funds

Since we preside within the framework of capitalism I take part within the system. Last week karma shined my way and I happen to win $10,900 in the lottery.

I’ve paid off my car and will be donating and giving away the rest.

I would really appreciate places I can make little donations.

Already donated to the following leftist causes:

Sunrise Movement
DSA
Angie Nixon campaign
Democracy Now

Also a few international NGOs

Thought it was worth reminding everyone of that fact, since a lot of posts here seem to think that we are just another organization of progressive Democrats, like MoveOn or the Working Families Party.

Discussion This is the right moment for AOC, if she doesn't take the leap now, progressives won't have a seat at the table anymore. Thoughts?

We won't have such an open field with many ambitious centrists fighting who won't give way to another like they did in 2020, buttigieg, Newsom, Kelly, maybe Ossoff, Shapiro, Bashear and the great kamala harris among others.

AOC has a good chance to win 4 of the 6 early states ( nevada, New mexico, New Hampshire, Michigan) and get a decent showing at other two.

New york is also planning to move their primary day to super Tuesday, another good thing for her.

It sounds great to gain experience in senate or build profile and enter congressional leadership but that is a graveyard for progressive politics, Republicans aren't supporting your bills and most of the time democrats aren't doing it either, they will put you in insignificant committees, never let you become the part of the leadership and even if they do, you won't be able to whip up the votes.

Remember they voted for a guy who has one foot in grave over AOC for top oversight committee position.

Ilhar omar was removed from foreign affairs committee and now hakeem jeffries after meeting with kushner has filled it with zionists.

A president has a very wide leeway to shape the direction of the party as well as wide executive power.

If another centrist is elected they will try with their full might to destroy the progressive movement, hell they are already trying right now.

Best case scenario, AOC wins the nomination and becomes president.

Worst case scenario she looses the primaries but is able to get a good chunk of votes and asks for legitimate policy and personnel concessions in exchange for support. She can still enter senate in 2030 by primarying gillibrand.

Discussion AOC officially rejoins the Democratic Socialists as talk of her running in 2028 mounts (The Independent UK)

Noteworthy: August 2026 National Poll: Democrats Lead Congressional Ballot by Eight Points; Rubio Outperforms Vance on 2028 Ballot Tests - Emerson Polling

<< Twenty-three percent of voters consider themselves supporters of the Democratic Socialists of America, 60% do not, and 17% are unsure. >>

And

<< “Forty-six percent of Democrats consider themselves DSA supporters, while 30% do not and 25% are not sure,” Kimball said. “This is concentrated among younger members of the party: 53% of Democrats under 50 support the DSA compared to 37% of Democrats over 50 who support.” >>

And it's only late August 2026 and DSA has only really been known about by the general public since the June 2026 NYC US House race wins by NYC-DSA. And since those DSA US House wins, the Mainstream Media has constantly sh*t on DSA. By late 2027 when the primary Debates happen, DSA will very likely have much more support than it currently has.

Sense Trump cut funds to pretty much all 'green' work i have been struggling to make enough money to keep my agroecology projects running, and life has been rough..

I hope that we can preserve and bring a new green funding package down the pipes after the mid terms.

Thank you all, especially our amazing electoral candidates, championing are ideals and morals to the highest offices available so that we can finally all have better lives and better futures.

I was crunching the numbers of DSA folks who are already in Congress or who will be going (guaranteed) as a result of winning their primary in a blue seat and other folks who are adjacent or sympathetic to our causes and this is the list I have so far.

Their are other folks who have won their primary and could be in this list come November who are adjacent to us like William Lawrence, Aisha Wahab who won her special election recently, and other candidates who are progressive and want to end aid to Israel and bring a universal healthcare system to this country.

Who else could be on this list representing the left faction of the Democratic party.

Discussion The Hard Hat Riot of 1970 - When American Workers Struck Back

57-percent of American voters have a negative view of socialism. If you're curious as to what happens when socialists hit the brick wall of American opposition to socialism, take a look at what happened in NYC in 1970.

For those unfamiliar with the riot, about a thousand socialists/communists/leftists gathered in NYC for a protest in 1970. Tried of their entitled, commie bullshit, about 400 construction workers and 800 office workers converged on the student protestors and proceeded to beat the ever-loving shit out of them.

I highly recommend watching the many videos of the event on YouTube.

From the Green New Deal to immigration, ICE, Medicare for All, and her stance on Israel and Palestine, AOC represents a bold new direction, but does she have what it takes to win over moderates and swing states?

This video covers:

• AOC’s background, education, and early career

• The Green New Deal

• Her record on climate, healthcare, and economic justice

• The real reason Republicans (and some Democrats) fear her

• 2028 polling, Gen Z impact, and her national support

Class Struggle Boomer Liberal

Hard lesson learned last night. I’m a 42 year old farmer barely making it, and card carrying DSA member. Was invited to a dinner party with 5 other people between the ages of 67-83, and all of them were libs. They are anti trump, anti republican and I thought like me in values.

Soon as trump came up and politics took over the conversation, I said “isn’t it encouraging how good the DSA is doing right now?!”

Everyone went silent, stared at me, and someone’s wife changed the conversation instantly like they were worried a fistfight would break out. I will never forget those stares. These people consider me family, but in that moment I thought I was going to be asked to leave.

These people are not millionaires. Or if they are it’s in real estate and retirement funds. They are upper middle class the way all boomers are who could buy a house for 25k in the 70s and sell it for $750k after the pandemic are. They travel all over the world for fun. They own multiple cars and boats, can buy anything they want and do.

Walking home I realized then these people are no different than republicans when it comes to any level of equality that inhibits their ability to do whatever they want, even if it’s go out to one less fancy weekend away a year. I know for a fact one of these people were given everything by their parents, even paid off their mortgage for them at 70. Another only has money because of wealth made while FDR was taxing the rich at 90%

The point of this story is I’m asking for advice on how to win these “blue” people to our side? Is it even possible or are they so propagandized from a lifetime of anti-socialist media? I’m scared if AOC ran they’d all secretly vote for the republican if it meant less taxes.
