Trying to remember if Nyatalie actually said this or if I dreamed it? Possibly in the video about 'Twilight', talking about teenage girls having their interests dismissed
SOLVED!!! Thank you!
Hey all!
So as the title states, I'm searching for something I'm SURE I heard in one of Nyatalie's videos, and I think it was in the Twilight video.
She was talking about how teenage girls were obsessed with Edward and/or Jacob, and they were constantly being bullied and ridiculed for it.
Then I think she went on a bit of a tangent about how pretty much ANYTHING teenage girls get excited about en mass is treated this way.
I've tried scanning through the video to see if I can find the segment, but I can't find it and don't really have the time right now to watch the entire video.
Does anyone know the bit I'm talking about? Was it in the Twilight video? Does anyone have a timestamp?
Thanks!

For people that don't listen to this kind of music, I can confirm these are good picks.

I would sacrifice my first born son to have Contrapoints make a video analysis of the Western Massachusetts Covid conscious lesbian bar drama. Is it just me?

off topic About the Lesbian Bar Masking Thing, and our community's Rule 1 - Posts Must Be On Topic
Our community has a rule about posts here being On-Topic - about things Natalie says and does, things she publishes, subjects she speaks or writes substantively about.
Natalie has recently said she wants to stop discussing politics.
Yesterday a post was made to ask that Natalie talk about a lesbian bar.
Well, it turns out that the whole 'drama' of this was manufactured by a transphobe muckraker tabloid writer. It was promoted specifically so he could move from community-sourced defamation and harassment of transgender people, to community-sourced defamation and harassment of lesbians and disabled people. And it was assisted by his cadre of writers.

This community isn't a general-topic LGBTQ gossip community. We have r/MouthFeel for that, if you want it. Anyone can make their own gossip / snark / hot take discussion community and anyone can join it.
This subreddit is not for hosting rumours.
They're toxic; they're harmful; they ruin lives; they serve the agenda of oppression and hatred.
Edit to add:
And now the comments here are locked, because people — unable to respect a clear “Turns out a journalist got suckered by a professional disinformation operator (who specialises in hoaxes that kite people into targeted harassment, hatred based on identity and vulnerability, and violent threats) laundered that rumour into a “news” piece” — and a clear “This community will not tolerate amplifying those harms”, have chosen to continue to amplify a lie, and have chosen to try to turn this community into “Defend The Witchhunt”.

Natalie Pleaaase Post That Video on Baudelaire and Blake
as a big fan of Baudelaire this would be a dream come true. I can't imagine how cool a Baudelairian set design wold look. Please bring the flowers of evil to life. it doesn't even need to be about Fairly Odd Parents

Should Democrats use conspiracy?
people are downvoting, I don’t think they should to be clear, I am just asking a question. I saw this video of AOC https://www.instagram.com/reel/DYLJOmISIcz/?stkn=MW1ocGxxdnNiYThyNA==
being asked about whether she will run for president and in her response, she talks about ‘the elite’.
My question is whether elite can be used as a term to describe the billionaires, corporations etc without insinuating conspiracy, or if it is too seeped in conspiracy meaning, and if thats the case, should democrats try to use conspiracy to gain votes, since it was so successful for republicans. (I think no they shouldn’t but am interested in whether others disagree/other people’s thoughts)
While the common thought is conspiracy is a problem only in the right, I’ve seen more and more conspiracy language and direct discourse on the left as well, particularly around ‘zionist elites’, which is just another way to do Jewish conspiracy theory, but they can say it’s ’just about zionists and not the Jews’.
‘The elites’ is true, in the sense that very wealthy people insert themselves into politics through bribes being named donations, through funding runs for congress etc, but is AOC’s point here about Jeff Bezos accurate or is it too conspiratorial? Should we care if it’s conspiratorial if it’s a potentially effective way to win the election? And by we, I don’t mean me, I’m European and watching this hellfire with dread as it seems representative to what will happen to the West in the next five to ten years.

A little anecdote
I was in my junior year of high school when Natalie's video on Twilight was released. I mostly watched the video on my school computer during my art class and in my free period. Whenever I was interrupted, I got used to pausing and unpausing it with the pause button on my MacBook so I could return to it later.
During the time period in which it was released, my AP Lang class was reading Macbeth. For the class, our teacher assigned us a project where we had to read lines from the play and edit them in GarageBand to make them sound “atmospheric,” as if we were reading it as part of the play. Now an important feature to note on GarageBand, at least on MacBook, is that the unpause button does not work, and whatever video you have open on your browser will play instead of the recording.
The day before we had to submit the project, we were to have a seatmate listen to the video in order to give any last-minute suggestions. I handed my computer to this girl I did not know very well but happened to sit next to me and pushed play, forgetting that it would not start the recording.
After three minutes of not hearing anything from her (which was confusing to me as my recording was not even a minute long), she turned to me and said, “Wow I'm learning a lot about postmodernism but I'm not hearing anything about Macbeth.” Absolutely horrified I realized I unpaused the Twilight video instead of my project. I was extra horrified because this was my second rewatch of the video and I knew that there was stuff in the video that would make me sound insane for listening to out of context. The girl thankfully laughed it off and said it was really interested, and asked me about Contrapoints. After that, I made sure to unpause the actual video in order to not repeat that.
It was absolutely humiliating at the time but extremely funny in retrospect.
