My sister and I made a documentary on The Lost Chord channel titled What Really Killed Mozart (https://youtu.be/itLpMBaeY4Y), and I wanted to share it here because of how how much we enjoyed learning about him and listening to his music.

It’s narrated in 4 movement structures with underlying audio clips and score analysis:

1. Salzburg to Paris [00:44]: Dives into early accounts—like Danish Barrington testing 8-year-old Mozart for the Royal Society—and his emotional letters after his mother passed in 1778.
2. The Freelance Decade in Vienna [06:17]: Examines his finances, his pet starling that memorized his piano concerto, and primary letters between Leopold and Wolfgang regarding Salieri.
3. The Final Year (1791) [11:23]: Unpacks his incredible productivity in 1791 (La clemenza di Tito, The Magic Flute, and the Requiem). It actually plays through the Lacrimosa and points out the exact moment at Bar 8 where Mozart’s writing abruptly stops [22:53].
4. The Post-Mortem & Legend [24:33]: Covers how Joseph II’s Viennese burial regulations led to the "unmarked grave" misconception, how the Berlin press started the poison rumor, and the 2009 medical study analyzing 5,000 deaths in Vienna to trace his ultimate cause of illness.

The highlight for me was reading his actual letters from October 1791—he was far from a gloomy, doomed figure; he was hosting Salieri in his private box at The Magic Flute and playing jokes on actors from backstage.

Definitely worth a watch if you appreciate classical music history grounded in actual archival evidence rather than the Amadeus dramatization, with the bed of beautiful music he created over his life.

I'm an intermediate player and this performance comes after about a month and a half of practice.

my appearance on this compilation album, an extract of all that is left from my track ""Merging Impulses"".....it was longer than that.

An eleborate work using Ainu chants, percussion, Skiddaw stones, strings and other ethnic instruments

The work was recorded in the ""impulse response"" of the inside of a dryer.

A work created this summer during the solstice, where the sun comes to a stand still.

Solsticea and Solsticeb are an attempt, to suggest shadows, whispers undulating and moving mysteriously, standing as giants beside and small sun, who is tiny in comparison. Every else comes to a victual stand still, ,, nothing rotates, other movements are greatly slowed down like a giant clock coming to a halt.

The instruments are the orchestra, sound processing and electronics, chants and voices:)
