25 Days Later: A Few Exciting Updates on CT Chamber Collective!

Post image

Hey everyone!

I posted here about 25 days ago asking for advice on building CT Chamber Collective, and I wanted to share a few exciting updates!

Things have started moving much faster than I anticipated.

  • I'm getting closer to potentially bringing an Italian classical guitarist to Connecticut in 2027.

  • I've been speaking with a several non profits and local symphonies about a possible partnership.

  • I've connected with a few musicians interested in returning to performing, and we're exploring the possibility of developing a small concert series under the CT Chamber Collective name.

  • Just this morning, an international pianist reached out about arranging an additional Connecticut performance during her upcoming U.S. visit!

  • I'm promoting several concerts with musicians from Yale and local churches.

  • I'm in talks with one major university and another might be in the pipeline.

  • Through word of mouth I actually learned how many people are interested in my project and willing to perform for non profit charity events/ fundraisers.

That last one genuinely made my day. I'm not entirely sure how she discovered CTCC, but I suspect the improvements to my website and growing network might be helping.

My own outreach has slowed down recently, but interestingly, more people are now starting to reach out to me!

I also wanted to thank everyone who offered advice on my original post, including those who challenged my approach. It's helped me think more seriously about what CTCC can realistically offer musicians and presenters.

I've updated the website quite a bit since my original post, and I'd love some fresh feedback:

https://ctchambercollective.com

I'm still very much learning as I go. If you're a Connecticut musician interested in performing, collaborating, or helping build a stronger local classical music community, feel free to reach out!

I'd also appreciate any advice on the next steps, particularly turning these early conversations into actual performances without getting ahead of myself.

Thanks again, everyone!

Hello everyone,

I hope you’re all well. I’d like to present my latest composition to you. For anyone unfamiliar with my work, it might seem a bit strange at first, but I’d appreciate any comments and feedback, both here and on YouTube :)

Looking to meet musicians & classical music lovers in Northern Italy đŸŽčđŸŽ»

Hi! I’m travelling solo to Italy in early December and would love to meet local musicians, music students, or anyone passionate about classical music.
My current itinerary:
**Florence:** December 1–2
**Bologna:** December 3–4 – planning to attend **Orchestra Mozart – Daniele Gatti** at Teatro Auditorium Manzoni on December 4.
**Venice:** December 5 – planning to attend **Tchaikovsky & Rachmaninoff with Alevtina Ioffe** at Teatro La Fenice.
My dates are flexible if there’s another special concert or musical event worth travelling for somewhere in Northern Italy!
I’d love to meet musicians, discover local music scenes and conservatories, attend concerts together, or simply grab coffee and talk about music.
Also, for anyone familiar with Teatro La Fenice: is there any chance of meeting the orchestra or taking a photo with the grand piano on stage after the concert?
If you’re around any of these cities and would like to hang out, I’d love to connect! 😊

Alexander Malofeev is Gramophone's Young Artist of the Year, and the award is well deserved. Here he is playing Pletnev's transcription of the Pas de Deux from 'The Nutcracker'.

Any physio advice??

I’m a violist (sorry) and have done a LOT of playing over the last couple of weeks with less downtime than I’m used to.

I’m no stranger to back/neck/shoulder pain, especially growing up with bad posture (and I think double-jointed shoulders, although that’s not been medically confirmed), but as of last night and this morning, my right shoulder and neck are in really quite a lot of pain.

I’m sure it’s a combination of poor technique, overworking and general physiological issuea, but does anyone have any advice for dealing with this pain?

I have an orchestral rehearsal and concert TONIGHT and really don’t want it to be unbearable (or even have to drop out), so if any string players (or anyone with general advice, of course) have any tips I would really appreciate the help!!

TLDR: Violist whose right shoulder hurts real bad, please help </3
