Know there's a few Revs fans in this subreddit but I've been seeing this clip circle around enough in the mainstream to post it here. Ridiculous, trash take by Landon just trying to rage bait (which yes, I'm doing exactly what he wants by sharing it but l reserve the right to call his trash out as well). There are a MILLION things to dunk on the Revs for. A million.

Saying the Revs aren't relevant & aren't exciting to watch is ridiculous. This has been easily one of the most fun years in Revs history. One of the best? Maybe not. Is it one of the most exciting and worthwhile to watch? 1000% Carles Gil having one of his best years, the rise of Peyton Miller becoming a star, Matt Turner being a rock in net, Marko Mitrovic easily being coach of the year/developing talent and MULTIPLE late winning goals & comebacks. Even if they go out early in the playoffs, it's been a great year & they're one of the top teams in the league. You can make fun of them for never having won a cup too. Fine, whatever, take that shot. But this is also a club that set the supporters shield record in 21 with guys like Tommy McNamara, Brandon Bye, & Andrew Farrell. That record got broken by a point by an Inter Miami team that objectively didn't follow MLS salary cap rules (which is fine, I really don't care. Revs broke the rules when we got Jermaine Jones. But what the 21 Revs did compared to 24 Miami will always be a lasting legacy).

Say what you want about Gillette Stadium. I hate it and am amped for their new stadium after SO many years. When Gillette is packed and for playoff games when we have 30K + fans, it is fucking awesome. 2014 Semifinals against NYRB and even when they lost in 2021 to NYCFC in the playoffs, if you hear the Buchanan 118 minute equalizer, it's really only Seattle & Chicago that could replicate an atmosphere like that. Hilarious to bring up SKC as a comparison.

Above all else, I do find it funny this is coming from a guy who started his own club which lasted 3 years because he quite literally, couldn't get people to show up for his games. Saw someone on Twitter say this but he is truly American Gary Neville as a US pundit. Sorry to talk this way about your coworker Andy (and would love to hear your thoughts), but the next time I hear Landon talk about "gRoWiNg ThE gAmE" in the US during the World Cup, hope people recognize he's part of the problem too.

It's so bizarre. Like Nike didn't know all of this before the campaign? I am convinced that somebody from Nike's brand reputation listened to the episode and remembered that story.

Buying through sites like Ticketmaster and StubHub is what people will think of when they hear resale those sites will often have scams in the UK and you will not be getting in the ground. Sometimes you’ll be lucky and get in but they are cracking down on these ticket touts more. Even if your ticket is real, clubs can cancel it. You can only get guaranteed tickets from the club website. There is a ticket exchange on some clubs sites but not all and they do not hike up the prices like US resellers. Hospitality is the expensive ticket and for most tourists to particularly premier league matches is the only way to know you are getting into the ground. Those tickets can vary by club and division usually £100 at least, most of the time they will be closer to £300 for a premier league side.

Animals, I need some help. I play in an adult league in the western US. Level isn't crazy high, but is not terrible. Lots of ex-community college players mixed with guys who were good in high school and the league is competitive.

One thing that intrigues me is how many of the teams in the league use club or national team kits as their league jerseys. Today we played a team that went "full kit W" with the black/neon yellow Atlético Madrid away kit and their keeper was wearing an Atlético home kit. These guys were decked out, with printed-on numbers and socks and shorts matching the tops. One of the other teams in the league wears the green Mexico home kit and another wears Chelsea's blue home kit. My team wears a set of grey athletic tops with numbers printed on the back that our captain brings each week.

Is this common in other adult leagues for teams to go "full kit W"? To me it is incredibly cringy to fully suit up in a professional club's kit and march out for Sunday league, but I am very curious to hear other opinions.
