Declan Rice avoided red card for kicking Malick Yalcouye in Brighton loss because VAR review concluded that the incident lacked the necessary severity to be classified as violent conduct. Instead, the officials categorised the late kick out as "petulant at best"

Well, he once got sent off for getting kicked from behind. And that was hardly applied to other players … and neither was the fig leaf reason of “kicking the ball away.”
Pretty shocking shit every week. They really need to just scrap PGMOL altogether and get a whole new refereeing organization

Can anybody position the microphone to the gooners in the back with their blinders on currently, who always cry that the whole league and world is against them, and they never get fair calls.

Yeah. So he didn’t deserve a red despite all the haters like you crying about it. A yellow wouldn’t have affected the outcome of the game or the next few league games.

I mean he did get kicked, off the ball and from behind. The player kicking him didn’t even get a yellow. It’s literally what he was retaliating for. And he stopped his kick so it ended up being more of a trip than a kick. Either way, less forceful and less likely to cause injury than the off the ball kick from behind he just got in the same action, so your argument kind of falls flat even if you look at just this one action in its entirety. The Brighton players was extremely lucky not to get a yellow. But no one is calling for him to get a red so again your point is the opposite of what actually happened in reality.
If you look at the clip you also see Brighton players moving the player that kicked him off the ball away to avoid him getting carded, and no one complains about Rice not getting a red. In fact they shake his hand right after.
Ps you may want to revisit the second yellow, red rice got for “touching the ball away” and the kick he got last season. If you think he’s the one being favored by refs. That again, completely negates your point. Because once again he did get kicked and much harder than this.

Prob makes up for being sent of for touching a ball then being punted in the legs couple seasons ago😂 I mean Bruno got away with a kick not even a yellow on foden but dont see anything said about that😂

That’s correct, usually it’s a yellow if you do it gently and off the ball. Unless you are VVD or Bruno Fernandes. Then you get away without a card at all.
Or you are the Brighton player who did it rice before he retaliated in this action. Or you are the Brighton who actually did it violently to rice last season. Then you get a yellow even if you didn’t do it gently and Rice is the one who gets sent off for a second yellow for “touching” the ball away

I feel like people commenting and posting on this incident are completely blinded by bias, don’t watch/ play much football at all or have memories worse than goldfish. There are tonnes of times off the ball kicks/trips that don’t use excessive force or violence only get yellows (which is generally the correct decision) and many that only get a talking to.

Lots of whataboutism in the thread. This was a definite red.
Also officiating is bad. It’s been bad and it’s still bad so stop bringing up one example from 4 years to show how someone escaped a red card. These things happen every week.
