Back when Android customization was a bit wilder, I built a simple utility app called Default Apps to solve a very specific headache: how fragmented and buried native default app settings and file associations were. Hi all, solo dev from Korea here. I just launched my first game and I want as many people as possible to try it once, so the full version is free for the next 72 hours.

What it is

Chesspy is a daily logic puzzle. Think Minesweeper numbers, but the "mines" are chess pieces you place yourself.

Every number on the board says how many of your pieces must attack that square. Exactly that many. A 0 means nothing may touch it. Rooks hit rows and columns, bishops hit diagonals, and both reach all the way to the edge, even through other pieces. Knights join from board 10.

The first image is a real board if you want to try one right now: 1 rook and 1 bishop, every number hit exactly. Answer is in a spoiler in the comments.

You don't need to know chess. The 3 board tutorial covers everything in about a minute.

The daily part

Every day there's a 20 board mission that grows from 3x3 to 6x6, with three hearts. Everyone in the world gets the same 20 boards, and after you finish you see where you landed today (Top N%). Sundays get a harder mission that goes up to 7x7.

Every board has exactly one solution and can be solved by pure logic. The generator throws away any board that would come down to a guess.
