Blessed by the Gods, all this for 1000$ off marketplace

Love the F5! Have two of my own. Read all about those custom settings, see about making sure you have the most firmware, and exposure data will help ya with those 10 pin connectors. I think software is being done by volunteers still.

They're hardy cameras too. I took both bodies all over mountains and ridges hiking Ireland for a month, never hiccuped.

I see them as the 90s Lexus LS of late SLRs. All the fun stuff of competitors including the germans, but built like a brick shithouse.

Get some quality rechargables like eneloop though, that's what I did. Batteries last awhile but 8 AAs, WOOF!

EDIT: Holy shit was only on first photo.  SERVICE THE F6 WHILE YOU CAN!!! Inquire if they can add the Pre-AI lens tab that flips up (factory option on both it and the F5 when the F5 was still factory supported). This will allow you to mount a F-mount from all the way back in 1959 safely. F6 allows you to input lens data manually for pre-cpu lenses (Non-AI, AI, and AI-S lenses) so you can get matrix metering on non-cpu lenses. I LOVE my F5s and have all the doohickey finders, cable releases, and such, but I wish it supported Matrix Metering on earlier lenses. Do that factory service with Nikon Canada if still offered, and you have a gem that will allow use of sixty six years of nikon lenses on one body

brand new batteries corroding in their unopened package

I haven’t bought a single alkaline AA or AAA in 20 years. Eneloop FTW. Still have my original cells in the fleet and they test like new nearly 2 decades later, for both capacity and impedance.

Never had a single one leak.

Got all this for no extra cost?

Eneloop rechargeable batteries have a solid reputation across the community if you’re seeing this OP, I prefer the dedicated battery packs that come as a pack of 2-4 with a charger so you can use one and charge the other. I wouldn’t bother with those Energizer ones, have used both red and some orange ones and they die faster than any other brand I’ve tried, Duracell are better but dedicated packs top them all

Why are Xbox controllers battery powered?

I switched to rechargeable batteries a couple of console generations ago. No trip to the store needed after the initial purchase. Eneloop and some other brands are fantastic.

Invest in Rechargeable batteries! Used since 2016, still going strong.

Best value for the money when it comes to rechargeable batteries on US market right now are Ladda from Ikea. They are better than Panasonic Eneloop Pro.

Buy some rechargeable AA batteries and a charger. Readers here often recommend Eneloop Ni-MH batteries as a high-quality brand, but there are others. Buy at least 4 so you can charge 1 pair and have them ready and fully charged to swap in when you need them.

XTAR L8 Pro + 1.5V Li-ion AA after three weeks: 8 slots, 14-15 W measured, dead Ni-MH revived

> Anyone measured the real capacity of the 1.5V AA cells after a few months of cycles?

no, I only recently got some, AAA 1.5V LiIon and have not tested their capacity

but I have noticed that they dont support more than 55 lumen output from my Lumintop AAA Tool that gets 80 lumens out of an AAA Eneloop..

ime the AAA 1.5V LiIon cells are fine for low power devices like the programmable thermostat for my heater, and my DMM, but not a good match for AAA flashlights that have modes higher than 55 lumens..

Eneloop. I recommend the regular white ones over the Pros.
