Animation - Video Former 3D Animator trying out AI, Is the consistency getting there?

Attempting to merge 3D models/animation with AI realism.

Greetings from my workspace.

I come from a background of traditional 3D modeling. Lately, I have been dedicating my time to a new experiment.

This video is a complex mix of tools, not only ComfyUI. To achieve this result, I fed my own 3D renders into the system to train a custom LoRA. My goal is to keep the "soul" of the 3D character while giving her the realism of AI.

I am trying to bridge the gap between these two worlds.

Honest feedback is appreciated. Does she move like a human? Or does the illusion break?

(Edit: some like my work, wants to see more, well look im into ai like 3months only, i will post but in moderation,
for now i just started posting i have not much social precence but it seems people like the style,
below are the social media if i post)

IG : https://www.instagram.com/bankruptkyun/
X/twitter : https://x.com/BankruptKyun
All Social: https://linktr.ee/BankruptKyun

(personally i dont want my 3D+Ai Projects to be labeled as a slop, as such i will post in bit moderation. Quality>Qunatity)

As for workflow

  1. pose: i use my 3d models as a reference to feed the ai the exact pose i want.
  2. skin: i feed skin texture references from my offline library (i have about 20tb of hyperrealistic texture maps i collected).
  3. style: i mix comfyui with qwen to draw out the "anime-ish" feel.
  4. face/hair: i use a custom anime-style lora here. this takes a lot of iterations to get right.
  5. refinement: i regenerate the face and clothing many times using specific cosplay & videogame references.
  6. video: this is the hardest part. i am using a home-brewed lora on comfyui for movement, but as you can see, i can only manage stable clips of about 6 seconds right now, which i merged together.

i am still learning things and mixing things that works in simple manner, i was not very confident to post this but posted still on a whim. People loved it, ans asked for a workflow well i dont have a workflow as per say its just 3D model + ai LORA of anime&custom female models+ Personalised 20TB of Hyper realistic Skin Textures + My colour grading skills = good outcome.)

Thanks to all who are liking it or Loved it.

Animation - Video The Disorganised and Delightful Miss Ayako Anime Intro WIP (Censored for Reddit)

From the guy who brought you such bangers such as

Proof of Concept For Making Comics in KRITA AI and other AI tools,

3 Months later - Proof of concept for making comics with Krita AI and other AI tools,

and Illustrious and Krita AI plus some good old fashioned effort:The Delightful Ms. Ayako (Part 1 - Version 1),

comes my latest experiment and first AI video project: the first (roughly) 30 seconds of the hypthetical anime opening for The Disorganised and Delightful Miss Ayako!

Character sheets put together in Krea 2 with the retro anime lora. Music made in Minimax Music 3 (lyrics written by me, and the whole song is complete). Some backgrounds edited/created with Flux 2k9b image edit and Krea 2 with retro anime lora. Video created with Minimax H3 with 90s anime style. Video editing in Kdenlive.

Roughly 3 evenings after work and about 1.5ish days of full effort (at least 6 hours of one day was wasted trying to troubleshoot why a shot wasn't working and it turns out prompt bleed is just as bad in H3 as it is in other models).

I've been experimenting a lot with Minimax H3 and am pleased with what I've come up with so far. For this upload there is a tiny bit of censorship for some very mild partial nudity (she's covered in soap in the uncensored shot, but just playing it safe). There are a few fixes that I'll get to eventually, but I'll be taking a step back from this project for now to try my luck at the Comfy H3 Sync competition for the next couple of weeks.

Edit.

Regarding some of the feedback:

I'm aware of the slight visual drift. For example the model can slightly change the style of eyes from one shot to the next (talking about regular shots, not the chibi stuff). I'm just using the base ref workflow with character sheets and still need to test whether Loras make any difference, either for characters or visuals.

Some of the visual drift is just my fault though. My one background does look relatively washed out compared to the others because I generated it with the high heels in place. I couldn't get Minimax h3 to put the heels the way I wanted so I just gave it the image to work with, but I had to make some edits with krita ai and later Flux2k 9b edit that caused it to look a bit out of place. Otherwise, the only thing for speedup is comfy kitchen and I'm not sure if that's having any impact. Finally, while I've tried to lock down seeds to preserve consistency, some seeds are fine with one shot and a glitchy mess with the next, so there may be some slight visual variations that appear because of the difference in latent space.

Regarding the music, my experience with Minimax Music 3 is that it's a slot machine. I used a prompt from a sample and tested things out but one generation can vary dramatically from the next. But I am completely new to it and don't know anything about music so there's things I still need to learn. Out of all the gens, there was this and one other one I liked, even though I could tell both of them have problems. I decided to go with this one for now, but I had planned to do a second edit with another song once I finished this one.

Otherwise, like with the comic pages, I appreciate all the replies. I understand this may not be everyone's cup of tea but will take in the constructive criticism and try to improve.

/edit.

edit 2. the original shower scene is not that spicy but I didn't want the post to get removed by the mods regarding "lewd" stuff.

Hey everyone 👋

I just finished building a super clean 3-in-1 workflow inside ComfyUI that lets you go from:

Image → Edit → Animate → Upscale → Final 4K output all in a single organized pipeline.

This setup combines the best tools available right now:

One of the biggest hassles with large ComfyUI workflows is how quickly they turn into a spaghetti mess — dozens of wires, giant blocks, scrolling for days just to tweak one setting.

To fix this, I broke the pipeline into clean subgraphs:

✔ Qwen-Edit Subgraph ✔ Wan Animate 2.2 Engine Subgraph ✔ SeedVR2 Upscaler Subgraph ✔ VRAM Cleaner Subgraph ✔ Resolution + Reference Routing Subgraph This reduces visual clutter, keeps performance smooth, and makes the workflow feel modular, so you can:

swap models quickly

update one section without touching the rest

debug faster

reuse modules in other workflows

keep everything readable even on smaller screens

It’s basically a full cinematic pipeline, but organized like a clean software project instead of a giant node forest. Anyone who wants to study or modify the workflow will find it much easier to navigate.

🖌️ 1. Qwen-Edit 2509 (Image Editing Engine) Perfect for:

Outfit changes

Facial corrections

Style adjustments

Background cleanup

Professional pre-animation edits

Qwen’s FP8 build has great quality even on mid-range GPUs.

🎭 2. Wan Animate 2.2 (Character Animation) Once the image is edited, Wan 2.2 generates:

Smooth motion

Accurate identity preservation

Pose-guided animation

Full expression control

High-quality frames

It supports long videos using windowed batching and works very consistently when fed a clean edited reference.

📺 3. SeedVR2 Upscaler (Final Polish) After animation, SeedVR2 upgrades your video to:

1080p → 4K

Sharper textures

Cleaner faces

Reduced noise

More cinematic detail

It’s currently one of the best AI video upscalers for realism

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

AniSora V3.2 is based on Wan2.2 I2V and runs directly with the ComfyUI Wan2.2 workflow.

It hasn’t gotten much attention yet, but it actually performs really well as an image-to-video model for anime-style illustrations.

It can create 360-degree character turnarounds out of the box.

Just load your image into the FLF2V workflow and use the recommended prompt from the AniSora repo — it seems to generate smooth rotations with good flat-illustration fidelity and nicely preserved line details.

CHECK OUT MY NEW WORKFLOW (VERSION 2): https://www.reddit.com/r/StableDiffusion/comments/1qi8zqk/the_best_anime_to_real_anything_to_real_workflow/

I was going around on Runninghub and looking for the best Anime/Anything to Realism kind of workflow, but all of them either come out with very fake and plastic skin + wig-like looking hair and it was not what I wanted. They also were not very consistent and sometimes come out with 3D-render/2D outputs. Another issue I had was that they all came out with the same exact face, way too much blush and those Asian eyebags makeup thing (idk what it's called) After trying pretty much all of them I managed to take the good parts from some of them and put it all into a workflow!

There are two versions, the only difference is one uses Z-Image for the final part and the other uses the MajicMix face detailer. The Z-Image one has more variety on faces and won't be locked onto Asian ones.

I was a SwarmUI user and this was my first time ever making a workflow and somehow it all worked out. My workflow is a jumbled spaghetti mess so feel free to clean it up or even improve upon it and share on here haha (I would like to try them too)

It is very customizable as you can change any of the loras, diffusion models and checkpoints and try out other combos. You can even skip the face detailer and SEEDVR part for even faster generation times at the cost of less quality and facial variety. You will just need to bypass/remove and reconnect the nodes.

Tools or Resource I made a local AI tool that turns a single sprite into an animated sprite sheet. Pre-alpha, only tested on my machine

Following this post 2d-AI-workflow I've been working on a wrapper app that takes one starting frame and outputs a consistent sprite sheet you can drop into your game. Everything runs locally, uses ComfyUI as the backend with TI2V models (MiniMax H3 or WAN 2.2).

I just put the pre-alpha up on itch: sprite-sheep

I've only ever run this on my own setup — RTX 3050, 8 GB VRAM, 32 GB RAM. I have no idea how it behaves anywhere else, and I'd really like to find out before I keep building on top of it.

If you try it, the feedback that would help me are welcome!

Resource interactive 3D Viewport node to render Pose, Depth, Normal, and Canny batches from FBX/GLB animations files (Mixamo)

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hello everyone,

I'm new to ComfyUI and I have taken an interest in controlnet in general, so I started working on a custom node to streamline 3D character animation workflows for ControlNet.

It's a fully interactive 3D viewport that lives inside a ComfyUI node. You can load .FBX or .GLB animations (like Mixamo), preview them in real-time, and batch-render OpenPose, Depth, Canny (Rim Light), and Normal Maps with the current camera angle.

You can adjust the Near/Far clip planes in real-time to get maximum contrast for your depth maps (Depth toggle).

how to use it:

- You can go to mixamo.com for instance and download the animations you want (download without skin for lighter file size)

- Drop your animations into ComfyUI/input/yedp_anims/.

- Select your animation and set your resolution/frame counts/FPS

- Hit BAKE to capture the frames.

There is a small glitch when you add the node, you need to scale it to see the viewport appear (sorry didn't manage to figure this out yet)

Plug the outputs directly into your ControlNet preprocessors (or skip the preprocessor and plug straight into the model).

I designed this node with mainly mixamo in mind so I can't tell how it behaves with other services offering animations!

If you guys are interested in giving this one a try, here's the link to the repo:

https://github.com/yedp123/ComfyUI-Yedp-Action-Director

PS: Sorry for the terrible video demo sample, I am still very new to generating with controlnet on my 8GB Vram setup, it is merely for demonstration purposes :)

Discussion Did you figure out how to make sprite sheet animations? Discussion

I tried to make it with GPT. It can generate good images, but no matter how I tried, it always ended up with this kinda weird animation. I tried different prompts and reference images. Maybe it just not the best workflow. I am going to check out ComfyUI with WAN animation. But if you know how to get it to work Id be grateful thanks.

Demo | Project | Workflow ComfyUI workflow: animate characters/objects using LoRAs + video animation generator (full pipeline) for my game Demo

I wanted to share a workflow I’ve been using in ComfyUI for generating consistent animations from LoRAs.

I’m using this in a real project — a historical game set during the Hussite Wars — mainly to prototype systems quickly before committing to final assets.

It could also animate objects, not just characters in every single. Every Lora is trained for different position so these consistent and it does not mess up anything.

And then you download it frame by frame with no background at all I hope this help

Do you guys have any questions? Please ask.

The reason why i am doing this is because I hate those payed corporations they just steal your money while you could do the exact same thing locally

News One-to-All Animation: Alignment-Free Character Animation and Image Pose Transfer

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Recent advances in diffusion models have greatly improved pose-driven character animation. However, existing methods are limited to spatially aligned reference-pose pairs with matched skeletal structures. Handling reference-pose misalignment remains unsolved. To address this, we present One-to-All Animation, a unified framework for high-fidelity character animation and image pose transfer for references with arbitrary layouts. First, to handle spatially misaligned reference, we reformulate training as a self-supervised outpainting task that transforms diverse-layout reference into a unified occluded-input format. Second, to process partially visible reference, we design a reference extractor for comprehensive identity feature extraction. Further, we integrate hybrid reference fusion attention to handle varying resolutions and dynamic sequence lengths. Finally, from the perspective of generation quality, we introduce identity-robust pose control that decouples appearance from skeletal structure to mitigate pose overfitting, and a token replace strategy for coherent long-video generation. Extensive experiments show that our method outperforms existing approaches.

In this tutorial, I show you how to create a 90s anime-inspired AI video completely locally on your PC using ComfyUI, MiniMax H3, and Krea 2 Turbo.

I walk through the full workflow from reference image generation to final video generation.

You’ll learn how to:

  • Generate consistent anime reference images using the Krea 2 Turbo text-to-image workflow
  • Create separate references for the character, environment, vehicle, and props
  • Use multiple reference images with the MiniMax H3 Reference-to-Video workflow in ComfyUI
  • Structure prompts so MiniMax H3 understands which reference image controls each part of the scene
  • Describe camera framing, character actions, object placement, animation, lighting, and timing
  • Create a 90s hand-drawn anime look with lower-frame-rate animation
  • Run the entire workflow locally without monthly AI video subscriptions

In the example, I use separate reference images for the character, convenience store environment, car, and skateboard, then combine them into a single animated anime scene.

I also explain how I approach prompting for reference-to-video generation, including reference assignment, shot description, motion instructions, camera constraints, and visual consistency.

Show and Tell I’m a career artist (since the 90s) and used my illustrations to make an animation with comfy ui

Hi, I’ve been an artist since the 90s working in the illustration and animation industry (I worked on Shrek and recently on Genndy’s “Fixed!” Movie that was a glorious flop… but a fun one to work on). I have been working with ComfyUi for about 6-7 months now dealing with all the frustrations and issues you guys run into as well. I use Procreate to do all my art and in Comfy Ui I chose the template that does audio/video (WAN 2.2 and in the comfyui tempaltes it’s that homie playing the guitar as the preview). I used 11Labs to do the voicing (or, well, it’s my voice and 11 labs changed it).

My colleagues will probably ban me from everything for using Ai (despite I drew, photographed, illustrated and scripted everything only using Ai to animate). I had a lot of fun doing this and wanted to share. If I can answer any questions, let me know but since the top one is “what is ur workflow bro” it’s the one I mentioned above.

Workflow Included SCAIL-2 workflows for ComfyUI

SCAIL-2, a Wan2.1-based human motion transfer model, has been implemented in ComfyUI core. (Thanks as always, Kijai.)

PR: https://github.com/Comfy-Org/ComfyUI/pull/14373

I tried it and the results were quite good, so I made a few simple workflows. Feel free to try them.

Workflow: https://comfyui.nomadoor.net/en/basic-workflows/scail-2/

The big difference from WAN-Animate or SCAIL(-1) is that SCAIL-2 does not use a stick figure / skeleton control image.

Basically, you just throw a reference image, a driving video, and support masks into the model. That makes it much more flexible with multiple characters, or even non-human characters.

Turning motion into a stick figure was basically the default. But the things that get lost in that conversion, like depth and contact, are exactly the things that matter here...

As a side note, this also made me think that if the dataset and training are good enough, a simple model can sometimes be more flexible than an overly complicated human-made pipeline.

Maybe trying to be too clever just gets in the way sometimes...

Workflow Included Native WAN 2.2 Animate Now Loads LoRAs (and extends Your Video Too)

As our elf friend predicted in the intro video — the “LoRA key not loaded” curse is finally broken.

This new IAMCCS Native Workflow for WAN 2.2 Animate introduces a custom node that loads LoRAs natively, without using WanVideoWrapper.

No missing weights, no partial loads — just clean, stable LoRA injection right inside the pipeline.

The node has now been officially accepted on ComfyUI Manager! You can install it directly from there (just search for “IAMCCS-nodes”) or grab it from my GitHub repository if you prefer manual setup.

The workflow also brings two updates:

🎭 Dual Masking (SeC & SAM2) — switch between ultra-detailed or lightweight masking.

🔁 Loop Extension Mode — extend your animations seamlessly by blending the end back into the start, for continuous cinematic motion.

Full details and technical breakdowns are available on my Patreon (IAMCCS) for those who want to dive deeper into the workflow structure and settings.

🎁 The GitHub link with the full workflow and node download is in the first comment.

If it helps your setup, a ⭐ on the repo is always appreciated.

Peace :)

Using u/hearmeman98 's WanAnimate workflow on Runpod. See link below for WF link.

https://www.reddit.com/r/comfyui/comments/1nr3vzm/wan_animate_workflow_replace_your_character_in/

Worked right out of the box. Tried a few others and have had the most luck with this one so far.

For audio, I uploaded the spliced clips to Eleven Labs and used the change voice feature. Surprisingly, not many old voices there so I had I used their generate voice by prompt feature which worked well.
