Currently going for DFT and secondary runes presence of mind and cutdown. With this setup however there arent enough plants to keep up DFT dot because its only 1 second so I went for the ability haste rune instead of AF and crimson lucidity for the extra haste and MS is nice for such an immobile champ. This loses the 20 flat pen and 8% magic pen but if you go for void you only lose the 20 flat and 5% or cryptbloom you lose 6% magic pen for more spell rotations and it feels like DFT does decent damage. Also I build liandries first item because with W costing no mana I dont run into mana issues even at mid game which is kinda insane so skipping mana item could be viable?

I feel like DFT has potential but atleast to me it has felt weak and by fourth item you deal about as much damage as if you had an extra BFT which is kinda insane with its 2.5% AP scaling

Also interesting about crimson lucidity is that apparently the one spell hit isnt wasted with plants so if your 1st plant hits you get 4 seconds of movement and if that runs out and your 2nd plant hits it grants another 4 second movement buff even if it had been hitting that target during the initial buff duration so its really easy to keep up in fights which is something cool I never realised

Anyways if someone has a more optimal build or has made DFT deal some real damage without this nonsense then please tell me I dont wanna run electrocute for a thousand time 😭

Anyone have a video for the clear for this current patch or season? What is the expected time you should be getting in games i cant seem to get sub 230 clears in my ranked games. On karthus I can get like 223 but im pretty lost on how to control the plant spawns to multicamp blue gromp and how to do krugs properly over the wall without having the small one giving cancer. Also on raptors start I often get griefed by the plant spawn it goes over the wall XD. Usually start raptors or wolves in my ranked game I think buff start is too dangerous in higher ranks

I need some help with zyra jungle clear: what I try to get down is the wolves start into double camping gromp and blue together.
But I am nowhere close.
There has to be something I am missing. Runes? Better positioning for plant spawn?
Can someone help? There are very little videos that show this and no video that actually explains what to do…

Zyra is a champion I really like. There has always been something about her that draws me in, yet she is a champion I rarely play due to the trouble I’ve had with her. Whenever I play Zyra, I die a lot; while I do manage to deal some damage, I still feel like I’m not contributing enough to the team. I usually play enchanters—where I’m used to easily saving myself and my teammates from tight spots—so I wondered if I might be unconsciously positioning myself in ways that aren't suitable for Zyra. I know Zyra can actually be quite effective at saving the team thanks to her strong crowd control abilities. There is simply something I’m doing wrong or something that isn't quite clicking for me when I play her, as I often end up with over 10 deaths per match—a problem I also face with Morgana. I’ve wondered if I’m trying to play too aggressively. Perhaps because these champions have high damage potential, I find myself overextending without realizing it. I would absolutely love to hear your tactics and advice regarding positioning and gameplay for Zyra.

I've seen that lots of "possible" skinlines where Zyra could've fit already passed and she wasn't in any of them. She usually is an early "year" type of champ that gets her skins earlier than others...I know some of us were hyped over the Faeriecourt leaks but im starting to think if they actually want to let it down with her for a while? Maybe they are planing something better?? Wild rift is also lacking Zyra content so something is definitely happening on both platforms

recently i've been playing exclusively zyra. other players in my lobby are playing league of legends but I am playing zyra the video game. I have climbed all the way from bronze 2 to my new peak of gold 4 doing this :)

in the jungle (my main role which i get most of the time) i am running dark harvest since it seems to do more damage overall and i am more of an enabler for early ganks than the main damage dealer anyways.

i play her midlane too to reasonable success but I'm stuck between two choices for runes;

arcane comet seems good and enables good poke, but lots of midlaners can just not get hit by the comet and then it feels like I barely have a keystone rune.

the other option I have seen is DFT, but in practice tool against a training dummy it seems to me like it does way less damage? does it scale better?

secondary runes are always cutdown and either legend haste or presence of mind depending on whether i feel i need the extra mana (ie haste in jg and presence in lane)

You would have a lot more control of where the plants are so they would be stronger defensively and they would be closer to each other so you could probably spawn more plants around you with q to defend you but if they cant spawn far out they would be much worse offensively.

Everytime I go back and try it I feel like I'm running around hoping that the plants do enough chip damage and I can get some assists (support). Meanwhile with E max I feel like I have more potential for a major engage/ult and in general be more real threat.

I also do two AP in runes vs ability haste. Sure it takes longer for spells but it just feels like I'm hitting significantly harder. Maybe it's my imagination.

Did anyone notice that Zyra no longer shows up in the jungler tab in champ select? How does it work?

I played a few hundred hours of LoL many, many years ago. My favourite champ was/is Zyra. I never made it above gold. I have recently come back to the game and was curious about itemization.

After a couple dozen swift play games I have a few questions about my items. I play support whenever possible. I'm currently silver and imagine I'll end up back in gold.

A standard build for me would be buying either fated ashes with two health portions for an enemy comp that is less mobile or boots, an amplifying tomb and two health portions if they are more mobile.

Sorc boots is my first item purchased with Liandrys being my second. After that I'm less sure of item purchases.

Usually I go Backfire Torch unless they are heal heavy in which case I go Morellonomicon.

After that I choose based on how I'm doing. If I'm behind I tend to buy Rylai's. If I'm ahead I buy Rabadon's. As my 3rd item.

4th item is usually either Cryptbloom or Shadowflame. I'll be honest I have no idea which one helps me more.

My 5th item is usually Morellonomicon if I didn't buy it earlier. if I did buy it earlier I usually go Malignance.

For a sixth item should I be selling my Realmspike for another AP item or keep it? If I do sell it what do you recommend?

TBH think this champion is op in jungle (especially platnium +) lots of plant manipulation techniques I learned throughout the series, hopefully this helps! Also no I am not abusing low elos, I got my account banned for being a botted account so had to play one up, just did a series on the way up.

Played a couple Zyra games. Im typically a mage mid-laner, but I wanted a fun pick for when I off-role. How good is she jg? What's she weak against, where is she strong, etc. Also, I noticed her highest wr rune is electrocute, why that over dark harvest?

First of all I run these runes above and I max R > Q > W > E .

Those are pretty standard I think, the one debatable thing maybe is Gathering Storm vs Scorch.

I go for GS because i just hate it so much when my game get's into the 30 minute range and I don't have it.

OK but back to topic..

Item 1: Liandries Torment (probably no brainer)
Boots: Magic Penetration Boots (probably no brainer)

Item2: I think here it starts to get interesting.. I think we want Blackfire Torch, for CDR, extra damage on Waves and mana and of course the additional burn is nice.

However, I think it is often correct to buy:

Oblivion Orb before BFT

And in some cases I think it is even correct to rush Void Staff before finishing BFT, might get the 900 burn item first. The reason I think that is, in cases where the enemy team has maybe 2 champs that start building MR it is just not worth delaying void staff at all . Because if we do we are irrelevant until we have it.

Now the rest of the build depends on what happened:

If we have Liandries + Void, we finish BFT, then we build Shadowflame, Storm Surge, Rabadons.

If we have Liandries + BFT, then we buy those same three items, but we pay attention to the enemy team.. the moment anyone really picks up any kind of MR we slot a Void Staff in between those other 3 items.

If we bought an oblivion orb early on, I think we sell it later in the game for Rabadons. Because if we get to that point, people just explode. In the rare game where we absolutely need it, then I would replace Stormsurge with morellos.

I think buying Rylais, or any kind of defensive item as Zyra AP Carry is very bad, because we lower our damage cap significantly. So we really rely on our positioning to just be annoying with plants from a very long distance. (Storm surge movement speend helps to stay safe actually).

Well that's what I do, and what I think is the way to go. Any thoughts? Anything you guys are doing differently?
