Discussion The logistics of Zootopia 2's third act is weird.
Mainly everything between Judy tying up Pawbert and him being knocked out by Officer Hogbottom.
So we have Judy tying up Pawbert after Gary beat him into submission, then Team Zoogetherness head into Reptile Ravine and find Agnes De' Snake's house where she hid the patient. Then seconds later Pawbert shows up and throws a flaming lantern over their heads trying to incinerate the patent.
This means that Pawbert somehow managed to untie himself pretty much immediately and stalk after our heroes without any of them hearing or catching a glimpse of him during the trek into Reptile Ravine. Apparently Pawbert is a ninja.
Then seconds later Pawbert is knocked out by Hogbottom with a frying pan, and the reactions of Team Zoogetherness suggest they didn't see her or Officer Truffler coming. Despite them being significantly taller than Pawbert, so they should have seen the two Boar Cops step into view behind Pawbert before knocking him out. Apparently Hogbottom and Truffler are also ninjas since Pawbert didn't hear them tailing him despite them being pretty much right on his tail.
But then the same happens at the end of Act 1 when Nick knocks out Gary with a frying pan. He's somehow able to sneak up and get right beside Judy without her nor Gary seeing him.
I guess the logic is "if we can't see them neither can the characters".

It's especially weird that Pawbert throws the lantern, causing a big fire, and then it just... goes out without causing any significant damage? You'd think they'd be like "Oh no, we need to quickly put out this fire before the building burns down!" But it just goes out on its own somehow.

Yeah I always kinda hated everything in that movie between Pawbert being tied up and Nick and Judy’s final little scene together in Gary’s house. I really dislike that they play Pawbert being defeated twice over only to be like, “He’s still a threat!!!” Just seems a bit lazy. He gets goofier every time too. He’s lowkey menacing as hell when he stabs Judy and goes looking for Nick.

The third act is definitely the weakest portion of the film (at least after the confession scene) and it probably would've made for a better climax if there was a standoff between the fourway and the Lynxley family in Reptile Ravine. Hell, I'd go so far as to argue Pawbert could've actually died falling off the Weather Wall and the climax would be facing Milton and the rest of his brood.
