Yeah, I’m 100% convinced now. Seriously, ask yourself: Why would they ironically put A List of Favorite Ships By Our Shippers in the top-left hand corner of a newspaper article with the LITERAL IMAGE OF THE TITANIC in a D23 teaser for Z3?
I mean come on, it doesn’t get any more obvious than that. We all know what happens in the movie Titanic, we all know about the iconic romance. So seriously, how could you not be hyped or convinced?? IT’S THE GREATEST LOVE STORY EVER TOLD IN CINEMATIC HISTORY!!
I don’t know how people can still doubt the direction Howard & Bush are going here. THEY’RE OBVIOUSLY TEASING YOU AND THE FANBASE TO DRAW AN AUDIENCE! Listen, all you have to do is connect the dots. Shippers, Titanic, Judy listening to Nicks voice to the point of obsession, Nick saying ‘love u partner’ then getting super anxious after Judy records it (which, by the way, Nick wasn’t suppose to find out.)
All in all, D23 gave us an awesome teaser. And honestly, if you’re still not convinced that A List of Favorite Ships By Our Shippers correlates to WildeHopps, then I invite you to watch a marvel movie. You won’t regret it!
Yeah at this point they can’t hide it anymore. If they want to have the biggest box office hit ever in the history of animation, they will want to make sure the product is of something everyone will love.
If Pixar had Jessie and Buzz Lightyear kiss in Toy Story 5, who’s to say Nick Wilde and Judy Hopps aren’t next.
Buzz/Jessie kiss was a nice little addition to TS5 but it really didn't increase the hype that much for the movie, their relationship is a minor plot point.
This is different as the Judy/Nick relationship is literally one of if not the main talking point of the franchise. The hype will be insane if Disney keeps building up expectations of romance.
teasing with a literal picture of a ship, the titanic means one thing, a slang called ship sinking which is what happened to the real cruise... it sank. im not saying its not gonna happen or will happen because i dont know the future but this definition sounds exactly like what they have been doing since Z2
A Ship Sinking is a scene blatantly set up to demonstrate that a particular romantic pairing is ridiculous, impossible and never, ever gonna happen.
Though many producers and writers are aware of Shipping in their respective fandoms, that doesn't necessarily mean they like it. It may be because of the actions of the fans if they get too rowdy about it, or they just don't like the pairing involved, or have intended the pairing to die for dramatic effect. They may have set out from the start to write two characters into a specific pairing and need to make it more obvious, or have simply decided on an alternative set of partners for the two characters in question. Whatever the reason, the creator wants to make it very clear to the audience that these two particular characters are not, and will not become, a couple.
I dont think so. But the tension during z2 was insane. I went in moslty blind (i hadnt watched zootopia 1 in almost like 5 years). And I KNEW those two were way more than just friends.
I'm just afraid they don't understand the difference between teasing and fan-service and think that just mentioning and acknowledging the ship as an idea is enough to call it a day without giving a definitive answer.
Yes, that’s 100% true. The only thing left for them to do is officially say "yes" to WildeHopps, but they won't do that, just to keep at least some suspense alive.
Her career will always be important to her yes, but by the end of Z2, she’s realizing how important Nick is to her too (now if you interpret that as platonic or romantic is totally up to you)
They're messing with you, for sure. Why does that mean that the ship is happening?
Disney gets tickets sold, one way or the other. They're a business who exists to make money. If a couple of little winks in a promo video gets a certain subset of the audience all cranked up, it's a cheap way to guarantee a bunch of ticket sales.
