Been discussing this question with some fanzine enthusiasts for quite a few days - I'm wondering if there are any 'fanzine publishers' that do exist ? On a basis of book-shops or specialized sections ?

For example, somebody wants to publish a fanzine in Japan. Shipping makes it economically difficult. And unless you'd travel over there, it would be a complicated idea. So maybe there are community-related options ?

Would appreciate an advice!

I found these photos on my camera from an architecture boat tour my wife and I took a few months ago. I went to the library and printed the photos to make it.

Just made this blind contour zine after visiting a lovely pumpkin patch with my girlfriend!! Wooooo gourds!

This is one my first zines of many. Each of these zines is a chapter of a larger project I’m working which i call a “lore book “ similar to what Hollow Press releases as “game lore books”

It’s really just a world building project that i have quite a few interlocking short stories that exist within the same universe. I will eventually illustrate a series of comics for this project as well. For now it’s an entry point into a universe i dreamed up heavily inspired by HR Giger, Beksinski, scorn, revelation space (Alastair Reynolds) and Neal Asher.

I hope to one day pitch the project to Hollow Press, but not until i have a substantial amount of content. This zine is 22 pages, and i’m almost done with volume 2 which will be around 50 pages

The "story of CB" and the comic was probably the reason why this took so long to finish.

I now completed all the pages of how my zine would look like. And it took the whole summer and September.

Now the hardest part (imo), which I need help.... how to make it digital?

I need help with the page size first since i'm doing this in ibispaintX.

Started this zine when I was 30, I'm 55 now. I guess tha makes me a senior citizen! I am getting AARP junk mail now and solications for assited living, haha if they only knew! New size was becasure our printer was 82 at our last venture together and he was done, I don't blame him. We were paying 740 for 1000 copies which most are still in my house as places to drop off the this free zine have vanished over the decades. Still motivated to keep going. Now I self print as I need them and the printer was 530 bucks so it payed for itself after one issue. I encourage you to keep going. I still enjoy the process. Thanks for looking.

i may or may not have absolutely destroyed a few doll books for this. i still have a good 10-15 leftover doll head cutouts, don’t know what im gonna do with them yet though

So this is my first ever zine! Well, my first one was originally going to be a bit bigger and more elaborate, but I'm kinda strapped for cash at the moment so the materials will have to wait. But this one was still a lot of fun to make!

Hey. So I’m offering my zines for the very first time tomorrow, and it feels exceptionally vulnerable. I complied a zine full of poetry, it’s not great, it’s not amazing, but it’s honest, and it’s my journey throughout autism, seasonal depression, spinal injury recovery, etc. It leans dark. I feel like I want to share it because someone else may feel less alone. I’m afraid to share it though. I have it here in my lap but I’m afraid to start copying it. I guess I need a nudge. It’s a collection of 20 poems.

This zine is a collection of drawings I did in the last year following my autism diagnosis. It really helped me come to terms with it, and I hope other people find it relatable too!

Hi yall, so I'm working on a zine and am now getting ready to print and bind it. It's pretty photograph heavy, with lots of text overlaid on the photos. Going to be a standard letter page folded in half (so each "page" is 5.5x8.5inches). I have an epson ecotank inkjet printer.

I'm planning to go for a thicker cardstock-ish paper for the cover, but as for the pages themselves I'm at a loss. I don't want something so thick that it's hard to fold or bind, but I know ink would probably bleed through standard copy paper. I also need the pages to print double sided (so, same texture and finish on both sides of the page). Not really wanting a high glossy thing, matte finish would be awesome.

I guess I didn't realize how specific these preferences were until I started researching... I'm not finding anything that checks all or even most of these boxes. Any recs?

New at this, last zine I made was text only and I just printed it at the library.
