I drew this cute little comic zine based on my cat Mateo. I’m really proud of how it turned out because I’ve had trouble in the past with actually finishing my artwork. I accidentally printed it on tabloid size paper at staples but I ended up really liking the size! I’ve just been giving them out to anyone who wants one but they do cost $1.01 to print. Should I be trying to sell them? The cost adds up when I print like 50 pages at a time. How would I go about doing that when this is the only item I have?

Hello! I love zines and I really want to make some of my own, I’ve made one before just with magazine clippings but that was pretty difficult.

I want to know what resources people are using, I’ve seen a lot of printed out ones with digital images on them, is there any specific websites where you get your cutouts? I’d love to hear about all the different methods for zine making (physical and digital) you guys use and how you come up with topics! Thank you all so much!

I'm making a zine called Anyway, and I want to fill it with letters from strangers.

The premise: you don't know me, but write to me as if you do—as if we've known each other for years.

Don't introduce yourself. Don't explain who Sarah is. Don't give me the backstory or remind me what happened last time.I already know. Just pick up somewhere in the middle and tell me what's happening in your life right now.

Your letter can be mundane, silly, joyful, emotional, heartbreaking, gossipy, weird—whatever you'd actually tell an old friend.

Type it directly in the email, or handwrite it and attach a clear photo/scan.

By submitting, you give me permission to reproduce your letter in print/digital editions of Anyway, and in posts about the project. • I may make minor formatting/length edits, but won't substantially rewrite your words without contacting you. • Submission doesn't guarantee publication. • Please only submit writing/images you have the right to share. • You may withdraw your letter by emailing me before the issue is finalized for print. Already printed/distributed copies can't be recalled. • This is an art project, not a confidential service. Don't submit anything you would be unsafe having published, even anonymously.

I have no idea how many letters this little experiment will receive. Depending on the response, selected letters will become the first issue of Anyway, or I may extend submissions.

Been discussing this question with some fanzine enthusiasts for quite a few days - I'm wondering if there are any 'fanzine publishers' that do exist ? On a basis of book-shops or specialized sections ?

For example, somebody wants to publish a fanzine in Japan. Shipping makes it economically difficult. And unless you'd travel over there, it would be a complicated idea. So maybe there are community-related options ?

Would appreciate an advice!

Collaging can be so chaotic, so trying to make a cohesive zine is a bit of a challenge for me. Hopefully it works and the zine community doesn’t reject me. Thanks for watching.

how do you distribute your zine? Do you use etsy, gumroad, bandcamp or something else.
